Not knowing where to eat on Good Friday, we decided to try a small hole-in-the-wall spot after reading several positive reviews. There are a few things worth noting. First, the restaurant is quite small with a very quiet atmosphere--surprisingly so, especially with a jukebox that wasn't in use. The space didn't feel particularly clean, and the chairs were outdated and could definitely use some refurbishing. When we received the menus, I was honestly shocked by the prices. This is something I wish more reviewers had mentioned. We ordered a shrimp tostada (about $13) and shrimp fajitas (around $24). The shrimp tostada was disappointing--the shrimp was chopped so finely that it was hard to tell it was even there. It was overwhelmed by cucumber, tomato, and cilantro. The fajitas were similarly underwhelming: the shrimp were cut in half and curled up, with maybe around ten pieces total, but there was an excessive amount of large-cut onions and bell peppers, which made the dish less enjoyable. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the horchata we ordered was excellent. I did mention that the bell peppers were overabundant and cut too thick, but my feedback didn't seem to go anywhere. One concern I had was seeing staff handle multiple tasks--taking payments, cleaning tables, and serving food--without ever noticing handwashing, which was a bit off-putting. I'm not completely writing this place off, as I'd like to return and try their breakfast. Most reviews are positive, so perhaps this was just an off night. Still, given today's prices, I expect the quality to match. Beans were bland and rice was cold, I'm sure made way ahead of time. I'll update my thoughts after a second visit--judge for yourself in the meantime. read more

Really enjoyed my food and service today. To be honest a lot of the Mexican food in Paso is pretty much the same. This spot the beans rice and chili verde where different and it was good. My only issue is outside of having a lunch special this place is pricey. Lunch is priced right. Other food is to much for me. It's a clean place and service was great and friendly. read more

We ordered taco, burritos, and torta a la carte. Tacos are loaded with meat and cilantro and onion. Salsas were yummy and chips and salsa provided while you waited. Would definitely frequent this establishment again if we weren't from out of town. read more

Very good traditional Mexican taqueria. Reminds me of a small taco place in Puerto Vallarta. Lots of classic dishes. My favorites are the carne asada tacos and chicken enchiladas. Great homemade salsas. Not Americanized foods, if that is what you are looking for. read more

Located in a small shopping area with another 4 Mexican joints. I went in for Taco Tuesday and the prices were $2 a taco. They were not bad but definitely not the best for the price. The ups side is that it came with chips and salsa. I thought the pastor was better than the Asada. I will have to come back and try the other goodies on the menu. read more

A legit Taco Tuesday spot with $1.50 tacos! Plus great chips and salsa. The first salsa they give you is more like chunky tomato sauce, but after we ordered food they brought over some jugs of legit green and red salsa that hit the spot. I got lengua (they have lengua!) tacos and one asada. The asada was a bit fatty, but the lengua was real good. Juicy and not too dry. My friends got al pastor and I was jealous as they looked amazing. That was it, tacos, chips and salsa. The whole meal cost me $10 with tip haha. Amazing. We're coming back here for sure. They menu was actually quite large and they make a ton of items. The place was pretty empty but there was non-stop to-go orders so I'm guessing that is the staple here. My husband and I wanted a restaurant that had taco Tuesday. One of the pictures they have on their site showed taco Tuesday....1.50 tacos. When we arrived I asked the server if they had taco Tuesday. She said no. So I pointed out to her that the Yelp site and Google site said they had Taco Tuesday. She just shrugged her shoulders. Well we left and went elsewhere. Ordered the menudo. Owner asked me if I wanted Hominy. I said sure. Got a little bit of hominy in the Menudo then saw the extra charge of $2.50 on my bill later. So if he asks you if you want it, be aware there's an extra (significant) charge for it. read more

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS NOT FOLLOWING COVID-19 PANDEMIC. During these times, I always try to help out small business owners. Today was horrific. I am from Los Angeles, and was in Paso Robles for work, and got the craving for Menudo. I called, went in and ordered. I noticed that the gentlemen taking the orders, wasn't wearing a mask. I ordered, because he wasn't going to prepare my food. I asked if I could use the restroom, I went to use it. As I was walking into the restroom I noticed that the ladies preparing the food were not wearing masks or gloves. I wasn't going to ask for my money back, but when I got to the car with my food, the menudo container they used was so cheap, it melted through. I went back in, nicely told the guy in the front, and didn't ask for my money back. I was walking out, he rudely yelled at me, if I wanted my money back, of course I said yes. They lost my business in the future. This place is selfish, for not following the covid-19 precautions. You may not believe it, but others do. You might be A sympathetic and not experience any symptoms. TO THE OWNER: If you staff have covid-19, and you don't make them wear a mask, do you know how many people you could of potentially infected by not following proper protocol?
