I've been to this location a few times particularly for the special collaborations drops for Katseye and more recently the Victoria Beckham collection. On both occasions I found that the store was super organized and had all the styles and sizes that I was looking for (note I went early on in the collaboration release, so if you go late you may not get what you're looking for) and also I found that this GAP usually had other deals had going on as well. Staff also was super helpful, both on the floor and also in the dressing room. I have to shout out one particular sales rep - Aileen - she was at the register and gave top notch service - was super friendly and helpful, such wonderful and gracious and friendly service, felt so at home, just lovely to be around. I would definitely shop there again just for her! The Grove has parking but it's usually paid, a few places validate, GAP will only validate with a larger purchase. read more

Came by for a pop up I attended and I was surprised by the wide range of items they offered however what I wasn't surprised with is the limited plus sizes they had at the time of my visit. The space was well utilized and large enough for a crowd, however the staff weren't too friendly but weren't mean either. They were there if you had to seek them and ask for assistance but they weren't greeting you or offering to help even when you walked around tirelessly in confusion on where to find an item. I have to give a huge shoutout to Francine at the Baby Gap in The Grove! Every time we visit, she makes us feel so welcomed and at home. She's incredibly warm, friendly, and especially sweet with my one-year-old daughter. My little one actually loves coming to this Gap because she looks forward to seeing Francine--who always greets her with a smile and makes her feel comfortable. It's rare to find someone in retail who genuinely connects with children as well as parents, and Francine is a natural at it. Beyond her kindness, Francine is also very knowledgeable. She's introduced us to staple pieces for our daughter's closet that I never would've thought to try, and her suggestions always end up being stylish, versatile, and practical. She has a great eye for what works and takes the time to personalize the experience, which makes shopping here so much more enjoyable. The store itself is also worth mentioning--it's always spotless, well-organized, and stocked with seasonal collections. The clothing quality is excellent, at reasonable prices... you can also tell the associates take pride in keeping everything neat and easy to shop. On top of that, the whole team is attentive and friendly, but Francine truly goes above and beyond. Thanks to her, Baby Gap has become one of our favorite stops for children's clothes. Had a horrible experience at this location. There was a blonde upper middle aged woman who was clearly a manager of some sort who was incredibly rude to my family. We came from out of town and my disabled grandmother purchased a coat. My mom did the payment, and after sliding the card my mom dropped it into a crack on the checkout station. Apparently the card was impossible to retrieve because supposedly the counter was "nailed into the ground" so there was nothing to be done. Obviously my grandma was upset and in denial about it, because anyone would be mortified and would try every possible solution to retrieving their credit card. This is where the rude middle aged manager comes in. It was obvious she was advising the employees through mics that there was nothing they could do. Honestly they probably could've done something, but again these people aren't paid enough to do something I suppose. My sister kept trying to see if she could see the card through the crack and the manager was extremely condescending and kept saying " sweetie, sweetie, give up" among other things. The manager then walks up to my grandma and loudly, without an ounce of tact, says "This happened to me two years ago, there was a family here who was from out of the country and they did the same thing and it was their only form of payment in the country and it was a way worse situation for them and there was nothing I could do to help them, again they were way more unfortunate in this situation and had to give up so it just is what it is and you can cancel it. It's not that serious." Extremely condescending, extremely rude. You would think someone who decided to make retail a career would know how to respond to an upset older woman and smooth things over. That woman doesn't know our situation, or if that was the only form of payment, etc. Mind you, my grandma, mom, and sister were being nothing but polite and helpful trying to problem solve and get the card. It wasn't like we were rude or disruptive, just trying to exhaust all solutions before giving up. There is a way to talk to people to dissolve a situation so the customer eventually moves on. There are a million ways to word things. While I too would be miserable being that age working retail during Christmas time, that isn't an excuse to have poor customer service skills and make a bummer situation worse. I hope this lady continues to have the life she deserves. read more

The game is this: a store at the grove has to pay a token amount for validating parking and they other send you to another store so they have to pay! Another day, another Gap... A quest for socks brought me to The Grove and I just had to see if this store was different. It was. Larger. Tidier. Slightly friendlier. Diverted from socks by 40%-off, ballet-style slippers, several associates walked on by as I struggled to try on a tethered pair. Probably figured I was close enough to the cash wrap not to steal and definitely didn't need a comfortable place to sit while determining size. Maybe I was supposed to use a fitting room? Ross, T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, I know the self-serve drill: don't expect much when not paying much but at the Gap? Hey, I still bought something from a pleasant cashier. However, while crouched down trying on shoes, if I hadn't observed another customer receiving Grove parking validation, I wouldn't have known to ask, as it wasn't offered. Gap is not one of my favorite stores, actually it's not even a store that I kind of like for myself. It's great for baby/kids gifts or socks and stuff. I was purchasing a gift for a friend's little girl. The store is HUGE with little to no sales personnel to help while shopping, they had two cashiers down stairs and the line was half way to the exit. The line was twice as long upstairs and to top it off this is the second time I visited a Gap store and according to Eric they were out of gift boxes. Who actually shops at the Gap for themselves? Any time you go to the Gap you need a box. I actually think I'm done shopping at the Gap even for gifts. Long lines, no customer service, and sub par merchandise - I'm done. read more

