Granville is a solid place to eat, watch soccer, and meet new people. The food is better than you'd expect for bar food and the location is perfect to go to magbar or other places. Had a really good experience here! I came during Louisville burger week wanting to try as many new places as I could. Very happy I made this one of my stops. I partially chose this place because of the jalapeñ-yo business special. The spicy garlicky burger was calling my name, and I really delivered. The burger itself was very solid, and the accoutrements it came with were beautifully complimentary. I loved the dive-bar-but-with-higher-ceilings feel. Stopped in here with a friend on a Thursday night. We were carded (even though I'n 50!) and that's appreciated, honestly. The service at the bar was good, even though the server wasn't exactly sure which items from the menu were still available at that time. Just to be safe, we had the hummus and a flatbread pizza. The pizza was fine, but not special. The hummus had a certain whang to it. Was is going bad, or did it have some certain spice? I'm not a great taster, plus there had been a couple of beers at that point. The atmosphere, noise level, and price was all fine. We visited as a family on a Friday afternoon during happy hour which got us cheaper beer, fried pickles and chips with queso. The Granville Burger and fries are a fan favorite. The club is huge and my son loved it, but it didn't beat the burger. Our orders were accurate despite several modifications to toppings or asking for things on the side. This was my first time getting takeout from here rather than ordering in. And I thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The delivery was quick, and my food was still fresh and hot. I got a buffalo sandwich and it was cooked absolutely wonderfully. The chicken was so easy to cut through and the bread was toasted nicely. Now, the Mac n cheese is where they fell short. It's been a while since I've got mac & cheese from them, but I guess I forgot about the rotini noodles. Was not a fan of the noodles or the cheese sauce they used. Joe is the man. Because of his support, the Celtics won game 5. This bar is so cool. a great location has a huge backyard drinking/ dining area. They have a pool table and 7$ pitchers on Thursdays. Met some friends here for supper last Sunday after watching a documentary at the Speed Museum. I was quite surprised at how wonderful this local institution turned out. The service was wonderful and the food was on point . The grilled chicken wrap that I ordered was tasty. The wrap was as crispy and the seasoned fries were not greasy. For dessert I ordered the pretzel with caramel sauce. The sauce enhanced the warm pretzel wonderfully.Clean place with street parking. The drink special depends on what day it is. We live within walking distance and decided to try this restaurant on Sat July 13 around 12 pm. First point of disappointment was they didn't have coffee because they were "out of filters" for it. Then, we pointed out the espresso machine and asked if we could have some espresso instead. The waitress went and asked and the bartender said no to that too. Idk if that happened to be broken as well, but it would be a shame to not be using such a beautiful looking machine. Anyway, after debating leaving bc how do you not have coffee.... We order anyway and my hubby gets a Bloody Mary. It tasted just like tomato juice and could not taste the vodka, came with a slice of lime and lemon. Did not taste like it had any seasoning. Then, our omelette and breakfast sandwich came out with the bacon. The breakfast sandwich tasted like a cafeteria grilled cheese with egg on it, and was very salty on the outside, ended up only eating the inside cheese and egg on the second half. Our waffle and chicken came out a few minutes later, with one tender and no butter. The waffle explicitly said it came with 2 tenders. We told the waitress this and also realized our sandwich was supposed to come with potatoes. She said they were fixing it in the kitchen. She brought me a single pad of butter when I requested some butter for my waffle. Even though the waffle was not thick and did not look good, it ended up being okay. The chicken tender was the best thing we had. Hard to mess up fried chicken. Would not recommend this place, even though I do hear the burgers are good when NOT getting brunch. I came here after seeing a glowing review of their burger on Youtube. It's probably been 10 years since the last time I ate at The Granville, and here's how it went: My wife ordered a Granville burger cooked medium with tater tots. After applying whatever burger sauce came with it, she cut it in half and we could immediately tell it was way overcooked. Very well done. I broke off a corner piece of the burger and agreed. It was quite dry as a result of being cooked too long. The tater tots? They're tater tots. I ordered the fried buffalo chicken sandwich with pepperjack cheese, homemade chips, and a cup of chili. The chicken looked great and was cooked just right. The issue is the chicken itself didn't really taste like anything other than just "fried". I see myself typing this review and it seems a little petty, but the chicken didn't seem like it had any seasoning on the chicken itself, and not much in the breading. With the hot sauce applied, it literally just tasted like fried hot sauce. Don't get me wrong, I love hot sauce or else I wouldn't have ordered it. It just needed some character. The chips were good. The chili is basically just ground beef and beans with some chili seasoning. Probably Bloemers. Very, very basic stuff. And yeah, that's about it. It wasn't great, wasn't bad. It just was. Oh yeah, and the place absolutely reeked of cleaning solution. We got there about a half an hour after opening and it was clear they had just finished mopping the floors. They really ought to try and do this the night before so the smell has a chance to dissipate, or use something with this of a nauseatingly strong smell. read more

