They were on time and very efficient. They repaired the door and it is much better than before it broke.

The install and sale were fine, Joseph seemed honest. We really liked meeting him and his son, looked forward to doing b usiness on several more garage doors. Did a super fast install. But, he installed the weather stripping wrong. Our garage door wouldn't close or open properly. When I asked him to come back out, he said he had too many other jobs, and would come out *if* he was nearby, but did not know when. Then one day he showed up when I was not there, and said he could not wait 30 minutes for me to get there, and would not come back later in the day. He says his wife handles his scheduling, so I emailed asking to be put on the schedule to complete the job. His wife emailed me back aggressive and insulting, saying it was my fault for not wanting the guy who didn't install it right the first time to do it again with me not there. WELL OF COURSE I wanted to be there to make sure it actually works this time. This could have been easily solved by either A-installing it right the first time, or B-simply calling ahead to let me know he was on the way... instead of just showing up unannounced and trying to get away with unfinished work again. THEN he blocked my phone number, and she blocked my email. Joseph will not service what he sells, and his wife/manager is the same. Avoid doing business with this guy. read more

My fellow Yelpers, if you have a problem with your garage door, call the Garage Guru. No need to look further! In my experience, this family-owned business is beyond honest and not looking to jack up prices.  I called them today when my garage door hung on me and wouldn't close. Not only did they fix a minor spring issue and put a wheel back in alignment, they didn't charge me. Why? Because it didn't take him no time at all. I was beyond touched ESP since money has been tight and the last thing I needed was an unexpected expense. I've read other reviews of customers who experienced the same kindness. Joseph did explain to me how my garage door was getting heavy for the spring and will need to be replaced in the future. He also showed me the plastic brackets that were broken. He gave me a low estimate for a spring replacement (they use metal brackets instead of the flimsy ones like mine that broke) and with a lifetime warranty. It is a great deal. I will indeed call Garage Guru in the future for all my garage issues and maintenance and I highly recommend you call them too. read more

Husband got home from work and the garage door wouldn't open! After some research he called Garage Guru. Since the car was already outside there was no reason for an evening appointment, but they were here at apx 8:30 the next morning. The broken spring was replaced within an hour, but also revealed another future problem. We have an 18' wide garage door vs traditional 16' and the builder's grade door's starting to sag. Eventually it'll quit working! It also explains why it gets hung up occasionally. He gave me a quote for a replacement, but no pressure sales tactics were used. Our 17 year old garage door opener quit working leaving my wife's car on the driveway. I was looking for someone that would be willing to come to Lytle and see if they could fix it. I read the 5 star Yelp reviews for Garage Guru and even though I was outside their coverage area shown, I gave them a call. I called them Monday to see if they would come out to Lytle and they said yes. They told me that they could be here between 8:00 and 8:30AM on Tuesday. Tuesday morning At 8:10 AM Joseph was standing on our front porch. He looked at our old garage door opener and said he could try and fix it if we wanted but he couldn't guarantee how long it would work. He gave me a price on a new Liftmaster with two controllers and an outside keypad that was $30.00 cheaper than another company I called. I authorized the work and in less than an hour they were done. They were quick and professional. When my other 17 year old opener eventually dies I know just who to call. The only recommendation I would make to Garage Guru is to update your service area map.
