He did come highly recommended but I am compelled to warn anyone thinking of seeing him for help. He doesn't listen to your concerns/ he does not allow you to be part of picking what treatment you are comfortable with and he spends very little time with you as if he's too busy. I was in a desperate health crisis and Dr Johns used it to his benefit and instilled fear in me. I trusted that the treatment he suggested would help me as he said he was 99 percent sure. What freaking doctor says that !!!! Long story short he told me he was going to do a myomectomy and put in an IUD ( I had 1 fibroid) when I pleaded with him for a hysterectomy ( I am 40, severely anemic, long history of heavy periods and don't want kids ). 6 months later I am running to him as the bleeding came back with a vengeance. I grew 2 more fibroids and now he's rushing me to do a hysterectomy !! This after paying thousands and thousands of dollars. He's looking for more big bucks. Take care of your bodies! Dr. Alan Johns has another office at (and is a founder of) the Women's Surgery Group in Fort Worth, but I've been to this location on Rufe Snow far more often (it was much closer to me for the majority of my life). It may not look as impressive, but it's definitely more convenient when it comes to finding it, parking, and getting inside. You can't get lost and there's nothing to navigate, it's just one simple, one-story building. It can take awhile to get an appointment with Dr. Johns if you're a brand new patient because he's a quite popular and awesome doctor, but his staff is incredible as well and they do their very best to get you in as soon as possible. They also answer their phones and don't leave you on hold forever. If you have a specific question or concern for the doctor, they'll ask you to leave a message with his nurse (hi Teresa, you're the best), and they seriously call you back right away. Prescriptions are ordered and processed quickly so there aren't a bunch of waiting games going on. I've never even had to wait in the waiting room for too long, they get you in and out pretty quickly. Busy busy busy! I've always been 100% comfortable with Dr. Johns and his staff, and I highly recommend them to anyone. They take most insurances and you'll definitely be treated with care. I've never had any sort of issues with them over the years, and I know my mom and sister would say the same. Dr. Johns is actually a survivor of breast cancer and has written a book about it. He's an incredibly smart, funny, and talented doctor who has actually experienced for himself, on some level, what many women with breast cancer go through. Two knee specialists, different clinics, different cities, told me there was no more treatment that would relieve the pain in my knees or improve my mobility. Both suggested knee replacement surgery for both knees. I was faced with an impossible situation. I am primary caregiver for my husband who suffers from advanced Parkinson's Disease. Mobility and falls are primary issues for him. I couldn't see any way I could care for him while a surgical patient. We happened to see an ad for this clinic, and thought it was worth a visit. I took my medical records for a consultation and came away convinced that stem cell injections would be a good course of treatment for me. Two weeks later I had amniotic stem cell injections in both knees. They gave me knee braces to wear a couple of weeks, 4 PT sessions, and addition injections of Hyalgan to lubricate the joints while the stem cells did their repair. After about a month I found I had no more pain. It's been almost 3 years, and I'm still pain free. I even took advantage of their Care Credit arrangement and paid for the treatment in 12 interest free payments. I'm so pleased I took a chance on the Neuropathy and Pain Clinic. I was told I could not get another refill until I saw the doctor again because it has been over a year since my last visit, which I understand is due to policy and standards. I am going through financial hardship and cannot afford to see the doctor again but needed a refill because I was down to my last four pills. I do not have $100 a month I can pay for the payment plan that was offered and when I asked if I could apply my new insurance to help cover my past due balance I was told "no". The person on the phone I spoke with hung up the phone in my ear when I told them I would call back later when I had things figured out. Not even a "goodbye" or a "thank you". It is very dangerous to suddenly go off a beta blocker and I am thankful I was able to find a third party service that was able to refill my medication before my bottle ran out. I was hoping the office would be understanding of my situation and at least offer a 30-day refill until I could come up with the money to see them again. As for the doctor himself, he is amazing. I hate to give his practice two stars but the office would do well to undergo some training in how to deal with patients who may be struggling financially instead of giving them the cold shoulder.

The first two surgeries were basically flat foot reconstruction surgery and the last one was to take out a plate that was bothering me from my first surgery. When coming here you have to interact with Ms BIANCA. She is one of the front desk clerks who is amazing! She greets you by name when you walk in! I love how she's very personable. I never know how she remembers all these patient names. But yes outstanding customer service. I love her! Next up is Ms. CATHY who takes you back and gets your vitals. She is always nice and makes sure she listens to any concerns you have. She always seems to be in a great mood and you can really see she cares about her job and her patients. Next comes my surgeon, DR. BHAKTA. Now when I first met Dr Bhakta it was very quick. He was not very personable or great at listening to ME. I believe this was because he had serviced my dad brother grandpa you name it. i think he believed he knew that I needed surgery. He was not so great at being patient and listening was not there. I felt like he held my life in his hands my surgeries did not go as planned and I feel my life has been forever changed. Words cannot express how this process has been for me. Let's move on to one of his assistants Ms AMBER in my experience she was the absolute worse. She took out my stitches for my first surgery and was not gentle. She made remarks about how many incisions I had saying "wow he sure cut you up like meat" and continued to laugh at my pain while taking my stitches out. She never offered to console me or stop she thought my pain was hilarious. I noticed one of my incisions were not healed and bleeding and when I brought it to her attention she brushed it off and put a cast on me which later turned into a infection. highly do not recommend her for anything. The only reason I feel she was nicer taking out my stitches from this last surgery was because she wanted a good review. She was kind this go around and even offered to help put on my boot which she has never done in the past. Quite frankly I feel she acts as if she doesn't want to touch you sometimes. I just don't recommend her at all! Moving on to therapy Dr. STEVEN is AMAZING!! He is very personable offers very genuine advice and listens to all your concerns. He answers every concern and question you have thoroughly and knowledgeable. Last but not least My good sus Ms. SHAY I love her. I owe all my recovery to her. There was days I truly wanted to give up and just not push through all of this but she not only encouraged me but pushed me to do and be my best! She is truly a gem. She was very relatable understanding and answered all my concerns professionally and when she didn't know she always got the answer for me. I didn't know that therapy was a key part of this process until she came into my life and I'm truly grateful for her. Overall some of the front desk ladies could get a little more training in professionalism and being more genuine when dealing with patients concerning payments or scheduled appointments. I work in customer service myself I know it can be frustrating but I pride myself in making sure every customer has a great experience. I would not recommend this place! He…read moreis very professional, highly skilled, efficient and has a way about him that just makes you comfortable. He gets 5 stars and I would recommend him as a Podiatrist any day of the week... The office however... more so their scheduling leaves a lot to be desired. For each of my procedures, the doctor wanted a follow up (f/u) visit 2 weeks after. However, they jam pack their schedules such that it is almost impossible to have that f/u on time. After the first procedure, I was able to secure a f/u appointment three weeks after the procedure. As for the second one, they scheduled me about 5 weeks out! I informed them that I needed to get in at the required 2 week time because I would otherwise be unable to make it as was moving 4 weeks after my procedure. They said they would call me if something opened up... they called me after I had already moved, so needless to say I never got to see the doctor after the procedure. The reason for the 3 stars is that I understand they're running a business and try to get people in for procedures. That's all good and fine. But the people you're having these procedures on need regular follow ups to ensure everything is healing well! We're people! With lives!! You can't just call us and expect us to drop everything on short notice. That's why appointments are made, so that we can plan accordingly. For me, about a week and a half into my healing, my toe started to pus up. They did not have any available appointments. So, I had to turn to other sources to obtain the necessary treatment. Thank God everything is now healed up fine, but I really wish they had a better system for scheduling follow ups.
