Small ramen
Kelly H.

Awesome little local ramen spot! They keep the menu super simple--just regular ramen and brothless ramen--but you can customize pretty much everything. You get to choose your size, garlic level, fat, veggies, meat, and any extra toppings you want. I rolled in for a late lunch around 1 PM on a Sunday and managed to snag the very last open table! We tried a small ramen and a medium brothless ramen. The noodles were perfectly thick and chewy. The regular ramen broth was super flavorful, and the bowl was completely loaded with garlic and content. The brothless ramen was awesome too--definitely on the heavier side, but still delicious. Their portions are incredibly generous, even for the smaller sizes, so come hungry! Highly recommend checking it out.

This place really lives up to its name. Oh my garlic! You will really keep the vampires away with this one. The more garlic the BETTER. I really love how rich, umami and a garlic bomb of flavor everything is. It truly is a " Garlic High". You'll need a mint or 5 after the meal but it's truly worth it for this deliciousness. I got the Jiro-style Ramen. I ordered medium portions. I couldn't finish my food just because of how filling it was. I love a good leftover and nothing goes to waste. The small is basically a regular size at any other Ramen shop. I probably should have gotten that size but oh well. The more the merrier. Service My family came on Wednesday 10mins after they had just opened. So, 5:40pm. We had no wait and were able to sit down right away and ordered right away. We waited about 20mins for all our food to come out. I heard that on the weekends it can be a bit of a wait/ line. Ambiance The inside truly reminds you of the Ramen shops in Japan with the little solo section if you want to eat by yourself. It's simplistic, clean and reminisce of Japan ramen shop.I thought the merch hanging on the wall was pretty neat. Jiro-style Ramen Let's break it down by layers Layer 1: a mountain bed of bean sprouts & cabbage Layer 2: Followed by umami Fat Layer 3: A lump of minced garlic Layer 4: two huge slabs of flavorful Pork belly Overall, If you love garlic you'll definitely love this place. I'll be back to try the other style next time.

I noticed a new ramen place called Garlic High. As I drove closer, I realized that they used to be Seto Fish & Chips (which i am sad to see them gone). The small parking lot can get crowded during peak lunch hours. Remodeled interior with counter or table seating. A couple of large groups of 6+ can be accommodated. One unisex restroom. The service is super welcoming, helpful, and attentive. She had such a bubbly personality. The menu is simple. Either choice of Ramen or Mazesoba. I went with their Signature Ramen (4/5). Jiro-style ramen with ultra rich tonkotsu broth, thick chewy noodles, customizable toppings like minced garlic, back fat, beansprouts, and cabbage. I really liked the thick noodles which were perfectly cooked. The pork chashu were thick and meaty yet tender. If they pan-seared them or flamed brulee'd the meat like Misoya used to do. That would elevate this dish! Breath mints are definitely needed afterwards! This is my first experience into this..."food cult" requiring endurance to finish, with a devoted following known as "Jirorians " I have been initiated into the "Jirorians" and I love it! I'm excited to try their Mazesoba next time I visit. Support your local business.

They have 2 tires of noodles. I always like thick noodle so I chose Mazesoba. I thought it was a gimmick before I came so I had some reservation. Turned out the noodle they use regardless for ramen or Mazesoba still use thick noodle and it was good. The portion small was good for me. Fish powder was a must. Very flavorful. The Cha siu was thick, big portion but the quality is good. I didn't order extra garlic and it was enough.

WOWSERS! Talk about GAAARLICKY! Whooboy! If you love fresh raw garlic in your ramen, this is the place for you! They only serve three items here - their Signature Ramen, Mazesoba (brothless ramen) and the Savage Chashu Bowl! Easily customizable, you can add a variety of toppings, the amount of garlic, the amount of noodles (or no noodles), umami fat, etc. Thus the broth can be thicker or thinner based on what you add. The base, however, is by itself on the lighter side. On the table, however, is a rack of condiments that include a bottle of concentrated broth. If you like a more robust broth, add a little bit of soup condiment for extra flavor. I get why the default is lighter than normal, for those who like it less salty. Otherwise, it would be difficult to tone down the level of saltiness without adversely affecting the overall taste. I have to say that this ramen shop has the largest hunk of chashu of any ramen shop I have visited! The slice is easily 3/4 of an inch thick! (And very tender and deliciously fat, too!) For first time customers, they recommend going small bowl size and light of garlic. And that makes sense. For repeat customers, they have an offering of free condiments - from Ramen broth, vinegar, chili powder, etc. to change the flavor. Once I figure out my preferences, I can get the perfect bowl of ramen! Highly recommended.

