Garage Door Masters salesperson, Alec, was extremely knowledgeable about what would work best for fixing or replacing our broken garage door. He gave us two estimates, one to fix and replace a panel with attachments, and one for a total replacement. What I particularly liked about Alec was that he was not "pushy" about a total replacement. Another garage door company told me that replacing a panel was not an option and that a totally new garage door was the only way the door could be fixed. Hmmmm... Ultimately, we decided to use Garage Door Masters due to Alec's expert knowledge, integrity, and willingness to help. In fact, we had our new door installed within a couple of days! I requested an estimate @ 7 pm on a Tuesday nite. Orrin contacted me 30 minutes later and got me scheduled for the next day. He communicated with me when he could meet earlier, which helped me considerably. He was waiting on me whn I got home. He was clean cut and in a company shirt, and I felt at ease. His estimate was wayyyyy less than I thought it would be b/c I royally messed my garage door up. He was willing to fix it then, but since I needed to wait for payday, he scheduled me for then. When I was able to pay sooner, he accommodated me by getting me in the very next day, when it was convenient for me. He fixed my door, explained what he did and showed me where to lubricate the various apparatus' on the door when I asked, within an hour. A total scam! They will lie to your face! Horrible. I have a garage door that was buckling. It worked fine, but looked a bit funny. So I called Garage Door Masters. They charged me $225 for 15 minutes work and fixed nothing (Ok, they bolted on a sagging weather strip). So, I was told the spring (i.e., maybe it was too tight?) was fine and that they could fix the buckling door. He said all he had to do is add a brace....Ok. He added the brace and nothing changed (Door still buckled). Then he went on to say..."The door works fine." I looked at him and said. "The door worked fine before you arrived." Then....then he changed his story. THE NEW STORY was a panel was bent and that I needed to replace a panel on the garage door or get a new garage door. I was shocked...had I know that the only was to fix the door was an expensive replacement of one of the panels--I would have done nothing...because after a $225 fix--nothing was fixed. It was Saturday afternoon about 3:30pm. I hopped in the car, ready to drive out of the garage and press on my door opener. The garage went up two inches and stopped. Pressed the button again and it came back down. My car was trapped in the garage. Went inside and looked up some repair services and hoped someone would be able to assist on Saturday afternoon. Called one 24/7 place and they said no appointments until Monday. Well that us not 24/7. Then I called Garage Door Masters. A human answered, took my info and said a tech would call me in a few minutes. They actually did call! We discussed the problem with the garage and they gave me their arrival time. They tech, George, arrived promptly and jumped right into the work. I was I impressed that he was totally prepared to even include the replacement parts. He worked diligently, replaced the spring, upgraded me to the dual spring, and finished the repair in about a hour. He was very pleasant and we chatted the whole time, I was curious to learn about the install so I watched. He did not seem to mind, which I appreciated. He did an excellent job and I am very satisfied with the service and timeliness of the repairs. I would recommend giving them a shot if your garage fails or needs repairs. read more