Things have greatly improved here since the COVID-19 pandemic. The inside looks the same but, much better and, social distancing is enforced. They even have a beer garden in the back with live music on the weekends. The food has gotten better and their menu has changed. I have had some of their food like their Chicken Tenders, Burger and Pizza. All are very good. Be sure to check out their Facebook for Everyday weekday specials. They are worth it. There are some new faces here staff wise and their customer service skills are awesome. I've had Chloe just about every time I have been here (Post Shutdown) and she has been an incredible server/bartender. I've been coming here many years off and on and I will continue to come many more. I'm very happy with some of their changes. One thing to keep in mind, you may experience a wait depending on how busy they are if you're dining in. It is definitely worth checking out now. read more

I used to come here to play pub trivia with some people I know. They have excellent pub food and decent service (especially at a busy bar!). Their burger is excellent and they have chicken tenders that really great. They offer a decent selection of side dishes as well. I am also a big fan of the fried pickles here. If you go on a trivia or karaoke night (Tuesday, Wednesday respectively the last time I checked) it will be PACKED. On the plus side, it's easy to find parking near the bar. read more

The Granville Pub is our go to place for burgers. I always get the bourbon bacon jam that comes topped with coleslaw and the cheese fries which have both a cheese sauce and melted cheese. My husband gets the Granville with pepper Jack and plain fries which he dips in the Granville sauce. Our go to drinks are a Guinness for him and the peach vodka slushy with a champagne topper. We have never been disappointed by a meal here. It is very noisy on trivia and local Bourbon Bacon Jam Burger game nights so we tend to avoid it during those times and late enough when it's more of a bar atmosphere. Service is also usually quite good but I've had to send a few things back to the kitchen for a quick fix. read more