Small (150g noodles) with 1 piece of chashu and quail eggs (extra)
Elaine Y.

Finally got to try this place and thought we would go when they opened and we got there about 15 mins before they opened and they already had a line. It's a small place so when we left - the line was even longer so be prepared to wait. We ordered off individual piece of paper that allows you to select EXACTLY what you want and your name so you know it's your order. The server reviews with you and places the order. They were very fast and delicious. I got one small Jiro-style Ramen w/150 g noodles that comes with 1 slice of chashu pork. Got it with regular everything (Veg, Garlic and Unami fat), and I added quail eggs. Hubby got the medium Jiro-style Ramen w/200 g noodles and it comes with 2 slices of chashu pork. He also ordered with regular everything. We needed a base line to know how to order next time... First off - the broth was SO GOOD - loved the flavor of the tonkotsu broth but I will say - I will go lighter on the garlic next time as they give you ALOT for regular. They give you both chopped and grated so you get both textures! But what i was impressed with was all the veggies they added on top, which consisted of bean sprouts and chopped cabbage. Gave the dish a crunch and helped the richness. AND the chashu was perfect. Meaty and very tender and so easy to eat. Because of the thickness of the cut - it didn't fall apart - you could actually get good bites of the perfectly seasoned and tender chashu. Next time I may order an extra chashu. And I have to give a shout out to the "ramen" noodles. They are not your typical "ramen" texture and size. They're on the thicker side so much chewier and they absorb the broth perfectly. That was one of the biggest surprises for me. LOVED the noodles. But because the noodles are thicker - it's so much more filling. AND I learned that's what "Jiro-style" means! LOL - thicker noodles chewier noodles drenched in a heavy rich pork bone broth. Topped with veggies and has tons of garlic. They TOTALLY delivered on the "Jiro-style". And the quail eggs was a perfect accompaniment to my dish - they gave quite a bit which was nice. Small was PERFECT size for me as I couldn't finish it all up and ended up taking it home (along with some of hubby's extra noodles and meat cause the medium was WAY too much for him) and I got another meal out of it. Heated up next day is just as good as when I heated it up the garlic cooked more into the broth so it had a slightly different flavor - still good but definitely more garlicky... Can't wait to come back!!

Checked this place out right before they opened and there was already a line of about 6 groups ahead of us. The place is small, with a bar and a handful of tables. You order via QR code and pay electronically..food came out within 10 minutes. They offer mainly mazesoba and ramen, which my boyfriend and I tried without any add-ins or changes to the items. Both items were lacking in flavor, the noodles were not cooked enough, and the garlic was overwhelming. Chashu was cooked perfectly, but very salty! Huge portions that can justify the prices if you like the flavor. Service is good, but we wouldn't return.

Wait can get long, we waited around 20 minutes on the weekend. Would recommend to hop on the Yelp waitlist. Service after ordering was a little slow as well. I got the small ramen with regular everything. I also added quail eggs, and it came with 6 of them. The chashu slices are very thick, though a little tough. I like the thick ramen noodles that had a hand-cut feel. I felt like the ratios of the ramen were off - not enough broth, not enough noodles, too much bean sprouts. I tried my friend's mazemen (dry ramen) and I preferred it a little more for the fried onions and creaminess from the egg yolk.

Pretty long wait on a Saturday lunch. Joined Yelp waitlist around 12pm and waited around 30-40 minutes to get seated. Food took a while to come out too. We shared the ramen and mazesoba. I personally liked the mazesoba better. The noodles here are really thick and chewy. I feel like they were more quantity over quality though. It was pretty heavy overall and I thought they just piled on way too many bean sprouts to where most of the bites were just bean sprouts. I also feel like there wasn't enough broth + noodles. I also added quail eggs for +$3 and I got 4 quail eggs, while my friend got 6 quail eggs. In hindsight, the small size would've sufficed. The meat pieces are HUGE. Service was good. Seating is indoor only in a cozy atmosphere.

