Great little spot for a quick bite on the run. The asada tacos are supreme. Not a single piece of gristle to be found anywhere on our plates. Red sauce very decent. Waitress was pleasant & attentive. Small typical beer selection. Maybe a few wines to choose from. The bathroom was clean. read more

Their tacos are really good! This time we order sopes and they were tasty! Unfortunately, the enchiladas michoacanas (a signature dish) were not too appetizing, with beef cooked to the consistency of leather... We will stick to tacos from now on. This place looked good online so I decided to give it a shot. I called and was greeted by "Burrito Express" instead of Route 101. I placed a to-go order. The staff were friendly and helpful. One of the meals I ordered was their carne asada enchiladas. When I got home I opened the enchilada to-go container to find tacos...until I looked more carefully. It was corn tortillas, which were pretty good, dipped in enchilada sauce with the enchilada filling (carne asada instead of shredded beef) inside the tacos. They were ok, but not as good as a regular enchilada, which would have been topped with more sauce and cheese. The refried beans had zero flavor. read more

Went on a Friday night. Got a carnitas taco and Fajitas. The carnitas was awesome. Nice crispness and seasoning. The mixed fajitas were delicious with lots of shrimp and way more meat than the veggies just like it should be. Service was awesome. Will be back read more

Ambiance OK but quite plain. They do have table service which was good. The food was quite tasty but spicy as can be. I had the molcajeto and made the mistake of bitting into a jalapeño. My husband had the chicken burrito with red sauce and the sauce was dark red, almost like mole sauce, and spicy as he^*. Good tasting food but be prepared for heat. read more

Great spot in Atascadero. They are fairly new and took over the old Burrito Express location. Though they have the same menu I was told they are not affiliated. Ordering through their web site or app "from the restaurant" is super easy. I had a chile relleno burrito and it was delicious! Came back two weeks later for another. This time I also ordered a carnitas burrito for my Gramma. She loved it. Not too many places in the north county to rave about when it comes to Mexican food but this place has not disappointed. Another important thing is the prices. Very reasonable!! I have paid much more for much worse. Staff is friendly. Inside the restaurant is a big space for dining and attached they have a banquet room that can be rented for parties! Congratulations to the new owners I wish you much success! Totally totally totally recommend this place first of all. It looks kind of small on the outside but you walk in and there's quite a bit of room all the way back very clean very inviting. All the employees are so very welcoming and provide excellent service! The food, I can't say enough, just from the chips alone. Those were so good and tasted so fresh and the tortillas that they used amazing! We had the chorizo and egg tacos, which were super super good! And the salsa that they provided was so tasty and was fresh. I will definitely make the spot a place to go back to, we came in from out of town and from now on whenever we come in we will make sure to visit here. Thank you guys for making the visit so special. I ordered here for the first time. I rate Mexican food by its beans, which were excellent. Their carnitas tacos and chicken enchiladas were outstanding. Taco Tuesdays! I alway get the Carne Asada tacos with the Red Sauce, which I absolutely love at this place! Very tasty, tender, and juicy. Their Red Sauce is also amazing. Today I decided to order one Carnitas and one Al Pastor with my Carne Asada tacos. Impressive, both were the same quality as the Carne Asada tacos. Tasty, tender, and juicy. I cannot stand when there are a bunch of tasteless, fatty meat pieces in my tacos. I have never had that experience here. I would get tacos any day of the week here. But Taco Tuesdays is an additional plus! read more

We stopped here after a visit to Hearst Castle, everyone starving. We were immediately seated, although it is a walk up/ quick service style restaurant, the server took our order from the table. They brought us some fresh chips and salsa, and our children devoured those crispy triangles as if they hadn't eaten in days. All that walking built up their appetites! Here's what we would recommend-- the pastor and birria tacos were delicious, so we're the corn/asada flautas and flour/chicken flautas. The burritos are customized with whatever you'd like were also delicious. Although we all loved the food, I'm taking the time to right this review because the service was exceptional- friendly, quick, attentive, and really refreshing.
