My friend Sarah was craving beef noodle soup and I remembered that this place had good Chinese noodles so figured it wouldn't disappoint. This was probably my third visit. We were looking to catch up in person on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. All tables were full and there were a couple of other parties waiting inside when we walked in, but the wait for a table was not bad at all. It is on the noisier side since the clientele is primarily Asian, and service tends to be short since that's what would be considered authentic. I got the beef noodle soup with the wide noodles since it was a chilly day and I wanted something warm. In the past I've gotten the tomato and eggs sauce noodles, which was very tasty and not a bad option for a hot day as the noodles themselves come out cold. Make sure to bring some floss if you get the beef noodle soup, some of the meat gets stuck in my teeth every time. Service does tend to be short so don't expect anyone to wait around for you to order or extra pleasantries. But this isn't surprising given the type of restaurant so it didn't detract from the meal. The check comes to you when you're about done so there is no need to flag anyone down after finishing. I would definitely revisit if I have cash on hand and am in the area. Located in strip mall in Cupertino, a little off of busy DeAnza Blvd. They only accept cash or Venmo (minus 1/2 star), so be prepared. I ordered spicy beef noodle soup, and you can choose light, or extra spice. I got light spice, but in hindsight, I should have stuck with regular because there was simply no burn. The beef is tenderized perfectly - nice and soft, bok choy and noodles are excellent, well portioned, not over or underdone. Broth is savory and fresh. Overall, an excellent example of traditional beef noodle soup. I tasted some of the spicy fish soup as well - a little odd how the meat is fried and then put into a soup base, but somehow it works. The fish is soft and flavorful. Cold cucumber and veggie plate - I liked the cucumber better - more flavor and easier to chew. Crisp and cruncy. The pea shoots in the veggie plate was a little fibrous and difficult to chew/swallow. Service is as you would expect for this area - their focus is on turnover so don't expect any red carpets being rolled out. I love coming here for the hot spicy fish noodle soup! I've been here a few times and i've always ordered this. The crispy fish batter soaks up the soup and it's delicious! The soup itself is light and the noodle texture is to die for! We also ordered the liangpi and my boyfriend thought it was pretty average (6/10). The meat in the meat burger (肉夹馍) was extremely juicy and tender, but the bread was a bit dry (7.5/10). We also tried the sliced beef in hot oil sauce and we both loved this dish! The hot oil sauce was extremely fragrant and flavorful, but not too spicy (10/10). I like that you have width options for the noodles. I always go for the wide noodles. Came here around 7pm on a weeknight and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. The falloff of QQ noodle needs to be studied. This used to be my favorite spot for good value, yummy, and consistent noodles. With the opening of more Chinese noodle spots, this place feels like it's lagging behind - from its cash only requirement to lower bang for buck value to its lower quality of soup and noodle dishes. I ordered a beef noodle soup and my wife ordered a hot oil noodle. The beef noodle soup felt bland and underseasoned, and the noodles itself did not have any flavor given the lack of soup flavor. It felt like I was borderline slurping on noodles with salty water, to a point where I didn't even finish my bowl. The only redeeming quality is that this place serves more of a Taiwanese style, so the beef was tender and flavorful as opposed to the Lanzhou style counterpart. The hot oil noodle was...alright. It had a good kick to it, but something tasted off about it, only later to be found out in the bathroom. Service was fast and you order via QR code now. However, it's still cash only in 2026, which is definitely a little weird, especially since no one wants to carry change in their pocket. Ordered #3 Dry Soy Paste Meat Sauce Noodles. Barely any meat in the dish. Like little droppings of meat and under a quarter of an ounce. The dry soy paste meat sauce was only enough to cover half of the noodle portion. The other half of noodles is sitting in the fridge... Even dogs get fed more meat than this. They used to give more meat, but now they add small pieces of chopped peanuts to make up for it as a filler. Peanuts are not supposed to be in this dish. QQ Noodle serves delicious Chinese noodles. I like the Spicy Fish Noodle Soup I recently got over the hot oil noodles I got when I last came here in 2022. Even though I love sichuan noodles, I actually thought the hot oil noodles dish was unbalanced since the large amount of noodles overpowered the small amount of protein and veggies the dish came with. The spicy fish noodle soup had bok choy and spicy soup in it, so the dish was perfectly balanced and had a good spice level. It is done well so there is not a mouthful of dough like some other places. Fish is plentiful and so is the portion of sour mustard. Large Plate Chicken Noodles (No Bone). Not on their printed menu, this was an option when you scan the QR code. They use chicken thighs and its braised with potato. Flavorful and just the right level of spice thats too spicy but offers a little kick for flavor. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by for a quick meal. We both really liked the garlic sauce noodles with pork and cold noodle appetizer. The pork noodles were a little spicy but nothing too overwhelming for the tastebuds. The noodles in all of the dishes were fantastic, you could tell that they were handmade in house and they really had the perfect chew to them. We were surprised that the pork hock was a cold dish. I liked the flavorful sauce that came on top of it, but didn't love that it was cold. The cut of the beef in the braised beef soup also kinda threw me off since I didn't grow up eating super authentic Chinese food. We ordered the braised beef noodle soup and a San Hao soy bean paste noodle with round noodle. They both tasted good. The noodle soup's beef was soft and flavorful that it actually won my husband's approval. The broth is not the same as the brown Taiwanese kind, it was more a clear grey color broth with a hint of the Chinese saffron seasoning. The soy bean paste noodle had a lot of noodle and thredded cucumbers. The bean paste was too salty, so there's not a lot but good enough for the whole bowl once you mixed it up. The noodle is chewy and el dente, coming from freshly made quality with lots of gluten. The problem is that after mixing the bean paste there's not much meat in each bite, mostly noodles, so I had to finish the whole bowl to get some protein. Now I over eat and i still feel like I did not take in enough protein for a healthy meal. Service was friendly. A group of high school kids came in for their Chinese learning assignment and the server was encouraging and brought out the paper menu. Craving noodle soup and yelped to find good reviews be many Yelp Elitists. Hubby and I arrived at 1245pm and the restaurant was pretty busy. Luckily, there were no line. We were greeted right away and waited a few minutes while our table was being cleaned. The restaurant is pretty spacious with tables for a party of 4, 6 and 8 people. A QR code was posted at the table for you to view the menu and place your order. There were also 2 large posters of their menu posted outside the resturant window and inside as you walk in for those that want to see what the menu looks like. We ordered the following: 1. Sliced pork ears in hot oil sauce: This is a cold dish. The pork ears were sliced thinly and not overcooked as it had a veru nice crunch to it. It's very flavorful but slightly on the saltier side eating it on its own. We paired it up with our noodles once it came out later. It definitely a great dish to pair with beer/alchy and made me want one but they dont serve alcohol here. 2. Hot and spicy beef noodle with wide noodles and extra spicy. This was an option to choose from or you can have the regular noodles. However, for me anything made fresh can't go wrong. The broth has a nice flavor to it but not as flavorful. It's definitely very oily from the chili oil but a good spice level. It didnt leave an unwanted aftertaste where the spices are overwhelming in your mouth. The wide noodles were so delish as it was chewey. The beef is very tender and melts in your mouth as you bite into it. 3. Garlic sauce with pork noodles: This came with wide noodles and it was a good amount. The pork is very soft ans flavorful but again it's more on the saltier side. I think its good to get a side dish of veggies to add to your noodles so that you're not eating extra sauce which is pretty salty. I needed to order a coke to clear my palate. Both noodle bowls had a very good amount of noodles that fills you up quickly but oh so good. If the dishes were less salty I think everything would've been perfect. We were able to finish the noodle soup and pork ears, but had a small amount of garlic noodle with their sauce left so we took it to go. It'll be good to eat the extra sauce with white rice at home. The service was good as the staff was very attentive with refilling our water as needed and responsive to our requests promptly (coke and to go container). Both times that we've been here, the restaurant was packed each time, but our food always came out quickly and hot. Their hand pulled noodle is way better than Highland with a more uniform thickness that's just chewy enough. It also seems like a family run business over a chain restaurants. Full disclosure: I've been going here for over 5 years on a near-monthly basis, so my loyalty runs deep. My WiFi network is called QQ noodles! I found this place after moving here from NYC and craving the cold skin noodle (liang pi) served at Xi'an's Famous Foods. Their Liang pi is my favorite in the Bay Area - we always order one plate per person even though it's an appetizer. I don't like the sesame based sauce in other versions (just not my preference) so I find the chili oil based sauce to be perfect and the noodle thickness and texture to be satisfying. The gluten adds a toothsome chew and the cucumbers finish with a crunch. This dish is the reason to go alone. Otherwise, the hand pulled dry noodle selection is still excellent - I routinely order the hot oil noodle and garlic noodle with pork. I prefer the wide hand pulled noodles and appreciate that you can switch noodle types for any dish. The soups are all good but I find the broths a bit bland for my taste - judging by their popularity I suspect this is just a cultural nuance I'm missing out on. The beef noodle soups (spicy and non spicy) are both solid but I prefer a darker, more spiced broth. Service is brisk but friendly - there are three men racing around the restaurant bussing, bringing out food and refilling waters. They always bring high chairs and kid bowls/utensils for my family. I'm honestly stunned that this place has such high reviews. On a quest for some beef noodle soup, we picked this place because it had great reviews. My fiancé and I came on a busy Sunday lunch and they were packed. It's cash only by the way. We got two beef noodle soups: mine spicy and his not. When I saw the bowls come out (see photo), I was immediately concerned. It tasted like it looked- very watery and bland. My "spicy" one just had some extra chili oil drizzled on top of it. At first taste, the noodles were decently *QQ*, had a nice chew and good portion. Around half the beef was good, pull apart, the other pieces are harder to eat. The most concerning aspect, though, was the flavorless broth. As we got to the bottom of the bowl, the broth suddenly became more flavorful. It seems like the broth was made from some sort of beef bullion. There was that signature thirsty mouth feel after drinking it. I expected a 'real-er' broth, so it was quite disappointing.