I love garlic so this place caught my attention. I got max garlic option with the ramen. Even for me it was a bit too much. Will go with heavy next time. Thick noodles were good. Reminds me of Korean kalguksu except thicker. Wished there was a little more soup. Was pretty busy on a Wednesday night and they only had one server so was a bit slow but understandable cause she was alone. Overall would be back again.

If you like garlic and hand made thick noodles, this place is for you. This place is popular, we came at 11:30 sharp on Sunday and there were already 5 parties ahead of us. When we finished and walked out at 12:15, the line was down to the end of the building. Garlic High is easy to spot as it has its own building with a big sign indicates it's a Japanese cuisine. It serves basically 2 kinds of noodle, ramen with broth and mazesoba, which is a dry mix but a small amount of sauce at the bottom. Even the ramen doesn't have a big bowl of broth like other ramen places. If you want extra broth, the menu charges $6 for it as a side. They only serve the small size when we visited, which is more than enough to fill us up. The small size contains one thick slice of cha siu for 150g, the medium is 200g and large 300g per the menu. I got the mazesoba which came with a beautiful orange yolk egg on top, loads of bean sprouts and fried onions. These ingredients were so loaded that I thought they forgot to add noodles. I had to dig in really hard to find the noodles at the bottom of the bowl. The noodles definitely tasted as freshly handmade, they were chewy and thick, not the kind I like, and I felt that it was a bit too big a texture for this style of dish. It's maybe double the thickness of the noodles used in the Chinese dish Shanghai Stir Fry. Once mixed in, the egg disappeared and I couldn't taste it. Unlike in hot pot you put a raw egg in the dipping sauce, every piece of hot food dipped in will pick up some bits of the egg and adding silky coating to the food, mixing an egg in this huge amount of bean sprouts just made it disappeared. I do like the fried onions that add aroma and texture. To me, the whole bowl was light in flavor even I chose everything regular, so I had to pour in their ramen sauce and fish powder to add flavors, which I find it interesting to have these condiments. When I placed my order online, I was asked about the level of umami fat and I chose regular (anything on top of that is extra cost), but I couldn't tell what that was from my bowl. The ramen came with the broth maybe half way over the bowl only, again, a big satisfying piece of cha siu and loads of bean sprouts. My friend got tired of chewing the noodles and complained that it's not the kind of noodles she enjoyed. Ramen and Mazesoba both came with freshly chopped garlic on the side that you can mix it in.

Garlic High has some interesting ideas, but overall it was a bit disappointing. The ramen noodles were cooked fine, but the broth felt heavy and overly salty, and the garlic flavor was way too strong in every bowl--more overpowering than flavorful. Toppings were basic, and while the portions were decent, nothing really stood out. Service was okay, but the combination of intense garlic and lackluster balance in the dishes made it hard to enjoy. I'd give it 2 stars--probably won't be rushing back.

Many of my Japanese friends were hyped about this new Jiro-style spot, so I finally checked it out. (Jiro-style is known for its massive portions and very bold, fatty, and garlicky flavors.) The ramen was so good! The portion size is huge and the flavor is heavy and rich, but it's somehow hard to stop eating. It's definitely addictive. The restaurant is clean, and the staff were also helpful and friendly. Highly recommended if you want a very filling and flavorful meal!

Saw this on yelp, figured why not? It's near the house for us. Seems to be well reviewed and a new establishment. Came in, not very many people... In fact, one other family. So got seated pretty quickly and dug into the menu. It's not expecting to be greeted with some unorthodox Ramen options in comparison to many of the other places that we've been to. Of course they have your standard offerings, but then they have a lot of other different takes on Ramen that seemed pretty good. Of course, my wife had to go and try the most eye catching one: the Saturn, with it's crag of fried softshell crab on top! I wasn't really feeling soup and elected to try the Gemini (exes be damned!). I didn't try my wife's just because I can't handle spice unfortunately, for the gym and I was really good! Really hit the spot, and not too much. A lot of places to go to the 10 to overdo it on servings and always end up leaving a lot behind. This was just enough for me for one night. Noodles were very chewy and I love the texture! I don't think I've tried that before. Also, the noodles were hot instead of cold like so often in tends to be. Wagyu was cooked and seasoned nicely, a hood shade of pink, any crispy toppings, added both the flavor and the texture. All in all, I loved it and was very pleasantly surprised! Looking forward to coming back to try some other dishes! PS: Pisces, Capricorn, and a few others are out of this menu.
