Harris was a very personable and friendly salesman, not pushy and answered knew all my questions about the car. We were very close on price and Gary, the manager, stepped over. Specifically the service center! Installed damaged part on my car and horrible service. First of all this was supposed to be a 3 day warrenty repair on a brand new car (simple roof panel swap on a bronco 6 screws) I just purchased my car was kept for two weeks because even though I said don't take it until you have all the parts they didn't do that. I wasnt kept updated and when I was finally on the way to get my vehicle after two weeks (after multiple calls and having to confirm myself I could go pick it up) they called me when I was 15 minutes away to tell me the parts they installed were damaged. Had the car for two weeks and they didnt inspect the parts they installed? I was told "thats not their policy." Absolute trash service department. I have called every week for four weeks and sometimes two or three times a week. talked to a different person each time for an appointment to get the coating. No luck. Do not take your vehicle here for any service. I purchased a warranty with my truck that included maintenance. In an effort to save a trip to my preferred dealer, I decided to give Garber Ford a shot at doing the maintenance on my truck. I use a higher quality oil in my truck so I provided it to them when I dropped my truck off. I gave them 3.5 gallons of oil (14 quarts) for my truck. The day after dropping it off I got a message stating I needed to provide more oil to complete my oil change. They claimed they needed 13 quarts of oil but only had 12 quarts from me. When I told them that was not possible because I gave them 14 quarts, they told me the tech must have not seen the other gallon of oil that I provided. A gallon of oil is 4 quarts. if they didn't find my gallon of oil, then they should have been asking me for 4 more quarts of oil not just 1. After the oil change fiasco, they called me back and told me they needed to do $2500 of maintenance on my truck. They claimed my rotors were paper thin and that I needed a full brake job. I've worked around cars and trucks long enough to know what was going on, so I questioned them about it. My truck has only had 20k miles put on it since I bought it. There's no way my rotors were paper thin. When I called them out, they mysteriously came back and said "oh that was our mistake , your rotors do not need to be turned or replaced ". They then told me they still wanted to do $1500 in maintenance to my truck. I told them to pack sand. Upon picking my truck up they then tried charging me for a $200 "diagnostic" fee. This was never discussed with me and I was completely blindsided by the absurd charge. When I explained everything to them, they eventually agreed to waive the charge. I will never take any of my vehicles, nor will I ever recommend anyone take their vehicles to this shop. They will try to swindle you out of money with BS charges and ghost services. read more

Scheduled a service appointment because my windshield wiper fluid was not shooting out fluid. Appointment was scheduled at 7am. Dropped it off promptly at 7am. Explained what was going on. Waited there until noon. Finally asked politely for an update. Service writer Jay who could care less tells me it's still in diagnostics. I asked what that means and he said they have 20-30 vehicles their working on and the are waiting to find out what is wrong (ie-the pump, the tube is clogged, etc) so I asked what they've been doing the last 5 hours and he said the tech hasn't diagnosed yet, so I had someone come pick me up and I asked him to call me when they find out what's wrong. Fast forward to 4pm. Still hadn't heard from anybody so I called because they close at 6pm and I still have had zero communication. Jay tries to give me the same song and dance that they have a a lot of cars they're working on. I told him that's unacceptable and I needed either a diagnostic answer or when is my truck going to be ready answer because I need it to drive to work tomorrow. He came back and explained that the tech is getting ready to work on 4 cars and mine is one do them. So they've had my car now for 9hrs and still haven't even looked at it. I told him to pull the ticket and I'll take it to a different Ford service department that actually cares. Never bringing my truck here again. I had my oil pan gasket on my 2009 Ford Mustang replaced 25 months ago and it is going bad again but is out of warranty. The previous gasket was factory installed and lasted 14 years but a new gasket is failing after just 2 years? We put only 1000 miles on her in that time period and she is kept in the garage. I don't think it was fixed right the first time. Never going back there again. I don't trust them. You shouldn't either. read more

DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!!!! I've gone twice, once in September because of a brake issue and I was told my rotors and pads needed to be replaced & was charged an incredible $700+ just for the front half of my truck to be fixed, and was told by another company that my rotors looked completely fine and only needed go replace my pads. I had to come back last week because I started having a brake squeaking issue & wanted to see if it occurred at Garber, and gave them my father's phone number to call if they had any issues/concerns as I would be at work. Not only did they NOT call my father and called me REPEATEDLY while I was at work, but they also checked my back brakes and told me my rotor was dangerously cracked and my brake fluid line needed a flush and charged me $160 for a diagnostic fee, which I was NOT WARNED I would be charged prior. I just took my truck to a different brake repair shop who told me GARBER LIED AGAIN that my rotor was "dangerously cracked" and that my issue was the fluid line had busted all along and NOBODY at Garber had noticed that or bothered to tell me and decided to rip off an already broke college student. I took it to the other company that did my rear end and they found that a brake fluid piston was grinding, not getting enough fluid and was causing my issue, and even the service people there commented that if they had taken all four of my tires of and REALLY looked at my vehicle, they would've noticed this immediately and pointed this out as the problem, nor did they find any crack in my rotor like I was told. It sounds like either your service people have no fucking idea what they're doing, or they know exactly what they're doing and don't care about dedication to customers and their safety and prioritize profit for their stupid fucking company. I am literally NEVER coming to another Garber location for the REST of my life, I hope something comes to bite y'all in the ass for ripping off customers like this and preying on people who are trying to fix their vehicles, like the other reviews I unfortunately read after my visit in which you guys are ripping off elderly people and holding vehicle without giving return dates to working people to need them. Would recommend 100 times - found a recall on my Ford Escape and Garber Ford had my car fixed in under 24 hours! I had originally called a Ford closer to me and they couldn't take my car in for a week out. I called Garber Ford after work to see if they could do anything sooner...they said they'll take it as soon as they can get my vehicle in the next day (it was already evening time) so I left it overnight with the keys in the dropbox and my car was fixed, no charge since it was a recall, within the next day. do not come here for service or repairs! a warranty repair that should have taken a day has turned into 10 days with no end in sight. I've told them multiple times I have to pick the car up I even asked them to just put it back together without the repair because I need the car back. but they have continued to ignore the request and now that I need the car no later than today they tell me that it's not possible to pick it up today. so guess we are suppose to loose our jobs or flunk out of college because they can't give us our car back. sure we can get a rental but due to age restrictions the rental cannot be driven by the owner of the car so that does us no good. ive stressed multiple times over the 10 days how we need the car back by today even talking to managers and still i can't pick up the car I own. i just don't understand how it is legal for them to hold your property hostage for an indefinite amount of time after they promised it would be returned to you multiple times. read more