I don't really shop at the Gap often. I usually only go during a sale or to buy work out clothes. This location is better than the one at the Century City mall. I haven't been inside this location since the remodel. Now the first floor is for women, and the second floor is men, kids, and baby on the second floor. The remodel includes awkwardly placed fitting rooms. It also includes an attempt to be more green with cardboard hangers and the option of emailing your receipt. They have a decent selection of clothes and pants seem to run a little slimmer than average. The smaller men's department is a bit an after thought compared to the women's section. For instance, outwear selection for women is better than the men's selection. Some staff members are friendlier than others. With a store wide discount of 30% off, I left with two pairs of jeans and rain boots. read more

Just picked up two pairs of men's Japanese denim jeans on sale for $15 bucks a piece. Where else can you get some quality denim under $50 bucks in LA. The Gap. This location is two stories high. The also have a Gap Body right next door for the ladies. Gap body has undergarments, pj's, bras that kind of thing. First floor is split up for Men's and Woemen's. The second floor of for babies and kids/tweens. I never pay full price and can rely on The Gap to stretch my money. Come here for good selection and good guest service. I scored. read more

Right now the Gap at the Grove is under construction/remodeling down stairs so mens, womens, kids, babies, and maternity is ALL upstairs (which is normally kids + baby + maternity). This leaves a lot to be desired in my honest opinion. Downstairs it is actually someones job to stand there right next to the giant "THE STORE IS OPEN UPSTAIRS" sign, and point customers upstairs. Heck yes, you could gladly pay me to stand there all day if that is the hardest part of my job. There's always sales though, which is a good thing, especially for kids and baby. Today, for example, I got several pairs of baby socks for .99 each (and one pair for .47). I'm planning on donating these for a holiday sock drive so now I can do my good deed for the season and still get change back from a twenty. Can't wait to see the remodel. read more

Holy Moly this Gap is HUGE!!! I really liked this Gap - fantastic selection compared to most Gaps (although based on the size of the store, I would expect a lot of selection). I'm not a big fan of the Gap but I had a gift card from mom. Turned out everything was 40% off in the store. I really like all the shirts I got. Service was fairly helpful - deducting a star because the register is awkwardly placed in the middle of the store, and when a line builds up it becomes confusing. What a breeze Bernie made my visit. I lucked out at the Santa Monica store when I found the v neck women's jumpsuit on sale. There was only one left and I bought it. It fits perfect and is so comfy. The only problem is I wanted it in green too. No luck. The lines were long and the sales clerks were slow. They didn't offer me any help when I wanted to buy the jumpsuit in green. I left with the one black jumpsuit. So, today I was at Farmer's Market for lunch. I popped in The Gap location at the Grove. This is how it went. I was warmly greeted by Bernie. He asked what he could go for me. I was wearing the black jumpsuit and asked him if they had any left. He informed me they did not have anymore, but he could order it for me. What!?! Wondering why the SM store never mentioned that was even possible. He filled out an order form on his device with my email, my name, my US Mailing address. Easy peasy. Gave him my card (I decided to buy three more jumpsuits). He rang my card. He said FREE delivery will arrive in 5-7 days. And, validated my parking too. Bernie was great. He was nice. He was very helpful. He knew exactly what I wanted. I loved Bernie. Please make sure he sees my review. I'd give him a hundred stars if I could. read more

I have an off again/on again relationship with Gap. Sometimes I feel they are losing their style and quality, but other times I find some pretty cute stuff and for reasonable prices. This Gap is conveniently located, friendly staff, and overall pretty clean. Pros: -one store for all-women, men, Gap kids and baby all in one! -free parking at the Grove! One hour free without validation, 2 hours with! -great location at the Grove! - plentiful staff that were friendly and helpful -overall pretty well kept and organized even amongst the holiday shopping madness! Great sale on today. Extra 50 off sale items, so I bought a bunch of clothes for my niece's birthday. I got 2 dresses, 2 tops, 1 pair of leggings, and a bathing suit for a 2 year old for $64. Not a bad deal. I asked for a gift receipt and a box which the cashier gave me. Disappointed though because she just stuck everything in the bag. I guess I've been spoiled. Whenever I purchase gifts at the Baby Gap/Gap Kids in Century City, they always package the gifts for me snipping off parts of the price tags and wrapping ribbon around it and everything, and they also place the gift receipt in a small envelope inside the box. read more

