The party was held outdoors in their pretty yard under a tent. Shuckin Truck was an absolute hit! They set up the outdoor raw bar...clams (littlenecks), oysters, and shrimp on ice, in a very attractive manner. The table was manned by a charming "shucker". There were an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres which included lobster grilled cheese lobster triangles...these were indescribably delicious. Everyone was oohing and aahing over these. I also loved the smoked salmon on toast and the small cups of really tasty clam chowder. All the appetizers were incredibly delicious although I would say the lobster grilled cheese was the biggest hit. All of the staff were polite and friendly. After the appetizer round, the lobster rolls came out and they were simply spectacular. They were true New England lobster rolls on toasted square edged (this is key) frankfurter buns, and absolutely stuffed with chunks of delicious lobster meat that had been lightly dressed with mayo. Those rolls were out of this world, deliciously prepared and very generously filled with sweet lobster meat. They also served fabulous fish tacos. For the non-seafood eaters of which there were none at this party, they served a pulled pork taco which was spicy and delicious. The portions were generous and the food just kept on coming out. While there was plenty of additional food at this party from other vendors as well as some homemade additions, Shuckin' Truck was my favorite part of the overall feast. Great job! After the fact is was explained to me that some people order, but want to enjoy the grounds first and wait to have their order prepared. That doesnt make sense to me, because you could enjoy the grounds, then stand in line to order, but it would have been nice to have some explanation of that. So we wait for our order, and only the chowder, baguette & shrimp cocktail come out, she says my number will be called again when the rest is ready. So my stuffed clams take another 10-12 and in the time im waiting my chowder is now luke warm. The chowder was passable, not great, but not horrible. The baguette was soft and not crispy, served cold with rock hard butter. The 6 shrimp were of varying sizes, only 1 of which would have been considered Jumbo. $14 for 6 is a bit of a stretch. The stuffed clams weren't cooked through, and the breading was still "soupy" in the middle. Not a place I would consider returning to.
