Narrow Street 512 is located inside the Market Eatery at H-Mart. The chefs have been in business since the late 90s and also have a restaurant in Dallas, where they started out. Before coming to the States, they ran several restaurants in Korea. This is enough to tell you that you're getting some of the most authentic food out there. I truly believe the cold noodle dishes rival any you can find. The spicy cold noodles & pork are a simple dish that gives total comfort food vibes. I really love the fried beef udon. The beef, noodles, and vegetables are enough for two people to share. I like the ease of ordering and being notified when the food is ready. Efficient, friendly, and most of all good tasting food.

Good food fast. Narrow Street serves flavorful hearty portions of Korean food. I ordered the 얼큰우동 Spicy Seafood Udon from the lovely lady at the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do like the seating area next to the counter, especially if one is not in the mood to search for a table in the center of the food court.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank goodness its in HMart because I needed to walk around to digest the meal. The Spicy Seafood Udon is flavorful with a good balance of spice, a good amount of udon and vegetables. The broth is light and clean. Btw, I was shocked to pay $1 for a bottle beer at the beverage section in the food court.

Nothing on the menu really struck out at me but i decided to try cold noodles which was a good choice for the summer. The spicy cold noodles came out pretty good. It kind of tastes familiar to the cold seasoned asian flank & brisket. The only downside of this dish is that it came with only one slice of meat. It also had quite a build up of spicy. You won't feel it till several bites in. So great for the spicy people that aren't trying to cool down. But overall good flavor. You do get a good sized meal for the price

The place is tucked at the end of the food court at HMart. We had Kimchi jjigae and Spicy Cold Noodle. Kimchi Jiggae (kimchi stew) was pretty solid on the flavor, but a little conservative on meats I had maybe 2 or 3 small pieces of pork in it. Flavor was really nice though. Spicy Cold Noodles were pretty tasty too, great noodle texture and spice, but also very small amount of meat. The spice builds up gradually, so it might be a bit much by the end. The banchan was pretty good too, I really like their radishes. The lady at the counter was really nice and answered my questions and gave us to go containers later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very busy so it was a bit of a challenge to find a seat at the food court[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Narrow Street 512 is located in the back of the food court at HMart. This restaurant serves traditional Korean cuisine in Austin. The owners have experience running restaurants in Korea and I would classify this as authentic Korean cuisine. You place your order at the counter and are given a buzzer to alert when your food is ready to be picked up. The menu board displays a visual of most of the menu options and it is very appealing to see what you will be getting. They offer Korean BBQ dishes, udon, soup and cold noodle. My favorite thing to order is the cold noodle Nengmyeon served in a cold & icy broth that is savory, tangy, slightly sweet, and very refreshing. The broth is made of a mixture of a lightly seasoned beef broth and Dongchimi brine. The noodles are made of buckwheat, arrowroot, and/or potato starch. It has other ingredients like sliced cucumbers, Korean pickled radish, crushed sesame seeds, hard boiled egg, asian pear and a slice of beef. I usually add some imitation crab from HMart to the dish for the perfect amount of protein, but was informed that this is not a Korean thing to do. They place the cold noodle bowl on a tray and serve it with vinegar and mustard. I never add any of these condiments but just enjoy the broth as is. When finished, you can return your dishes and tray to a shelf. It is a good portion size of food and usually take some home to enjoy later. Will keep returning in the future for my favorite cold noodle dish and hope to try some of the other items on their menu.

We just luv Narrow St. We thoroughly enjoy all their offerings. My seafood bowl fed me to a full filling level twice. The broth was better the 2nd day. You can easily split and entrees. But there is no fun in that! Ask for extra spice/heat on the side.

Excellent choice from Hmart fast food with my kids! Well big kids. We had the hangover soup, spicy pork udon and the oyster soup. The owner lady was so pleasant and nice he welcomed my sons who were visiting I love the customer service too!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and very efficient![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I got pulled in by the photo on their web site of the spicy seafood udon soup but pulled an audible while in line and got the seafood fried udon instead. It was good, but I wish I tried what I came for instead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really enjoyed the Asian food court experience that Narrow Street 512 was part of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoyed my meal at the counter while people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Need to go back and order more cuz the pictures make it all look pretty good!

If you are a seafood lover but never tried Narrow Street 512 Spicy seafood udon soup you are seriously missing out! The seafood broth is so rich and complex flavors! It's the ocean bursting in your mouth. The udon is the perfect amount of chewiness and spring! Octopus, mussels, shrimp, cabbage, and all sort of nuggets of treasure in this bowl. Seriously is the perfect eats for a cold day or a meal to not feel guilty over. This is my second time trying this dish and every time I am just blown away the consistency of the flavor they were able to extract out of the seafood. You can order it to the spice level you prefer. No spice, mild, medium, & spicy. I chose mild and it wasn't spicy. It was perfect for me. You order at the shop then they provide you a beeper to let you know when your food is ready. It took about 10-15 mins for the food to be ready when I ordered. That's a Friday during lunch rush. Do I recommend this place? Yes! Calling all the udon, soup, and seafood lovers to try this dish! Highly recommend this dish. I haven't tried their cold noodles yet but that's coming next when I visit again!

