Cozy mom-and-pop restaurant with delicious vegan and non-vegan Thai food. The menu has a wide variety of options and everything we ordered was yummy. They gave out little vegan ice cream cones and vegan fortune cookies at the end of our meal which was a nice touch. The place is fairly small but there are plenty of tables, the space feels very clean, and the decor is cute. The owners are extremely kind and hardworking folks. I particularly loved how the vegan meats were juicy and soft (most other vegan meats I have tried are overdone, dense and chewy). We loooooooved the vegan pork short rib appetizer, the vegan beef satay and the vegan teriyaki chicken. The vegan shrimp tempura tasted like shrimp per my previously meat eating husband. I'd probably give the food a 4, but it's the ambiance of a small and well loved family business that has me giving it a 5. YELLOW CURRY! I had the vegan yellow curry (with tofu) delivered nearby, and I am over the moon to say that it was the top 3 best yellow curries I've ever had. Vegan My Thai's Vegan Yellow Curry is stuffed with veggies (carrots, potatoes, broccoli, greens) and choice of protein or more veggies. I opted for organic tofu and chose a side of steamed rice. The curry was flavorful, creamy -- an absolute delight. Full of spice and decadence. I saved a bite for my partner and he agreed that it was one of the best curries we've ever had, and we can't wait to go back to try more of the restaurant's long list of vegan dishes. Also got the "Golden Sweet Potatoes" for an app. They were so crispy and delicious in the sweet dipping sauce it came with. Note for an appetizer, these are sweet as the name suggests, so steer clear if you prefer salty. All in all, the food was fairly priced and extremely delicious. Vegan My Thai, on Devonshire in Chatsworth, has been a long standing eatery in the Chatsworth area. I will confess, that I kept avoiding this place, thinking their menu was selective and since I am not Vegan. Then I discovered, albeit accidentelly, that this place does serve non-vegan food, in all its glory. So I finally was able to get there and what a revelation. Never judge a book by its cover. Walking in to this small, intimate, but yet well appointed space, you have to be impressed. In the restaurant, the tables and all around you, there is beautiful and unique decor (see my pictures). Stunning arrangements and pieces hailing from the beautiful country of Thailand. Now for the food. The Chiengmai (their spelling) Noodles with Chicken had really thin noodles (more than angel hair) but were full of flavor. Nice assortment of crisp vegetables, as part of the dish. The Pad Prik King with Beef was spicy, as per my request. The beef pieces had color, taste and tenderness. In entrees of this type, my taste buds, in communication with my eyes, always hone in towards the green beans. Yes they had color, were fresh, well cut, not overcooked with the perfect crunch. My lover and I tried the kimchi ramen (spicy!!!) the Pho Basil, and dessert pancakes! The Ramen was GODLY! So flavorful and really gave a maruchan feel without all the bad stuff or high sodium lol , we added plenty of lemon to bring out the flavor since we're citrus fans.. so do try that out! PLUS THE TEMPURA TOPPING WAS SO PERFECT The Pho Basil was so warm and delicious with a hint of sour, so much better than ANY vegan pho I've had. I finished the entire bowl, noodles and everything! The dessert pancakes were crunchy, warm, and nutty! Tasted like French toast! I love the sesame and mochi like texture. We looove our Thai tea, and usually go to sticky rice in Echo Park, so we had to try their Thai and it was so delicious! Not too sweet like most places do, and the perfect amount of cream. Service was 10/10! We felt welcome and comfortable. The interior is decorated with love... After a long day at school I was craving veg orange chicken and Vegan My Thai fulfilled my wishes! I got my food delivered so I can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant but I was happy with the portion size of my entree and was truly thrilled that my dish came with veggies and white rice. It doesn't sound like that big of a deal but I've been to a few spots lately where veggies and rice warranted an up charge, so these additions were so appreciated! The entree was definitely SWEET even for my taste (I love sugar... probably a little too much) but it is orange chicken, so I can't really knock them for that. The veg protein that they use in this dish is great, and I think the texture and taste would satisfy even the non-vegans who dine with them! The pieces of orange peel mixed into the sauce were a nice touch too, and is not something I've seen before in the orange chicken entrees I've had in the past. The only thing I'll note is that I would've enjoyed the broccoli and carrots more had they been cooked a tiny bit longer. I know this