I bought two games and took them home staff was super nice. i tried to play both games than found…read moreout one was not backwards compatible and the second didn't pop up at all, all though it is backwards compatible and was completely scratched. i decided to take them back and said the issues with them i was told she didn't have much knowledge on the xbox games which is totally fine but i expected there to be someone there that knew something in order to help. while waiting around to get my discs buffed i heard them telling another customer that they do not test the games in the shop and i believe they have a 30 day return policy. we came home and my backwards compatible game still does not work a single bit and i had to do plenty of research to find out what was wrong with my other game then came to find out the disc even has a crack in it. i had previously lived in oregon and each game shop out there always tested and cleaned up their games before selling them. i don't blame the kind staff whatsoever i think the owners/management should definitely require the games to be inspected before trading or buying and cleaned up before selling. the store would have more time to focus on making items ready to sell in good condition if they didn't have so many people coming in for defective items sold to them. as i am writing this we are trying to get another xbox game from this shop to work and it has now completely shut off my console and it wouldn't turn back on for awhile this has never happened with any of my other discs.

Some of the CDs are over $15 which is insane, considering the CDs they have aren't even organized; and 90% of them are bands/artists I literally have never seen. I will still show up every week for movies, but they need to rename it to Zia Video; because the DVD selection is actually the only reason I go now. I've found countless films I really want every time I've gone and I still haven't explored more than 15% of the shelves there.

After spending a good 2 hours going through some of the vinyls (there's two levels and we barely made a dent), we walked away with several vinyls (2 used and 3 new) and some used blurays. For something like this the spacing and cut outs have to be super precise and right on the money. Steven was an absolute pro and helped me pick the perfect matting as well for my project. He's very meticulous and you can tell he loves his job and wants you to be thrilled with the result. They had 2 cashiers working & a little bit of a line had formed behind me. Not good to be under staffed during a holiday shopping mth. She had told me "those are on-line prices" I told her I thought this was ridiculous, that I'm in the store already so in order to get these prices I need to order them thru the app & come back to pick them up? Can't I have them for the price listed since I'm here already? She told me I could speak to the manager about it but she was busy with a customer who wanted to buy a Christmas tree on the floor since it was the last one. I did buy a couple of other items that weren't on sale. A few days later I purchased the items I left behind on the app & did a pickup where I parked in a number parking spot & an employee brought it out to my car. Took some of the loose objects of value, mainly designer purses, in just to feel them out and knew immediately it was the wrong choice. I had unused Coach and Michael Kors bags, one with original tags, all priced over $100 online. I was given the lowball offer of $35 for everything and told they can be found at Goodwill...I used to work at Goodwill. No they cant. Some other Big Boy behind the counter came over looking thru my stuff like there was a cookie that needed priced , without asking, no input or expertise either. With that said I went to the EZ Pawn around the corner. Was actually greeted and welcomed by a nice, older lady who was more than excited to actually look at the purses. She seemed to know far more about purses. Especially the Kors bags. I only look for 25% of worth on my storage units I pawn, I had already priced the bags, and she nailed my number perfectly. They actually had more of a pawn shop feel. Not a shoe store. I discussed what I do, that I used to be a carpenter, and always have tools to offload. Their manager over heard and we started talking. just very nice people. So i'll be going back by today to offload the rest of my storage unit and tools.

They also host special events and author appearance book signings. I've never had any problems here and the staff is always friendly and kind. They have placed an adult/teen horror title, The Book of Bill, directly in front of the puppet show and toddler reading area. My 6-year-old opened it, and my 10-year-old was so disturbed by the graphic, nightmarish imagery that they had to slam the book shut and told me they would have nightmares from it.There is absolutely NO excuse or reason for a mature book with a warning label stating it is 'meant for older readers' to be mixed onto a low shelf meant for small children. It is negligent to put terrifying, bloody content where a toddler can grab it while playing. Management needs to answer for this, fix this dangerous display immediately, and keep adult horror completely out of the children's play space. Parents, be on high alert here. I will be adding some pictures so you can see what your children will see if they get their hands on it. On the surface, this Barnes & Noble is a wonderful place for families--it has the massive variety of a library, a great Starbucks conveniently located inside, and a beautifully arranged space filled with toys, puppets, and activities for everyone.
