I am not particularly picky when it comes to eatting. Outside of seafood I have tried to broaden my horizons when it comes to eating. In this case I never really restrict myself to a vegetarian diet but at the same time I realize I need to at times so I can come across locations with such a fantastic menu as Garden Wok. Garden Wok has been on my list for a while and I finally had a chance to sit down and try their food and they did not disappoint. In fact they really impressed me. I've had occasion to try vegetarian versions of dishes at other places that have left me feeling "meh". This was NOT the case with Garden Wok. Every item I tried was delicious and had a great flavor! Their "chicken" drumettes were phenomenal and are a must have when I return. While the rest of their sampler platter didn't blow me away, do not think the spring rolls or wontons were less, they each had a wonderful complexity and taste. The Orange "Chicken" I tried was fantastic as well. I usually dislike having the sauce on the top but here the sauce was fantstic. Not overpowering at all and really complimented the perfectly fried "chicken" to provide a fantastic meal. The place is clean. I came here in the late afternoon after work. I have been wanting to visit Garden Wok for a long time and it was bookmarked for like over a couple of years now. I finally got the opportunity to come here and tried their food. I got lettuce wrap and shrimp chow mein. The dish and appetizer are both fantastic top quality cook. I absolutely love the flavor of chow mein. Not too sweet or salty, perfectly seasoned, enough flavor, not too plain or watery down. I can't believe I didn't come earlier until now. I am glad to say I will definitely return here to try more dishes. I would say Garden Wok is one of the best Chinese Vegan food places. The woman was ready to accomodate with a Deaf person like me, gave me the order slip to write on, and they did brought exactly what I ordered. Lots of parking available! The food here is so good! The orange chicken is so crispy! The sauce is runny and really coats every morsel! The broccoli beef resembles beef so well! It has a chew to it and the "meat" absorbed the sweet soy sauce like a sponge! The fried rice was the sleeping winner for me! Didn't look special but full of flavor not spicy at all! Its been a bit since we last came here. This time we got the Golden Tofu Squares, the Basil Eggplant, bok choi and mushrooms, and lastly, the kung pao chicken. Overall, everything was good, but there wasn't as much seasoning as I would have liked. But, being that this is a healthy restaurant, it probably was better for me :-). Also, my wife asked for no spice on the kung pao as it didn't have any spice. Our mistake The atmosphere is comfortable. The server was alone handling 3 tables and take out orders. Things took slightly longer than normal, but not too long. Next time I'll remember to include spice on the kung pao. Despite that, its worth the trip here. read more

Tried this place today and couldn't believe how good it was! Tried the platter as well as the sweet and sour chicken. Also the place is so cute on the inside. Would be a great place to go on a date. such a great vegetarian restaurant in the valley! service is always friendly, and doesn't take long considering it's a one woman show. i have to recommend the orange chicken! so crispy and delicious, and the fake meat seemed mushroom based. the spicy tofu fried rice wasn't spicy imo, but had great flavor to it and i will definitely be getting those two again. the beef and broccoli is pretty standard, the beef is a pretty good imitation and has a similar bite to real beef. we also got the appetizer sampler, and the highlight was the chicken drumsticks for sure! parking is easy in the lot, and it never seems too busy, so i definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic chinese veg food in the valley :) read more

The food here is really tasty and the flavors are authentic. I can't find any other place that does cabbage and tofu sheets as good as theirs. So many options in their menu, and it's so satisfying to know I can order anything from it being that it's all vegan! The lady who runs it is sweet and such a hard worker, it seems like she runs the whole place herself. That being said, the service is fast and attentive enough, but don't expect much more. The love is still at Garden Wok! Located just above the Metro Orange/ G Line Station for Reseda Blvd off Reseda Blvd /Oxnard St... they have a shared lot with small neighboring businesses as well as local street parking. They had a remodel last year and even made some upgrades to not only this one of a kind Open-To-All, Women-Owned, Asian Owned and family owned vegan Chinese restaurant, but to their menu as well. Featuring quite a bit of newer entrees, appetizers and small bites. I recently had a takeout night with a group and friends and we tried a lot, during which we decided we'll plan out a future group in-person outing with a few more friends. Definitely will call ahead to reserve a table. The Mu Shu Vegetables/ Veggie Mu Shu was something new we tried. And it was very rich and flavorful. I guess traditional Mu Shu isn't wrapped, but it did make for easier enjoying and nom nom noming. Orange Chicken is a blend of all those citrus fruit saucy flavors + veggies and spice! The veggie Beef with Tomatoes and Bell Pepper was different than I remembered, more tofu beefy than years prior and still very enjoyable. The Sesame Chicken, still my favorite to this day, was nearly perfect... I just wanted more of it lol. Their Bao Buns or rather Steamed Buddha Bun(s) come as a two piece per order of and are very soft, succulent and mixed blended veggie filled. Arguably the best veggie drumsticks in town (though Lotus Vegan and Something Vegan do some magic as well) and you should add an order for the group. They still offer great lunch specials as well as dinner specials, however you get an extra treat with in-person. I will say the takeout portions for some items was a little lower than I expected, but still plenty and still just as amazing though nothing beats and in-person visit, which I hope to pop in again soon. It's been a while for a nice sit down at my former walking distance neighborhood go-to! I did support them in 2020 with delivery and after with a pick-up order or two. The food is delicious and it is all vegan! I'm not vegan, but I like to try vegan restaurants and this is on the top of the list for me. This is a family owned restaurant, that is ran by only the wife now, so expect a bit of a wait. I promise your patience is worth the wait. She takes orders, answers phone calls, serves, and cooks the food. She only receives help on occasional basis. You can wait up to 40 mins or more, but worth it!!! The inside of the restaurant is usually not too busy, but many to-go orders. The restaurant is very clean, and so is the restroom. The owner is very nice and funny! She also remembers her customers and their usual orders. She asked my cousins if we were ordering the usual entrees. I came with my cousins and we ordered: teriyaki salmon, sesame chicken, spinach fried rice, chicken drumstick, and Thai iced tea. The teriyaki salmon had that distinct seafood taste glazed with some delicious teriyaki sauce. I'm not a fan of seafood, so this dish had that fishy taste to me. The sesame chicken was crispy with some orange like tasting glaze topped with sesame seeds, this was my favorite!! The chicken drumsticks had a real chicken like texture and taste with a sweet and sour sauce on the side. I didn't think I was going to like the spinach fried rice because spinach!!! Hahah, but it was my second favorite. You couldn't even tell the spinach was there! It had a very flavorful taste. The Thai tea was a different. I believe it is soy milk they use with the tea, it had that distinct soy taste. Dishes run between $11-$13 for large shareable portions. I found out about the location because of a vegan YouTube channel I follow mentioned how the restaurant have the best vegan food. I gave it a try and they were absolutely correct! I received great service by the owner. She mentioned that the location has been there for 20 years! I was shocked because I usually know every good vegan restaurant but I guess I never went to all of the locations in the valley. I'm so glad I tried this location out.