Well checked in and discovered that their shuttle doesn't take its customer's to Mandrine. Well I may have to find a new place for service to my Ford Focus. They took care of my recall transmission issue on my 2012 Focus in about 2.5 hours. Hope they expand their shuttle service to us folks across the St.Johns river. I live in St Augustine, FL and was shopping for a new Ford F-150 truck to lease. I started with trying to make a deal with our local dealership but, unfortunately, that did not work out. In fact, they actually told me I couldn't lease a Ford truck because the residuals were too high and that I would have to buy one on an 84-month purchase. I have never kept any vehicle for more than three years and had no interest in an 84-month purchase. The actual vehicle I wanted was at a dealership in Orlando, FL and was the vehicle we were working the deal on. I then called Garber Ford and made a fairly good lease deal with the salesperson. I then called back the local dealership to tell them what Garber Ford was offering me on a lease since they had told me I couldn't lease one. They took the numbers and shortly thereafter I received a call from a new car manager telling me that if I could get that deal, take it, because he couldn't do it and didn't believe Garber could either. I reached back out to Garber to verify the number before I went over there and was assured they were accurate. The deal was a 36-month lease for $562.50 + $36.56 tax for a total of $599.06, with $1151.00 down. Since the new car manager at my local dealership told me to take it because he couldn't do it, I made an appointment to go in and get the deal. Unfortunately, I ended up in the ER on that day and was unable to make the appointment. I emailed my salesperson at Garber Ford to let him know I would be later than originally planned and he assured me the numbers we agreed to were still good. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from the new car manager at Garber Ford telling me he was going to have that vehicle on his lot the next day. However; he was now saying the total price was going up by about $4000.00, they changed from giving me $28,500 for my trade down to $26,000.00, the down payment went up to $1225.00, and the lease payment went up to $632.00 + $44.00 tax for a total of $676.00 per month. He was also very rude about it and basically told me to take it or leave it. This is not how you treat customers at all, and they lost the deal with me as a result. I actually ended up going to Sun State Ford in Orlando the next day, after making a deal over the phone with them the night before. They stuck to their word and turned out to be the best dealership I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with in 54 years. As it turns out, Garber Ford is actually the worst dealership I have dealt with in 54 years. They, in my opinion, have no idea what Customer Service means and didn't care about me personally at all. In contrast, my salesperson from Sun State Ford actually called me to ensure my wife and I had made it home to St Augustine safely from Orlando. Not only that, he still calls to ensure we are happy with our vehicle and that all is well. read more

LIARS AND THEIVES!! Tried to take advantage of an elderly woman. My mother-in-law, an elderly disabled woman, brought her vehicle into this service department with a burning smell concern. they kept her vehicle for several days and then told her she needed about $2500 in repairs for several oil leaks. When she questioned the estimate, she was told that she HAD to do the repairs or else her car was going to catch on fire. There is NO TRUTH to this and was merely a scare tactic to convince a confused elderly woman to approve a bogus job. She was bullied into approving the work. Afterwards she contacted my wife who told her to call them back and tell them she wanted a second opinion. They then told her that there was no backing out now because they had already torn the vehicle down and waiting for parts. So, after being told that, my wife and I drove up to the dealerships. Surprise!!!!There was her car still sitting in the parking lot UNTOUCHED!!! So, we walked into the service adviser area and when we asked the advisor why he lied to her, He immediately jumped up in an aggressive manner and stuck his fingers in my face and started yelling about how He's not going to tolerate being called a liar. I then approached the service manager who told me if I cancelled the job that he was going to charge me for re-stocking fees. He also made the statement that If I called him a liar, I was not going to like the man he becomes. Implying yet another threat. At this point we took the vehicle. We then had it checked out by another reliable trustworthy mechanic. As it turns out, not a single thing quoted by Garber was accurate. One small leak was found that was dripping on exhaust and creating the burning smell. Nothing that would "catch on fire" and only cost a fraction of what Garber tried to rip her off for. In addition, we got in contact with a member of upper management who assured us that it would be handled. He advised that all phone calls are recorded, and there is video surveillance as well. The next day we had to reach out to this person again who suddenly changed his tune. Conveniently there were suddenly no recording and no video. Imagine that. Moral of the story, I highly advised against ANYONE trusting ANY member of this establishment as they are all crooked from the top to the bottom. read more

Garber Ford Service is the absolute worst place to take your car for service. I went February 16th for an oil change and headlight to be changed. They broke my car. Somehow, they deactivated all the sensors that beep and light up when I get near things. In every conversation with them, they are condescending. I have been told numerous times that it is "just a setting," but their techs had the car again when I took it back to be fixed for over an hour and could not fix it. Since then, February 18th, they have not called or contacted me to have a loaner car so they can take mine back in. When I call, they just say they have no loaner cars for me. After I wrote a review, the manager called, said they would get it in right away. That was February 27th. It is now March 9th, and I have heard nothing from them. They broke my car about a month ago ... and they are doing NOTHING. Previous experiences have been poor, but we keep going back because it is close. We have truly never taken it in without having to go back for something that was not correct the first time. read more