I was only in Louisville for an hour or two, so eating locations were very limited, but I'm glad my friends found this spot near their home for us to kill time at. Walking towards it, it didn't look like they had outdoor seating, so we chose to eat inside. What was funny to see was their Hot Girl Summer vodka slushy special. I'll give them credit for that, they knew what they were doing haha Because as soon as my girl and I saw "hot girl" we had to do a double take and see exactly what was going on! Once in, my girl did order their Hot Girl Summer vodka slushy special, and absolutely loved it! She got the pina colada flavor (they clme in different flavors), and had said it was really good. Her fiancée had ordered their $5 IPA special that allowed you to take home the glass it came in, and he said that although it was bitter, it was a good kind of bitter hahaha. Our waitress was super nice and patient with us. I unfortunately forgot to get her name, but props to her for being so helpful! I was on a time crunch since I had to pick up my mom at the airport, and being that we were having dinner relatively early, I didn't want to get anything too heavy but also something that wouldn't typically be considered a proper meal. Our waitress had recommended me to get the chicken wrap that came with fries (not listed on the menu), and I was immediately sold! The chicken wrap comes grilled or fried, I got mine grilled. Inside the chicken wrap was lettuce, tomatoes, and a pesto basil mayo sauce. The wrap typically comes with onions too but I had that removed. The wrap and the fries were great! The fries weren't at all salty, and were cooked nicely and ready to eat! The food portions here are a little smaller than usual, so I'd definitely recommend getting an appetizer if you walk in here super hungry. All in all, this pub is a great hangout spot if you need a quick bite to eat or want to watch tv (they had several screens towards the back of the pub). I drive and walk past this spot a lot. So it was just a matter of time before I finally got to try it. I also didn't know until recently that they also have food. I thought it was just an Old Lou/UofL-adjacent dive bar. So since that was my expectation, I was pleasantly surprised! Let me be clear: this is a dive-y sports bar. The food is going to be sports bar food, and they had a small selection of beers. Nothing too fancy or different. You know what to expect from here. We walked in and seated ourselves at a table in the middle of everything. It was pretty empty, so we didn't have to wait long at all until someone came over with menus and to take our drink orders. We each got a Blue Moon with an orange slice, and put in an order of potato skins. The beer was cold and hit the spot, the skins were alright. I've had better, sure. But they were just fine. I ultimately ordered a Bacon & Bleu burger. It was absolutely delicious. Juicy, a lot of cheese, crispy bacon. A really great burger for a really great price! As my side I got the cole slaw which, honestly....was a bad idea. It didn't taste good at all. I was able to share some fries from the person I was with. They were great. Lesson learned...stick with fried food at places like this, lol! Service was wonderful. Cara is a great server. She always made sure our glasses were full, or checked to see if we needed a refill. She was patient, friendly, and wasn't too present or too absent. She was there when we needed her to be, and left us to our own devices when we didn't need her. A+!! I was pleased as punch with my visit here. I may not come back often, because there are plenty of other similar-ish places closer to my neighborhood. When I told a girlfriend we took my dad to the Granville Pub for Father's Day, her eyes got really wide and she said "...why?" Well, I had asked on Facebook for people's favorite burger in Louisville, and two guys said this was the spot. Like the first friend in this story, they'd both gone to UofL, so I realized that I was taking a risk - perhaps those guys' recommendations were tainted by nostalgia. My girlfriend asked me if there was writing on the walls in the bathroom (no), so I'm thinking the Granville has come a long way in the last 10 years or so. We were there at noon on a Saturday. It was not busy at all. The service was excellent, and the food was great. Like I said, Dad wanted a burger. I believe he had the Tijuana, as did I. My husband and I actually went halfsies with our entrees, him eating half my burger and me eating half of his Ragin' Cajun chicken sandwich. Mom had the Granville Burger. The burgers were good, cooked to order, but kind of what we expected. The chicken breast was surprisingly good. We had started with fried pickles & loaded fries, and shared all our sides around as well (onion rings, smoked potato salad, fries). Oh, and we got a club sandwich to share because Mom was being indecisive - it was good too. The only criticisms I really have are that the appetizer portions were a bit small, and we were charged a dollar for "no cheese" on the Granville Burger. The potato salad was only okay. The high spots were the aforementioned chicken sandwich (really flavorful & moist) and the fried pickles - the breading was thinner than is typical for a fried pickle so they felt nice and light. Dad was pleased that the burger was a good size and constructed so that he could pick up with his hands (no knife & fork needed). All in all, this is a really solid spot! No longer a dive bar - actually a place you can take the fam. We'd be back if we were in the mood for solid bar food. read more

My order: Granville Burger, not sure it came with the toppings it was supposed to but it was tasty and prepared correctly and at $11.99 worth it (came with some decent fries) Cheese Balls: let the price gouging begin. The picture speaks a thousand words, is that amount of cheese ball worth $7.50? The taste? Fried Gordon food service type balls. I ordered "extra" Mariana sauce which is interesting because that was the only sauce I got. They should state that it does not come with anything to dip the balls in. They let in numerous underage people and were not IDing at the door. The drinks were virtually undrinkable and all the bartenders were extremely rude. The bathrooms were disgusting someone threw up and it was not cleaned up at all. read more