Wow, what is happening to our economy when everything is half off if you buy something? Unfortunately, the gay boys vetoed the orange and pink argyle sweater I've been eying but were overly enthusiastic about the eggplant purse I didn't need. I would have gotten it but it was buy one item and get the other half off. And I didn't want to search for other things. There were a lot of shoppers though and only two people working the register. They need to put in more clerks so not everyone runs over to the lingerie counter to pay (really, cotton undies and PJs section). Overall, the store is strangely laid out to me. Everything is currently on the 2nd floor..so if you want to shop..either hike up the stairs or wait for the slow elevator. A decent store but horrible service. After speaking to an "experienced" associate regarding some items that needed return/refund, I was shocked to find out that she was the store manager. No please, smile, or thank you in our conversation. I have always walked away satisfied at other Gap. Disappointing this store at The Grove does NOT VALIDATE PARKING when you purchase here. I charged $190 in clothes, and asked for validation. The associate said they don't, but I could try Nordstrom across the courtyard. So, I took her advice, I asked for a refund of the $190 and went to Nordstrom. I wonder what Gap VP made a decision like this, and how many people just steer clear because of it. I can easily skip the Gap and Banana Republic at the Grove, there are plenty of other choices. read more

I'm writing this opinion from the male's point of view and I'm pretty disappointed. This used to be the best Gap around in terms of size and selection. They've now spun off about 15% of their store into Athleta, moved their men's department to include about 15% of their kids and babies department and inexplicably designed their open layout to be a series of walled off spaces thanks to new dressing rooms on 3 of 4 sides of the store. I realize the Gap is hurting and needs to try something new but really, is this going to help? read more

This GAP is huge and has a lot of merchandise. I also like how they carry their GAP Body line. The workers here are so friendly and accommodating. O-M-G. Terrible. Who would have ever thought a Gap would be so terrible? I went to Gap Body and picked out something for a gift. I went to the register. No one was in line. An employee came to the register and spoke to me briefly. She asked if I was making a purchase and I showed her the item. She then went to speak to another customer. I stood there for another 3-4 minutes until another employee came to me and asked if I was making a purchase. I told her I was and she said that register was closed. I was like, "That lady just talked to me. She couldn't have told me it was closed?" I picked up my item and went to the inside of Gap. There I made my purchase and asked the guy for a box. He said they didn't have any downstairs and I would have to go upstairs for it. I was a little surprised that he couldn't have just called it in through his walkee. In either case, I went upstairs to Baby Gap and told the other guy that I was told to pick up a box from upstairs. He said they didn't have any boxes. I told him I was just sent up. His exact words were, "Its not my fault." What sales rep says that? I told him he should let them know downstairs so that they don't send more customers upstairs. He once again said, "Its not my fault." Unbelievable! I went back downstairs and returned my item. Terrible! read more

Before the redoing of the store it was a 3 overall and compared to some Gaps a 4. But now.... The registers are these weird blocks in random spots in the store. The computer part is kinda under the surface, so at first glance it seems like maybe another display counter. The new hangers are cardboard, kinda flimsy, hard to sort through on the rack, and not the best at holding things-especially skirts. The clearance/sale section is a jammed up mess. And the music? Way too loud!!!! It was worse during the holidays, but still a problem. It's enough to make me leave if I don't see something I want to try on real quick. Yet I still return....because they are there at the Grove, right near the valet, so I often dash in on the way out or dart in first thing. And compared to other fashion stores the (BR, JCrew), it's not too pricey. I get basics ther-black tshirts, skirts, occasional sweater, and usually only when on sale. The styles often leave a lot to be desired. But it's a chain so I don't hold the individual store responsible. read more

Amazing staff and great selection! I came in looking for a gift and voilà! I was eagerly helped with great customer service and left with not only a full outfit for the giftee but a few goodies for myself! If your ever stuck in a rut they have an in-house stylist named Daniel who was amazing! I can't forget Angel and Ernie who were sweet hearts and went over and beyond to get the right sizes and even boxed my gift! Love it! I definitely will be returning! read more

This store is in need of some serious restaffing. I went there on a week day so I didn't expect it to be too busy but when I got there it was packed with a whole bunch of teenagers who probably just got out of school. They were being very noisy and rude and running around the store knocking things over. I started browsing the sale racks and I saw these two young girls who were trying things on in the aisles and not going into the fitting rooms which I found kind of inappropriate. So I went to go complain to the employee at the counter and he said that his manager was on his lunch break so he couldn't help me. I was outraged and felt like these people had no standards for the customer experience. They should spend more time training their employees and less time folding clothes in their respective stations. The manager needs to be in control of his store at all times. read more