2nd time taking my F250 in for simple oil change and tire rotation. Had appointment at 830am, showed up a few minutes early, took 1 hour and 45 min....why make an appointment? Same issue this time as last, yes they screwed up yet again, they don't set tire pressures correctly to manufacture recommendations as indicated on sticker in door jam. I guess they are consistent? Poor poor leadership in the service department. I didn't buy from them thankfully and now I can't even get basic service done nor will I recommend. If this site had a minus 0 it would be selected, because this is what I would rate Garber Ford. After being a customer for 19 years I can honestly say I have received the absolute worst customer service these past two years. I thought perhaps they were just busy, over looked some things. However, the last experience today shocker. I called for a problem with my 2009 F150. This time I was told by Casey, they would only consider working on my vehicle with Eric, the Service Managers approval? I said What? Is this because you didn't fix our 1993 Ford Truck correctly the first time? Then when it had to come back you let the truck sit for six weeks and didn't fix it. We finally out of sheer desperation told them to just fix the front end leaks and put the truck back together. We took it from Garber directly the Clay County Transmission where is was completely fixed 2 days later. [We own six vehicles so we have always brought our multiple vehicles to Garber for service. NOT ANY MORE!!!! Previously, I was told the 1993 Ford was fixed. I was by myself and went to the hunting camp miles away and in deep woods. No cell service, no GPS for tracking and the truck started over heating. I was by myself in the deep woods with a huge 4WD running hot AGAIN (after I was told it was fixed), with no way to contact for help and certainly no way to call for roadside assistance. Thank goodness a man found me in the middle of the woods on a trail and directed me back to the hunting camp. Another fellow hunter followed me back out that night in his Chevy 4WD 3500 just in case my truck couldn't make it back to the main road. Needless to say it unsettled me to know that I was ALONE IN THE WOODS WITH A TRUCK THAT I WAS TOLD WAS FIXED THAT I COULD NOT GET A TOW FOR AND SURE AS HELL DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX A 4WD. Yes I had my gun and gator aide to drink, but none the less - the actual truth came out - they never fixed the leaks and did not check the fluid levels. I trusted them when I was told it was fixed, that's a hell of a position to put a lady in. Needless to say I took the truck back the following day. After confronting the head mechanic in the truck shop - I told him I knew from now on, if I ever had to bring my truck in again I'd pop my own hood and check all the fluid levels again to make sure they were at the correct levels so I as a woman would not ever potentially be stranded again in the woods. They then let the truck sit for 6 weeks and never fixed it. As stated above we finally took the truck to Clay County Transmission where it was properly fixed within 2 days!!!! Oh it gets worse. My sons truck had an issue about the same time as the 1993 went back in for the second time. His truck is a F150 2007. It took them 2 weeks to fix what turned out to be a rear end issue with a HUGE REPAIR Bill. During that time he was driving my 2009 F150 Truck. While it is not common for multiple vehicles to have a mechanical problem at the same time. The inevitable happened. My husband left on a business trip. He took our 2018 Ford Focus (also bought from Garber) to the airport. Needless to say he was going to be gone for 3 weeks, so God only knows where that vehicle was parked at JIA) and I had no way to retrieve it. At this point, I have two trucks at Garber (waiting to get fixed) and my son driving the other one, mine a 2009. I told him no problem. I'll drive the Trans Am. So I took that vehicle. I also might mention this is a mint condition vehicle that is rarely driven. After driving it for two days, I went to pull it in the garage and the transmission went out - no warning. No signs. Nothing. Just went out. I called Ron the next day and explained my dilemma. I had 3 vehicles down, and the other I was not able to retrieve, as it was at JIA. MUCH TO MY SHOCK I WAS TOLD - WELL WE CANT TAKE YOUR TRAN-AM IN BECAUSE TWO OF YOUR TRUCKS ARE TAKING UP OUR BAYS? I said, really???? Then fix the damn trucks so they won't be in your bays!!! I ended up calling Clay County Transmission once again, and had the Trans Am towed in to them. It was back within 2 days fixed and running perfectly. Note both trucks were still in the shop unfixed!!!! My son finally ended up getting his truck back with a HUGE Repair bill over $1700 for the rear end. That's a lot for a 17 almost 18 year old to pay, but he paid it because it's his vehicle. Finally after repeatedly calling Ron about the 1993 and getting one excuse after another my husband and I told them "Fix the damn leaks!" Put the truck together and we will take it somewhere else to have it fixed. We did and paid over an $1800 repair bill. Then today, 10/7/19 my truck the 2009 F150 4x4 had lights come on the dashboard indicating braking system failure, ABS Failure and Brake Sensor. I took the truck to a brake shop and dropped it off. They called to let me know they could fix one sensor however, the other needed a Ford Dealer. See top paragraph. read more

