Loved this place! Great spot with some delicious food! I highly recommend the chicken sandwich!! I will definitely be back! Service was super friendly and I loved the gas station theme. Not too pricey!

Before our concert at the St. Augustine Amp, Mom and I visited GAS - Full Service Restaurant, a retro-modern, kitschy, burger and craft beer spot in a former gas station that is a favorite with locals and nationally (it was visited by the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives). Their craft beer selection was pretty impressive and had a good selection of local and high quality national brews. The Pleasure Chest by Playalinda really hit the spot. The Reuben rolls live up to their famous billing. They were very filling and the Russian dressing went perfectly with them. Both burgers we had were sizable and delicious. The Half Tank was tried on DDD and is worth a shot if you are hungry. Service was outstanding as well. Despite their unassuming location, GAS is definitely worth a trip!

One word "Burgers" Want two words? "Big Burgers" I think you get the idea, big plates, big portions, lots of food. The other idea is that they are known for their burgers. Game. Set. Match. When you are coming over the Bridge of Lions, Gas will be on your right, with parking on the far side. There is a deck with wood rail, but no outside seating because it overlooks the road, do it would not be that scenic. Service was friendly and our server was very eager to make sure we were pleased with our food. Speaking of food, there is a diverse menu, but we stuck with the burgers because our server said "That is what we are known for". Sweet Potato Fries - solid choice, thin, salty and good. Regular fries - these were just okay, honestly I was not a huge fan. Fried Green Tomatoes - solid choice, dense coating, flavor bomb. Sara's Burger - most popular choice, topped with fried green tomatoes. Black and Blue Burger - my wife devoured these, said she would order it again and again. 1/2 Tank Burger - one of two options that have been shown on TV shows, I thought that warranted a look. Burger, pimento cheese, bacon, fried green tomatoes, slaw. After saying all that, it really was not my cup of tea, I found it hard to eat, over salted and just did not suit my flavor profile. Visually, it was pretty stunning. I loved the service of this restaurant and while not having a scenic outdoor view (a lot of St. Augustine restaurants have views), I liked the interior decor. And while I was not thrilled with my meal, there is plenty of items on the menu to try.

What a great spot, parking was easy, the service was very friendly and the hamburgers were amazing. They are very gluten free friendly, try them out!

GAS Full Service Restaurant - Kind of fun theme for a restaurant. You get the vibe from the stack of tires out front to the gas pump door handles on the entry doors. Interior decorating continues the theme. Our server, Lindy was very friendly and helped us navigate a few questions. We each found a craft beer to our liking, I settled on the Aardwolf Hipster Zeppelin, which is a Cherry Lime, what I'd call "semi sour" (not a big fan of sours but this was good and refreshing). They have a great selection of burgers. I chose the Half Tank Burger and let me say if I had been choosing the name, I would have gone with Full tank because I was happily full afterwards! Meat used for burgers was outstanding, very tender, local meat. Add some pimento cheese, slaw, really tasty bacon and a few fried pickles and what is not to like. I went with the basic Fries, which were okay but sampled the sweet potato fries, and they were really good. Not sure how we've missed this stop all these years, but we'll definitely be returning to fuel up again soon!

We saw this place on Diner's, Drive in and Dives. A tiny hole in the wall located in St. Augustine. We were met right away by the host and sat. Our waitress, Zaida, was awesome. Super friendly and attentive, with a good sense of humor. She had all the answers to our questions and didn't seem put off by our questions. They had a decent selection of draft beers and I enjoyed my Honey Sour the most. We then went with the two signature burgers we had seen on D,D and D. The tank half full burger was perfectly cooked and had such great flavor. The monster Jalapeño Popper Burger was loaded with flavor as well and unbelievably huge. This place is so worth the stop for any local or tourist

My husband found this place and we are in love!!! I called ahead because we had the kids with us and the lady who took my order was so nice despite the screaming behind me lol We ordered chicken nuggets and fries for the kids which they loved. The fries were nicely seasoned. Hubs got the half tank burger and it was amazing! I loved that it was topped with fried pickles- so tasty. I got the mushroom swiss bean burger on a gluten free bun and it was sooooooo good! I couldn't even tell that bun was gluten free and the burger was seasoned perfectly. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake which was so rich and yummy. It tasted like a melted chocolate bar. We also got the coconut creme brulee- what a cool combo of flavors! It was decadent and I liked the coconut twist. We will definitely be back!!!

Small and quaint place, food was served hot and it was delicious. The server was informative, friendly and fast. I will most definitely come back to this place when I visit Saint Augustine.

After years of trying to catch them open or remembering to stop when in the area, I did it. I am in celebration they are still loved and I know why now. Those chargrilled burgers on those buttery toasted buns with those crispy fries are so great. It was a experience as I adorned each bite. I am hooked and this is a place that should consider opening more locations. The building is themed from the first location and is they are right over the Lions bridge well within a great tourist area. The young adults working gave us great service and were very pleasant. I'll be back, again and again..

Good experience. Great burger- we had the stuffed jalapeño burger which was unique and worth a try. The ribs were just ok. The kids meals were great. Cute place and good craft beer on tap for cheap. Wasn't a fan of the ribs.

The vibe is cool here - casual, but hip and happening. They have a regular menu and a specials menu with some neat stuff on it. We got the jalapeño popper burger, which is tough to eat since it falls apart a bit, but SUPER good. The southern chicken pot pie was also really good as well, particularly the mashed potatoes! Service was quick and friendly too. This was really great, and we definitely recommend it you are in the St. Augustine area!

I am overly happy with the atmosphere, our waitress, food, the decor/ambience, beer/wine choices, & the location of this restaurant! 1,000% I will be returning. **HINT: Try the fried, green tomatoes: lightly breaded, well-seasoned, & fresh!

Reviewed: Fried Green Tomatoes, sautéed catch of the day (Mahi) sandwich on brioche bun with pickles and lemon caper aioli, 1/2 tank burger, grilled shrimp kids meal. WHERE DO I BEGIN?! Found this place on Google, super cute ambience and nicely busy. Super clean. Waitress was Zada who is delightful. Good beer selection and I do love me a good pear vodka mule that's 8% alcohol. I've never had fried green tomatoes and they were greatly seasoned and came with ranch. My kid even ate them!! The sandwich came with a big piece of sautéed mahi and it was cooked to perfection. The lemon caper aioli was made well and really added to the flavor. The bun is a new recipe and it works. It was good to the last bite. The kids grilled shrimp was nicely seasoned and he kept asking for more after he was finished. Add the lemon, acidity makes the taste even better! Hubs had the 1/2 tank burger, which was huge and had crispy bacon and homemade pimento cheese that hubs said was the best he's ever had. ** tips and tricks*** add a fried green tomato for even further epicness! Would absolutely come here again!! Pic of tank burger attached.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.
