    BEWARE of Predatory Practices and Disrespectful, Mysogynistic and Xenophobic Management from the manager Muhammad Alam at Gardena Nissan.

    I'm writing this review to protect others from experiencing what my mother and I went through at Gardena Nissan, specifically with the general manager, Mohammed. My mother was misled into thinking she was able to get a newer car with a cheaper monthly car payment from an advertisement sent to her, when in fact, she was being pushed toward carrying two car notes--despite telling them she couldn't even afford a down payment. Mohammed used ambiguous language that made it sound like the advertisement was accurate, clearly taking advantage of my mother who isn't familiar with the process. When I asked questions to clarify, he became condescending and rude, saying things like, "I told you it wasn't a trade," in a patronizing tone. Then he crossed a serious line--making personal, inappropriate comments to and about me. He said I was "horrible," questioned if I "go to pawn shops," asked why I wasn't smiling, and even suggested my mother would get a better deal if I didn't go with her next time. His behavior was misogynistic, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. While the sales reps were polite and respectful, the general manager's sneaky tactics and disgusting comments made it clear: this dealership does not operate in good faith. Avoid Gardena Nissan--not just for your financial safety, but for your personal dignity.

    I normally don't write reviews, but my experience at Gardena Nissan has been deeply upsetting, confusing, and honestly unlike anything I've ever gone through at a dealership. On December 6th, 2025 I went to inquire about a trade in deal sent to my uncle via mail and spent over three to four hours at the dealership. During that time, I repeatedly told the manager, Muhammed, that I did not want to move forward with the lease. Despite this, I was continually pressured and reassured that they could "work something out," lower the price, pay part of my deposit, cover registration and the first month, and make it "affordable" --but only if I didn't tell the bank. I said no multiple times, but the pressure didn't stop. I was also there with uncle and my two young cousins, who are only six and seven years old. They were restless, irritable, and needed my attention as we were only going to inquire rates on a trade in they sent in the mail but denied once we got there. I was overwhelmed trying to watch them, read paperwork, and defend myself against the constant pressure. Instead of recognizing that I was clearly stressed and vulnerable, I feel the dealership took advantage of that situation. After nearly 3-4 hours of back-and-forth and waiting, I eventually signed because I was exhausted and felt worn down, not because I was confident or willing. Before I even left the dealership, the manager, Muhammad asked me to write a review. When I scanned the QR code another salesman started telling me something about the car. As my attention is now on this man, Muhammad literally takes my phone out of my hand, hit the speech-to-text button, dictated his own positive review, and submitted it under my name. I didn't even get a chance to write my own honest opinion. That night, I couldn't sleep. I felt sick about the contract, the pressure, and how everything happened. The very next day, I returned to the dealership hoping for help, but the way I was treated was shocking. The tone completely changed. Instead of empathy or professionalism, Muhammad told me they couldn't help me, couldn't cancel anything, I wasn't getting any money back, that everything was my fault because I signed, it's done and he can't help me. He refused to give me copies of my documents, refused to provide paperwork from the bank, and acted like I was a problem rather than a customer seeking clarity. On my next visit, it got even worse. He accused me and my sister of yelling when we were simply trying to talk. He was dismissive, talked over us, and treated us with disrespect -- behavior he did not display when my uncle was present. The difference in treatment felt misogynistic and demeaning. Even if the dealership disagreed with my position, the lack of empathy, professionalism, and respect I received was shocking. This all happened within 24 hours of signing the lease. I left the car with them the next day ( December 7th 2025) after being told by their own finance staff that the contract could be cancelled, leaving the keys+car fully in their possession and the dealership has been inconsistent and contradictory ever since. It is heartbreaking and honestly traumatizing to walk into a dealership expecting professionalism and honesty, only to feel pressured, misled, and disrespected -- especially after returning less than 24 hours later asking for help, with the car fully in their possession. I'm sharing this experience because I do not want anyone else--especially another woman--to go through what I went through. No one should feel pressured into a contract, denied their legal documents, or spoken to with disrespect the moment they ask for help. I hope management, Nissan corporate, and future customers take this seriously. No one deserves to experience this.

