excellent service, great quality work. had a little hick up…read morebut they took care of it promptly and delivered a job well done.

I took my truck in to Safelite for a simple windshield replacement about 5 weeks ago or so. They…read moresaid it would be a simple repair job, I have a 1994 GMC 1500 and there isn't anything special or fancy about the windshield. About an hour or so later the manager asked to speak with me to give me an update about the truck. They said that they wanted me to receive the news from them about what had happened. During installation, the "technicians" had proceeded to get polyurethane all over the pillar that runs alongside the windshield on the interior, and all over the driver side visor. THEN they proceeded to try to strip this poly off the pillar and completely taken the paint off of it. IN regards to the visor, they simply took a box cutter and CUT A HOLE in my cloth visor to try and remove it. In addition to these issues, Safelite had completely botched the windshield job and not only incorrectly installed the windshield with a significant gap at the top (I can hear the wind whistle when I drive), they also got poly urethane along the inside of it to the point where you can see it along the edge, hastily and crudely applied. Management initially only took responsibility for the damage to the pillar, and denied having cut a hole in the visor, but once they reviewed their photos they assured me that they would take complete ownership of the issue and repair all the damage. Since then 4-5 weeks have gone by, I spoke with the assistant manager after about 2 weeks of them assuring me that they would repair and replace the damage. She told me that they were having trouble finding the right parts and therefore had not scheduled the repairs. I had to direct her to the proper websites with OEM parts for this year of truck. Then another 2 weeks went by and I had not heard from the dealership at all and I reached back out. The receptionist once again told me that they did not know what parts to order and were having trouble finding the proper OEM replacement parts. I, again, directed her to the website and gave her the information about what parts and paint products they needed. They assured me that they would contact me the following day with more information. That was 10 days ago. I can only conclude that Safelite does not care about customer service or the quality of their workmanship. They refused to pay for an outside body shop to repair the damage because they felt they could do it themselves, then they proceeded to duck my calls ever since. I cannot respect an organization that is allergic to accountability and making things right. Do not go to this Safelite, or any Safelite, support local like I should have done.
