After going to several dealerships, he was the only one they didn't make me feel pressured, wasn't pushy, was honest and down to earth. I really don't know what's the point of making an appointment. I brought my Toyota for a simple rear brake repair that at 8am thinking that it might be at least a two hour wait, but I was mistaken. This repair took 9 1/2 hours to complete. On top of all that I had to get my own uber ride since their shuttle service stops at a certain time. This was very disappointing. I scheduled an appointment over the weekend for today at 4:15 today being Tuesday, May 19. I arrive for my appointment. The service expediter was kind took down my mileage and my vehicle's license plate number and said that a service agent would be with me in a moment.. About 10 minutes to 15 minutes go by I figured everybody was a simply busy so I'm waiting nobody's really around. Then a Saul lanky service agent comes out and starts off the question with " Hello. I certainly hope you're not planning on getting your car back this evening?" I told him I was seeing how I made an appointment. He told me their systems were down and there was no way that they could help me out today. I understood but mentioned well I would've appreciated an email or a phone call so I wouldn't have to leave work early, waste my time and drive down here. I accompanied my friend to purchase a brand new car from Toyota. He had purchased a Sienna and the car buying process was pretty straightforward. The staff was pretty friendly and took the time to walk us through the vehicle features and do a test drive before handling the paperwork. The numbers were pretty straightforward. There wasn't much wiggle room for the pricing so what we saw was what we got. They did ask us questions like whether we had Costco to see if there were a potential deal that could be applied to the extended warranty purchase. Didn't feel pressure to get add-ons but my friend added accessories for convenience. The process overall took 2 to 3 hours, but we had a cat shield install. We also had a lot of questions which the staff was helpful in answering. Appreciated that they washed the car prior to pickup so that didn't take up extra time. There is a waiting area and vending machine machines with snacks/food. There was a cool coffee/hot water machine with tea bags as well. The location felt very big, clean and it wasn't difficult to park. read more

This review is for Parts and Service, with specific highlight of employees Taron James (parts) and Chris(tian) Ramirez (service). This dealership is NOT the closest to where I live or work, but several years ago, my local Culver City Toyota did me dirty (replaced and rotated my tires and neglected to torque one of them back in!) which had me swearing off dealerships forever, as far as I was concerned. Except, I began receiving notifications from Toyota about recalls on my car that needed to be addressed, and could not be done by my local mechanic. As a side note, I've had difficulty finding what I needed for my windshield wipers to be replaced, and one day while in the South Bay, I stopped at Toyota's parts department, where Taron greeted me, heard me out, and walked out from behind the counter, to my car to confirm he was getting me the correct part. He told me he was going to scold me like his little sister, for not replacing my wipers sooner, but when I left that day, I felt like both my car and my safety in my car were in good hands. It was my encounter with Taron that led me to entrust MB Toyota with my recall work. During this visit I asked about what my car needed and was told that I could expect 3-4hours. Once I was able to arrange for someone to follow me back down to the South Bay, so that I would not have to be stationary for the whole visit, I called and scheduled an appointment with Christian through the department receptionist. Chris called me to confirm the appointment, and explained that one of the issues required an inspection, and might not need parts, but if it did, the only way would be to return to have the part installed. There was just no way to know until I got there. When I arrived for my appointment, Chris was with another client, so Carl jumped in to get my car checked in. He did a video walk around of my car and brought the keys back to Chris, who had finished with the previous customer and started typing up my paperwork. Dropping my car off was fast and easy. Chris verified my cell number and said that he would text me if the part was going to be needed, and that I could expect it to take 3 or 4 hours. I checked the car in around 11:30a and my ride & I went to enjoy some South Bay haunts with brunch at Eat At Joe's and a trip to Stars Antique Market. We had another couple of stops planned, thinking that the dealership would not be ready as quickly as Chris stated, but.... 2:20p I got a text from Chris that my car was done, with no need for additional parts to be ordered. Picking up my car was as easy as dropping it off AND Chris had some pictures of undercarriage issues for me to be aware of. My car was returned to me without my automatic lights or seat positioning having been touched (seemingly - if they were, they were returned to my settings.) My car is nearly 10 years old and no longer needs to be serviced by the dealership, but if and when I do need a dealership, MB Toyota will gain my patronage again. read more