    Zero stars if possible, I got my Nissan Quest to Gardena nissan, I recently move to Hawthorne and it was the nearest nissan dealer to my new place, long story short, I had a Recall on my fuel gauge due to not reading accurately not a super big deal to me but my wife got stranded a couple of times, well, first thing on my visit a very aggressive service advisor (Chis) tried to over sell me $225 on diagnostic services which I refused to agree because I didn't have any other problems with my mini van (no check engine light or any other lights), then he threatened saying I was gonna have future problems with more components if I refused to have the scanner connected on to my car ($225 charge to do it), I asked him to just take care of the Recalled components and I said I didn't have any other concerns with my vehicle. I picked my vehicle the following morning and after my commute to work the check engine light went on I called back to the service department and a very kind lady asked me to take back my vehicle back to the service department to have it checked up back again and to have the problem corrected she sounded concerned about it, I drove it back to the dealership and again Chris was there ready to collect the $225 and he refused to check in my vehicle in unless I signed a document on which I had to agree to pay for the $225 dollar to get my car inspected, when I left my car there it didn't have any check engine light on all I wanted was to have my vehicle back with out an additional problem. I recently connected my neighbors car scanner to my car and guess what! the problem is coming from the fuel gauge circuit that they just repaired. Now my car doesn't pass smog check this is very frustrating, I'm very upset and defenely I don't recommend this shop to anyone just look for another nissan dealer, this is fraud so you know. And no the fuel gauge isn't fixed I still have the same problem as when I left it there the first time to be repaired under a recall. Most likely nissan already paid them for the repair that they didn't perform correctly. I wish that they will take responsibility. I'll write an update if they reach up to me with a solution. All I want is to have my fuel gauge repaired as per the Nissan recall and to have the code to be cleared for good.

    I normally go to a different Nissan where I purchased my car but I needed something done quickly. I purchased the clips needed to attach the engine undercover cover. Gilbert, in Parts, was super friendly and helpful. Carlos, the Service Advisor, was great. I wasn't charged for the work, which I really appreciated. I knew it was a quick job, so I'm grateful.

I am going to have to reach out to Toyota directly and submit my proof and get this fixed. I can hear another customer complaining and they are trying so hard to upsale her on servcie when she is upset already. I ended up waiting over 6 hours even with appointment. Around 12pm they say I have wait another 2 hours more due to a glitch they just found out after hours of having my car. Hmmm... i ended up picking up my car around after 3pm total of over 6 hours of waiting to get a oil change is a bit much and then the front desk lady giving me an additude did not help with this review at all. Ridiculous. One star for the service guy being nice. Otherwise .negative star would be more like it. But, I can't justify the service here for my overall experience and don't want give a bad review. But have to be honest about reviews. I am very surprised because normally I had good experience here overall before. MAYBE A BAD visit. This is 2nd time babd experience in my last 2 visits. Hopefully this is not how it is here now. Went downhill in service and treatment towards customers.

Drove the vehicle home the same day. On Thanksgiving evening (on our way out) the transmission went out while on the freeway. Car was loaded with the entire family, had to get the car towed to the mechanic while Ubering to our destination. We spent a couple thousand dollars in fixing the transmission, and a few hundred bucks on the tow truck along with the uber on Thanksgiving night. We haven't driven the truck for even 1000 miles and already replaced the transmission, which gives this place a 1 star rating. We did not call when the transmission went out, didn't think we'd get any consideration since we were considered owners of the vehicle already. However, we called 1-week after they responded to our google review and until today, we have not received follow up. If a follow up is received, I will post an update. The entire family was friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process. My conclusion on this experience: I purchased a used vehicle at Hawthorne Motors Express and the transmission went out 3 months after owning it. *we are proud owners of 2 previously owned vehicles, which were purchased from Enterprise Car Sales. I know where I'll be going for my next car.

They take no accountability for what happened and offered no explanation. It's clear they don't respect customers, their property, or professional boundaries. My son purchased a Nissan with no problems. We applied for financing and everything was perfect. Three days went by and the check engine light came on. So, my son went immediately to the establishment and they plugged it in the machine to diagnose and suddenly nobody knew how to speak English. The people there were only able to tell them that they would order the part and each time he followed up they didn't have it. Text messages to and fro we're sent to management only to get texts saying they didn't have the part. We had to send our grandparents over there and threaten lemon law for litigation and to our surprise they pretended lemon law does not apply to used cars. They were put in their place, and today we await for a call telling us when to bring the car for it's repair. I want to point out that they said it's a coil for the transmission that needs to be replaced. I'm putting this here on Yelp to prevent others from getting manipulated into buying a bad car. Be aware of this place if you do not know how to fix cars, and if your not bilingual. My heart breaks knowing that there are local dealerships ready to burn people.
