When I'm in the Tri State Area, pizza is an absolute must. And had many people recommend me Garden Pizza. Located inside a shopping center on Bergen Blvd there is plenty of parking. It's not a large place inside but you definitely get the local Italian pizza spot vibe. It was early in the day but it's never too early for a couple of slices. I also grabbed one of their own sodas. Gotta go with Black Cherry all day. The slices are a good size for folding. The flop is almost non-existant. Sauce was tangy and you can hear the crisp on the bite. It was spot on. I even had to hold it in front of me after the first bite just to admire the perfect balance of thin and crispy and not flop. It held steady until I went in for another bite. The Dark Cherry soda was "the cherry on top" as it was another winner. Overall this was a great pizza that I would come back over and over again for. Garden Pizza you got my vote! Great Job!

We have never had an issue with Garden Pizza until recently. On June 17.2025 at 19:47 we ordered a medium pizza and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was burnt and dry. The mozzarella sticks had breading on them that was raw. It looks like they were dipped in eggs and bread crumbs and never fried. They were cold. We had to throw the entire order out. The food was such a disappointment and we would be hard pressed to order from there again even though we have been long time customers.

FREEEEEEEE you say???? Yes please! I think I love this place even more than I already do!

A couple weeks ago when I was I NJ for a work trip, my buddy and I went to hang out at Bar One Public House - it was a Monday night - to watch the Raptors play against the warriors over drinks & eats. EXCEPT when we got there and asked to order food, we were told that the kitchen was actually closed - later found out that the place was just bought out by the new owner who was serving us drinks and the kitchen wouldn't be open until Thurs night - but we were told by the nice and awesome new bar owner that we could order food from anywhere and have it delivered there. So we asked for pizza recommendations and Garden Pizza was one of the top two. We ordered just a plain pepperoni pizza cuz my buddy's a kinda picky eater. 20 min later, the pizza arrived and O. M. G. that pizza was AH. MAY. ZING. I've always been told that pizza from LA is nothing compared to pizza in the east. And God are they right! The pizza from here was super legit. By far, one of the very best pizzas I've ever had! Two nights later, we went back to Bar One with a couple more friends, and we did the same - ordered another pepperoni pizza! And when it arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised because we were also given a free Marguerite pizza (I think that's what it was but I'm not 100% sure cuz I was 3 drinks in by then LOL) - BUT they were both AH. MAY. ZING. Here I am now, yelping while sitting in bed back in California and I am craving their pizza! I cannot wait to go back to NJ cuz I'm definitely gonna indulge!!

Jimmy took my order over the phone and he was so nice! He introduced himself, where he came from and gave me a little history of the family-run business. Not that he offers this information to every caller that places an order, but I happened to be interested in learning more as I've heard so much about Garden Pizza! The food is delicious and the service is even better. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. It was raining and we didn't want to leave the house with the kids and all. That Philly cheesesteak sandwich and chicken noodle soup really hit the spot! Excellent.

There's an assortment of pies that you can grab a slice from, and the portion sizes are humongous. While it's not the most amazing pizza you'll have in the city, I've never really said that I was super disappointed after buying something from here. If you keep your expectations at the right temperature, you'll be fine with getting a big slice from here. It's popular among both locals and students alike, so there might be a wait during the busiest times. I've added some pics for context (note the size compared to the two bottles), but I've always been stuffed after eating one "slice".

Ate there a bunch late night as a undergrad from 2003 to 2007 and then as a grad student from 2012 to 2014. Was definitely there for my 10 year reunion in 2017 and the last time I taught a class at Teacher's College I bought a whole pie to celebrate the occassion. It came in two boxes. Mayor Mamdani also likes Koronet and once said he devoured two slices there. I think I did that once, but certainly couldn't do it today. In any case, Koronet is a reliable very good slice of pizza. At its worst it is not bad, and at its best it is delicious. Is it the best pizza in the world? No. But will it hit the spot all the time, particularly in the winter? Absolutely.

That being said, thought I give them another chance given all the slice places within a few blocks in this section of Morningside Heights. While a reasonably priced basic cheese slice, but not the cheapest, don't be fooled by their pizza's appearance. Although the crust was OK, the excess grease that slid off of my pizza was: 1) something no one should ingest and 2) required a bib to avoid staining clothes. Maybe Famiglia's "famous" recipe is for clientele are out-of-towners (and a few local bozos) who eat their slice with a knife and fork! My reco - If you're hungry for a classic New York slice and want the real local thing, go to "old school" Koronet immediately across the street!

I wouldn't make a trip just to eat here, but if I was in the neighborhood again, I would happily eat here.

Finding a traditional Italian restaurant with good food and ambiance is always a plus in any city…read more I had hoped that V&T Pizzeria might be just that, a great place for simple pasta dishes with an old-world feel. While the food was fine, the real issue with the restaurant was the environment. My partner and I were seated two tables away from an older woman who proceeded to take a very long call on her phone at the table, using her speakerphone setting. A short time later, another person at the back of the room started the same. Having two loud conversations throughout dinner due to someone on speakerphones did not make for a pleasant experience. The goal of any restaurant should be to create as comfortable an experience as possible for patrons so that they are encouraged to return. While the food experience would have warranted that, the lack of staff management over the disruptive issue of people on their speakerphones during dinner ruined the entire meal. My partner or I could have said something to the customers, but we feel it should be the job of staff or management to handle this, not the patron. And while some will say that this is the way of the world today, we can't accept that. There is a way to act in public, in polite society, which includes stepping outside to take a phone call so other patrons are not disturbed. Other than this significant issue, the waiter was friendly, the food service was quick, and the food was flavorful for the most part. The garlic bread was not of the quality we expected: The bread had been haphazardly coated with a garlic mix that contained very large chunks of garlic, and was not very enjoyable to eat. The bread itself ws simply a piece of French bread cut in half; again, not much effort put into the quality or presentation. One of us ordered Ravioli, and it was clear that the pasta had not been drained properly. There was significant water collection around the sauce. While we might try V&T again, we are inclined to hesitate the next time we are in the area because of this experience. We hope the management discusses this issue and decides to encourage patrons to step outside for their phone calls.

The music is no longer as loud as it once was; it's now at a volume that allows for great conversation while still maintaining a vibrant energy. What really makes Fumo shine is the service and the attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is nothing short of exceptional every single time. My daughter ordered a lemon drop and OMG--it was so good. I had a Pinot Grigio and was happy they still had happy hour going. The kids had iced tea, and the staff was kind enough to make a raspberry lemonade for them, which they loved. I also really appreciate when restaurants notice kids and automatically bring cups with covers--small detail, but it makes a difference. For food, I ordered the rotativo bolognese--WOW. So much meat and packed with flavor. My mom had the burger and especially loved the truffle fries. The kids got spicy calamari with sauce (I don't usually like seafood, but it honestly looked amazing). The other adults had chicken penne alla vodka and chicken parm with penne, both enjoyed. The kids also ordered sausage and pepperoni pizza, and we accidentally ended up with a margarita pizza too--no complaints there! Service was elite--attentive, friendly, and made the birthday feel special. The place itself is nice and cozy, perfect for date night or family outings. We ended with cheesecake for the birthday girl, which was the perfect touch. I know they have other locations, and we'll definitely be checking those out too.