While waiting for my car to get serviced, I stopped by the Toyota dealership's sales department to inquire about getting a new Prius and possibly upgrading my current car. I expected the same helpful service I received when I bought my current vehicle from them. Instead, I was disappointed. The first sales associate I approached said he was busy and passed me off to another salesperson. The second person, a Japanese gentleman, also said he was busy and didn't even attempt to assist me. It felt like no one was willing to help, even though I was seriously looking into getting two cars. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being stereotyped because I was wearing simple clothes and had my backpack with me. I felt embarrassed and eventually decided to walk away. No customer deserves that kind of treatment. You should never judge people based on how they look -- you never know who is a serious buyer. This experience really changed how I see this dealership, and it's something I hope they address so other customers don't feel the same way. Bought a brand new 2024 Corolla SE last year with every warranty that they pressured me into and some anti theft alarm that they said was required/mandatory that I paid 600$ for (aftermarket alarm btw) and now my car has issues! The door alarm keeps triggering while I'm driving and it causes the car to fully break by itself while I'm driving on the street! I brought the car in for maintenance and they told me it can take up to a week to fix and my service advisor AIDEN says they don't do loaner vehicles but we are welcome to PURCHASE a rental vehicle from them. Absolutely terrible customer service. All nice and friendly when buying their warranties and vehicles but complete opposite once you actually require service. Car is UNSAFE. Almost caused an accident on the street. Update: Business manager replied and was quick to point fingers yet refused to acknowledge the TOYOTA CUSTOMER SAFETY ISSUE. I leased a 2025 RAV4 from Toyota Manhattan Beach on December 24, 2025, on Christmas Eve. I arrived close to closing time and was the last customer of the day. I was genuinely excited to lease a new vehicle for my wife. The salesperson offered a test drive, but since it was already late on Christmas Eve and the dealership was closing, I declined. I was already familiar with the vehicle--my brother owns a RAV4, a close friend has one, and I previously leased a Camry LE--so I felt comfortable moving forward. The salesperson showed me a couple of options. I specifically did not want the base model and chose an upper trim level, assuming it would include additional features. After driving just one or two miles home and parking the car, the very first thing my wife noticed was that the trunk is completely manual. There isn't even a trunk release button inside the vehicle--something my older base-model Camry LE had many years ago. This immediately became a serious issue because my wife is currently undergoing physical therapy for a wrist condition and may even need surgery. Manually opening and closing the trunk repeatedly is painful and impractical for her. The next morning, I called the dealership and explained the situation, requesting to return the vehicle. I was told that it would now be considered a "used car" and that I would lose money. This was shocking, considering the vehicle was purchased the night before and had only been driven home--less than the distance of a typical test drive. Despite clearly explaining my wife's medical condition and how critical this feature was for us, the dealership showed no flexibility and made no effort to help. We were essentially told the deal was done. This left us feeling completely stuck with a brand-new vehicle that does not meet our needs. What makes this even more frustrating is that cars have had hands-free or button-operated trunks for years--some even open with a leg gesture. I simply cannot understand how, in 2025, a vehicle lacks even a basic trunk release button, especially when it is a trim level above the base model. When I raised this concern with the salesperson, I was told that what I leased was the "base model of the higher trim," which honestly felt like a bad joke. The vehicle is still sitting in front of our house and has not been touched since. I chose Toyota because I trusted the brand--I've leased Toyota before, my brother owns one, and I had a high opinion of Toyota's quality and customer care. I don't usually do reviews, but I want to warn people about this place. I made an online appointment at 4:30pm after experiencing transmission slips during work. I brought the car in, was not seen for several minutes despite having an appointment, and told a technician could not diagnose it until the next day (service is open until 7:00pm). I didn't expect it to get fixed that day but at least was hoping for a diagnosis. I was told I'd get a call by 1:00pm. Didn't get one until 2:00pm, was told car still had not been diagnosed. Heard nothing until I received a work order for $7200 and change for a new transmission. I didn't get a call for another hour, where I was told I needed a brand new transmission. When asked what was wrong with it, the service manager told the transmission was slipping. When I said I already knew that and wanted to know why in case I could get it rebuilt or something, he said they didn't know why because they don't do transmissions there aside from putting a new one in. I asked if he could replace the fluid and filter to buy some time, he said that would make it worse (after second opinion and research, that much is probably true). I was charged $200 for 2 days at the dealership, zero results and zero explanation of the problem. The write up just said I need a new transmission because it was slipping. I later took it to a specialist who gave it normal service and actually took the time to explain that transmissions are fickle after 100k miles and that the service may or may not help it and prolong the lifespan , but he would have to do a rebuild or replace to truly fix it. No charge. I ultimately paid $250 for the service at the specialist as a dice roll to prolong my car while I figured out getting a new one. I don't appreciate having my car held hostage when I was told the problem would be diagnosed and then paying $200 to be told they don't know the problem and don't do transmission repair. If you knew you don't do transmission repair, then don't tell me you can diagnose it. read more

I expected a comment from the service manager indicating they were not at fault and placing the blame back on the customer. Very on brand for this service manager, going back to my original recommendation of customer service training. I would question why their response is to blame me for not coming back a 4th time to address the same issue I came in for 3 times. They should have addressed it the first 3 times, right?
