When I first sought out Gard Wellness Center, I have to admit I wasn't confident that anyone could help with my shoulder/back pain. I have been going to Gard Wellness Center for a while now getting chiropractic adjustments. I've even had a couple massages. While these seemed to help and progress was incremental, I still had limited mobility in my shoulder due to the pain. Recently, I underwent deep tissue laser therapy on my back and shoulder. And after but a few weeks, I am in far less pain and my shoulder is significantly more mobile! I was a very big skeptic about the deep tissue therapy, especially given the fact that insurance didn't cover it and that it cost a few hundred dollars. I questioned whether or not it was simply a glorified heating device akin to a heating pad or a hot bath. I will humbly admit... I was wrong and thankful that this therapy has helped me tremendously. If I underwent surgery instead, insurance probably would have covered it because I have amazing insurance. However, surgery is risky and not guaranteed for results. I am so glad I had this therapy. I love Gard Wellness! I have to say, I've avoided chiropractic care for a while because I thought of it as kind of a snake oil. After Gard visited my employer's health fair offering free chair massages, I took them up on a free consultation because it promised the offer of another free massage. I was surprised when Dr. Aliya told me that they had helped people with GERD/Acid Reflux in the past, as that was something I had struggled with for years (been to several doctors, with no help, ultimately just prescribed prilosec...) I signed up for the treatment plan they offered me, and to my AMAZEMENT my GERD was completely gone after about a month of regular visits. I had no idea that was even possible, but I haven't struggled with it a single day since then. Of course, I continue to come for regular adjustments. Dr. Christian is awesome and always does a great job. All of the staff at Gard are so friendly and helpful, from insurance questions to credit card payments and more. Any time I have called, I have gotten a call back very quickly. Any time I have emailed, I have received a response within the hour. I came to Gard Wellness with a referral to Dr. Aliya. I ended up being seen by Dr. Christian. WOW WOW. I have had several chiropractors in the past 6 years and have only truly loved one and that was in DC. Dr. Christian is fantastic! I have herniated discs, Si joint issues and was in pain due to various things. Dr. Christian has been doing hip/pelvic blocking with me and honestly it has been wonderful. Tracey is also a great as she showed me how to do the exercises and checks on me each visit to see how things are going before Dr. Christian sees me. I honestly feel like I have found a new wellness home. I never feel rushed or unimportant with anyone in the office. Jennifer and Dr. Aliya also helped me deal with United Healthcare and my primary care to get my referrals set for after my initial 6 visits were up. My husband convinced me to go to Gard Wellness Center after having such great results himself-and I'm so glad I did! Not only is the staff genuinely friendly and caring, but I found out that Gard could help me with more than just consistent back pain. I began going to Gard Wellness to help injury prevention and recovery for distance running as well as with general activities such as coaching youth soccer. I began a plan with the team at Gard to address back, sciatic nerve and knee pain issues that tend to worsen with running. My first examination with Iris and Dr. Davies was comprehensive and thoughtful and my treatment plan has been adapted as needed as I have (or have not) responded or had additional issues arise. I'm skeptical of Chiropractors - my previous experience HURT! After a chair massage from Gard (courtesy of my office) I decided to try them out. I have had awesome results with Dr. Christian over the last 6 months. I came to Gard Wellness with neck pain that keep getting worse for 1 1/2 years. So much so I could not exercise and after working 3 - 12 hours shifts I was in pain for days. After just a few treatments , I knew what it was like to have no pain. I've had bad experiences with chiropractors, and they are nothing like the competition. They have helped me so much! I had terrible back pain after car accidents over the last several years, and I had TMJ. Both issues seem far behind me now, even after 2 weeks. I was having severe back pain and really bad posture. I had several issues due to misaligned back. The staff did an excellent job of explaining the reason for all my aches and pains. I was still somewhat skeptical but halfway into the schedule I started noticing significant improvement in my condition. Gard Wellness Center offers top of the line patient care. I was seeing a physical therapist for months for an issue I was having and my husband talked me into seeing Dr. Aliya. She resolved my issue in just a few short visits. One visit I mentioned that my feet always hurt. She ordered custom orthotic flip flops for me. They are wonderful and my feet have stopped hurting.