is a beloved plant-based valley spot so I'm excited to actually dine-in next time and see what else they have to offer-- the fact that they have both a vegan and non-vegan menu makes them a great spot to bring friends and family of all dietary needs. We've been coming here for years and years. It's our favorite restaurant. We're here a few times a month regularly and also pick this place for our birthdays and anniversary. When we go for lunch Jon usually has the v-chkn Pad Thai and I have the Sweet N Sour v-chkn. We brought Mom here and she just about hoovered the Ginger lunch. Some of my fave dinners there are the Jackfruit Curry, the Orange Peel v-Chkn, and the spicy Kung Pao. My fave appetizer is the v-Crab Rangoon. For non-v options the Salmon Paradise is just exquisite; the combination of spicy curry plus sweet pineapple does amazing things with the salmon. We like to eat inside but we're often by ourselves in there; this place is heavily favored for take-out. There's always a steady stream of the Hungry picking up bags and bags of food. My first visit and first impression was the place was pretty empty, had an odd smell and there is no public restroom which I always thought was a requirement if you have customers dining in. My order was to go. It took about 15-20 minutes to get the meal and while it was cooking, someone was coughing loudly in the kitchen. I almost walked out, but then that's not my character. The older woman who worked there seemed to be handling it all. She was very friendly, so no complaints there. The food was very average to me. The Thai Tea was watery. Love the Thai Tea at the Bamboo Cafe in Simi Valley. The food was rather bland, no real taste of garlic sauce. Lunch for one person was $25. Not to be repeated. Sorry. read more

This place is so cute, cozy, welcoming, and nicely decorated besides the large photos of food on the wall. The person let us know we could sit anywhere upon entering for dinner. It was empty besides one other party which was sad. I believe there was only one waitstaff person and one cook. We were given the non-vegan menu which we didn't know and placed our orders. Luckily when I asked for no protein and more veggies the waitress asked if I wanted the vegan menu. Um... Your restaurant is called VEGAN My Thai!! I assumed it was all vegan. So yes I want the vegan menu. Yikes, that could have gone horribly wrong for us. Why not give the vegan menu out as default and ask if someone would like the non-vegan menu?! Our food was delicious. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting Thai food whether they are vegan or not vegan at all - they offer all meats, fish, poultry, eggs, etc. I just wonder why they don't change the name to get more non-vegan people in since they were empty on a Friday night and offer the non vegan menu anyways even though VEGAN is on their title. My Thai have been our go-to for meals at home since the beginning of quarantine/stay at home order. We've tried so many dishes and they are all SOO delicious! Here are our favorites: Citrus soy pork spare ribs--my fave dish here!! Golden sweet potatoes--my 4 year old loves this. Thai vegetable soup--Broth has DEPTH of flavor. Thai mango avocado salad--so fresh and the dressing is tangy and full of flavor. Mongolian soy beef--if you like the vegan pork spare ribs you'll love this as well. Broccoli with tofu--will not disappoint. I love that they have soooo many vegan options and they don't skimp on the veggies AND flavor! I especially liked that they use goji berries in their soup and wood ear mushrooms in some of their dishes. This totally elevates them from other Thai eatery establishments. I've even ordered from the catering menu and they gave us great portions. Next time I want to try their vegan pork spare ribs fried rice which I heard is a bestseller. Sadly they don't deliver in our area anymore but this is one small business I'll continue to support and do pickup orders. For the record, they have a vegan menu and a non vegan menu but I have only tried items in the vegan menu as my brother is vegan. It's located in a quaint corner plaza on Devonshire and owensmouth in the city of chatsworth! We love the spicy fried rice with tofu... that's a must oh and they have this super spicy off the menu hot sauce that is too die for!! My kids enjoy the soups so we get the Tom kha as well. I was craving pad thai and came across this restaurant near me! Upon entrance, the restaurant is set up in such an adorable and unique way with details of Thai culture. The restaurant gives a homey and chill vibe, which is exactly what I was looking for. As shown in the photo, I got the pad thai noodles with vegan chicken and my friend got the peanut noodles with vegan chicken. Both were a 10/10! The service is amazing and we were both given the cute ice cream shown in the photo by our server, who was the sweetest lady ever.