We bought a new Ford F150 from Garber and overall it was a disappointing experience. Even though we had a firm total purchase price of a selected truck when it came down to driving over an hour to pay for and pick up the truck they played the shell game with us on surprise dealer add-ons such as a window tinting we were told they had tinted the windows and we had to pay for it. They didn't look to be third party tinted so I insisted on it being confirmed by their service manager and when he showed up we were told that as far as he knew the windows were tinted when they received the truck and not done at the dealership. Then since our purchase price was contingent on getting Ford financing this was used as a leverage on us we could buy options such as expensive upholstery treatments or get a higher interest rate our choice and we were told a strange fee of hundreds of dollars was a required state fee when we got home and researched it we found out it was just a clever dealer markup and it had nothing to do with the state. When I contacted the sales manager Dave about this he told me we got a good deal on the truck and the deal was final even though they had outright lied to us on the additional fee. Yes we received a nice truck at a good price but yet they find a way to give you a bad taste in your mouth as you drive home in your new truck the last thing we are going to do is take advantage of the free car washes they offer since we will never even pull onto their lot again even for free stuff. read more

Since I purchased my Ford I've only used Garber service to service my car (except tires) and they have always been accommodating and very nice and quick. I don't care that Garber is in Green Cove Springs and it's a little bit of a drive. The service guys are always very nice and explain to me what is needed and always ask permission to go ahead with the corrections. Bought a very nice Ford Taurus from the used car dept. Love the car, price was fair. I have enjoyed driving it. I had to take it in for service as well as another issue I was having, since Garber is a little further than I wanted to drive, I took it to another Ford dealership. There I found out the extended warranty I had purchased wasn't at all what I was lead to believe. Instead of a manufacture extended warranty, it is an off market warranty that can only be used at Garber. Wow, how about that, what a DEAL... FOR THEM! I few other things I had found in the contract that I was not to happy with, cost me extra money I really could not afford, but I figured it was a good lesson for me to learn. But this, I am really upset about. I should have taken the 2 days it normally takes to read all the small print before signing on the dotted line, silly me. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. Had a very disappointing experience with our truck. Brought the truck in for problem with clutch. They told us the clutch needed to be replaced at over $1600, We knew that wasn't what was wrong. We picked it up and had it repaired somewhere else for half that...slave & master cylinder were replaced. Clutch works great now! Garber also charged us almost $100 to give us incorrect diagnosis. read more

I had an intermittent problem with my rearview backup camera on my 2016 Ford Expedition while still under warranty. I video taped the problem every time it happened. The first time they kept it several days and changed out the camera itself. The problem continued and again they changed out the camera, with no resolution of the problem. The third time I called a friend who has worked in the service department of Ford for over twenty years. He suggested that I have them check the connections, because it sounded like a connection problem. I made this suggestion and they kept my car another 3 days and I was told that my computer needed to be reset, which they did knocking out all my hands free telephone programming. I drove away and stopped about 10 miles away. When I put the car in reverse it started happening again. I drove right back with it. After three days I checked on it again and it had not even been looked at, at which point I made arrangements to take it to another service department which indeed, checked the connections and had it fixed after keeping it three days. Garber only offered me a courtesy car the third time. This has been a nightmare! read more