There is never a wrong choice when it comes to getting a meal from Narrow Street. The prices are amazing for the amount of food you get and the side dishes are so flavorful. My favorite thing to get here depends on the season but it's either their naemyung(cold noodles in a vinegar broth with veggies and meat), or the hangover soup. Their sizzling hot plates are good don't get me wrong but their soups are a nice warm(or cold) hug. The hangover soup has huge chunks of meat that fall off of the bone. It's so tender and has such a rich flavor. There are chives, perilla leaf(I think), and kimchi in there that are also super tasty. Would definitely recommend coming here and giving them a try next time you're shopping at HMART

Sautéed squid, seafood udon, cold noodle soup
    Lori H.

First time here with friends. I enjoyed my spicy seafood udon, didn't think it was very spicy, the spicy squid basically had the same flavor as udon but the squid was very tender. Others enjoyed their cold noodle, one with and without soup.

kimchi soup and the vegetarian stir-fried udon
    Christine G.

Came for a quick dinner because one of us was really craving hot kimchi soup. We found what we were looking for and more! We opted for the kimchi soup and the vegetarian stir-fried udon. The seasoning for the kimchi stew was a bit on the heavier side, but overall, it was an okay stew--definitely a top option on a cold night! The vegetarian udon came out on a pretty big plate and was hearty too! The flavor was decent, and it was just a nice vegetarian option to have. We also ordered two sides of kimchi for $1 each. It's a pretty affordable price, but unfortunately, the kimchi wasn't what we expected--it wasn't really spicy, nor did it pack the fermented taste we usually expect from kimchi. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sitting area is set up pretty nicely, a good place for groups of friends to try different dishes together![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great C1! It is spicy seafood udon soup, good portion and comes with tiny side of cucumber salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was good, ambiance is like in any food court.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

As a…read moreKorean American who's spent a lifetime eating great Korean food at home and in restaurants, my standards are high. That said, this was easily the best Korean meal I've had in Austin, and honestly, it might be the best I've had in Texas. The soondubu arrived absolutely piping hot. I ordered the mushroom version, and it was packed with a wide variety of mushrooms rather than just a few token pieces. Even when ordered spicy, the broth still had incredible depth and flavor that wasn't just heat for the sake of heat. The tteokbokki was addictive. We ended up adding cheese and ramen, which took it to another level. The marinated kalbi was equally impressive: high-quality meat with very little fat and generous portions. The banchan was also top-tier. Standouts included the soy-glazed potatoes, fresh kimchi, and japchae. They also serve purple rice, which has a wonderful chewy texture and feels like a more thoughtful alternative to standard white rice. The food alone would bring me back, but the service was excellent as well; friendly, attentive, and efficient. We came for an early dinner and got seated right away, but if you're planning to come during peak dinner hours, expect a wait. The locals clearly know this place is something special. Huge parking lot and the dining area is bright and airy, even playing the world cup games. Seems to be very family friendly.

The cold noodles had a great taste, but were not served with any accompaniment except some ginger. The six pieces of galbi we ordered included one piece that was purely gristly and bone. We had a pretty uncomfortable table wedged between a large family dinner and the server station, blocked from the windows by a giant wall.

We didn't get a single bad cut and everything was flavorful and cooked well. What really made this place stand out though was the service. MJ took care of us and was incredible from start to finish. Since it was our first time, she walked us through the menu and even helped cook the meats so we could actually relax and enjoy our time together. She stayed on top of the grill, swapping it out right when needed, and was always checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted more banchan. What stood out the most was how thoughtful she was with my parents. She made sure they had food on their plates without overdoing it, which was such a small detail but meant a lot. The food was great, but MJ really made the experience. Definitely coming back.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and such positive energy. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and chill vibe made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was outstanding and packed with flavor. The seafood pancake was cooked to crispy perfection, something that's surprisingly hard to find, as it's often left a bit doughy at other restaurants. The steamed egg was light, fluffy, and comforting, while the spicy tofu pork soup was phenomenal. It had just the right amount of heat, with silky, melt-in-your-mouth tofu and incredibly tender pork belly that paired perfectly with a bowl of rice. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. At one point I accidentally dropped my chopsticks, and before I could even ask for another pair, one of the servers noticed from across the restaurant and immediately brought me a new set. It's those small, thoughtful touches that really set a restaurant apart. SOHA exceeded my expectations in every way. Parking is decently okay, my only complaint is the spaces are small and I don't have a big car, just a 4-door sedan and it barely fit in the spot. So if you have a big car or a nice one, I would recommend parking a bit further away and just walking to the restaurant. I am going to focus more on the cooked items as most people here already gave their review on the sushi. Hangover ramen, not too bad. It is like Shin Ramen Instant Noodles with a lighter flavor, nice touch with the bean sprout as it is a needed texture element. Add the gyoza into it and it makes it even better. Cucumber salad, not bad at all. It is missing a bit of spice to it. A touch of chili oil on it would kick this dish up a bit. It is refreshing and a must at the table. Truffle fries, please skip this. No salt on the fries if you are okay with it. It is just a bit of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. It is lacking in flavor. Yaki Udon, skip this as well. Not sure if it was just the day I went but the sauce was not so great. It was this sweet and sour taste but it was swimming on the bottom of the bowl like the sauce was poured on top of it at the end instead of being stir-fried into it in a wok or a pan. The first few bites are okay but the bottom half is just swimming in that sauce. Spicy Pork Bulgogi, decent size overall, not too bad. I would order like kimchi rice to eat with it next time if I come back.
