Aug 2020. Came for dinner and movie night (Jaws). The menu was good: I had the seekers with green beans and mashed potatoes, they were really good. I also had a cocktail and we got popcorn for the table. Our sever Benjamin was great :-) he helped us with the bill for the table and split it as we needed it. The movie started at 8 pm sharp and the sound and image were perfectly clear. We were lucky was a warm summer night and by the time the event was over it was 81 degrees! No sweater needed! Staff were wearing masks and gloves, we got out temp checked before getting to our table and social distancing between tables was reinforced. Great location on PCH with ample parking. This place was lively and had great spaces/areas for whatever your group is up for that evening. There's a large bar, plenty of table areas, and of course a stage with a good sized dance floor. I tried their sangria and it was a great sweet treat! Came here for a divorce party and the waitress was so nasty and rude. My friend and i ordered 1 drink each mine was a Shirley temple and for some reason the waiter rude to us she took my friends debit card said she had to hold it, we were so confused because she didnt do that to any of the other tables and when it was time to close out she told us she never took the card with the nastiest attitude as if she was ready to fight. She is incompetent she clearly racially profiled us as we are both black women. She told us A bold face lie saying "if i dont charge the card i dont have the card." That means she took our card as if we weren't going to pay as if she needed insurance a practice that is not the restaurants policy obviously she couldn't even remember taking our card. so when i call there to complain directly to the manager about the Navy federal card with the name Tracy Robinson you will know exactly what im talking about! Had a terrible experience at this Venue on last Saturday- plus they charged me for drinks I didn't even order. I am super disappointed about my night at Gas Lamp. My first drink was wrong... I ordered a vodka red bull and they served me something with whisky. Then I ordered food (braised short rib) and it was given to another patron. The server was apologetic as was the female manager (blond hair) and the staff even brought us a few drinks that we DIDN'T order... I assumed they were comps but in the end they changed me for EVERYTHING! So much wrong here guys! They can do better, but they just don't care. I have tried to reach them for days... they don't return email or messages. They know they are doing bad! But simply don't care. I feel bad because I know things have been bad for the bar industry... but to offer free drinks and then charge me. Terrible. I still don't understand what happened, I don't know if there's fraud involved? I don't know if your bartenders are racking up drinks? Went for no doubt sublime tribute band and was a great time. Went Friday for another 80's cover band and stood til closing. Good vibes and great service will be back this weekend. Located in Long Beach off of PCH. Parking is limited so get there early to avoid the hassle of parking or better yet Uber. I attended on a Friday night for a tribute band to the 80's known as Knyte Ryder. They have a pretty decent band following and a cover is charged $10 per person after 9pm. I do recommend table reservations if you have a group meeting up. We booked a table a week in advance and was required a $300 minimum which could be food or drinks. I thought our server was a bit slow with drinks. It was definitely easier to go to the bar and order then wait for her. Otherwise, drinks were subpar. Ok my bad, gaslamp kind of gives you a divey bar feel, so no idea why I ordered sangria. It sucked. I tried a margarita after the sangria and was still extremely underwhelmed. Next time I will have to stick to a modelo and call it a day. Overall, venue is huge. Lots of space to dance on the dance floor. The outdoor patio with the fire pits is also a win. The food was ok the drinks weren't taste at all. I started with a signature margarita (2 hoping it would get better)no flavor. Next the Long Island it only got worse. Lastly it was like a raspberry martini that was ok. The band was awesome everyone was dancing it. That was definitely worth the $15 cover charge. Two words...Knyght Ryder! I love coming here with a group of friends on a Friday to have a couple of drinks, dance our butts off and listen to one of the greatest cover bands! I recently had my Birthday shindig at the Gaslamp so it was my first time eating here and it was delicious! We ordered the crab cakes, calamari and filet minion skewers. Everything was done very nicely which surprised me since I only know it as a bar. I'll definitely make it here earlier next time so I can have dinner prior to the shenanigans. This place is awesome. I give it five stars based on a few things. First let me be clear. This place has a dive bar feel which I am totally cool with. Depending on the crowd and live band playing you're gonna get a different vibe I am sure. I attended the Eagles Tribute band and they were awesome. I think Gaslamp does not mess around when it comes to tribute bands being booked here. This was our first time and on a first time its a fact finding mission. there are so many options in the LBC they get "one shot". This place was great. Overall staff was good. Some better than others. Kelly the bartender was awesome. Food was better than I thought. When it comes to entrees I would say you can expect mass served wedding entree style food that you get when you go to a decent hotel reception wedding and that's not a bad thing for a place like this. Also standard bar food was fine. There was a mix of fans when it comes to the Eagles but what it seemed like overall from the establishment was the expectation of no snobs allowed and it did have an Egalitarian feel. (I couldn't help it. ) which is awesome! Very disappointing. We went to 80's night with live music tonight. Tables were spread out outdoors and rules were clear - no dancing, must stay seated, and masks required when not seated. They maintained order a little bit at first but we got up and left after we paid our bill and talked to a manager- our table was surrounded by crowds dancing, no masks. We saw the kitchen crew with masks down, and the manager' Jenn just said "it's hard to maintain order." Not safe, poorly managed and we will not be back. read more

I went to the tribute Eagles concert last night. Food wasn't the greatest. The concert was so bad, I stayed there till 9 pm. This group cannot sing well, they were not even harmonizing and the guitar skill wasn't impressive. Lousy band and make it look like they have are super. I wondered why they got hired for the night. Some karaoke singers sing in a bar even better. They asked for my credit card ahead of time. I told the waitress I am paying cash. One salad with meat almost over twenty some plus gratitudes$5.18 and tax almost total $36.73, I gave her $40.00. She gave me short change with the amount $3.00 which is supposed to be $3.27. Then I realized she processed my card regardless. I have to file a dispute with my bank for charging me twice. I would not going to this vampire restaurant again. Was in the area recently and was just looking for a cold beer and a snack and this surprisingly large restaurant was just opening, so I opted to give them a try. Sat at the bar and my bartender was also my server, he was not only professional and courteous he made sure I saw happy without being overbearing. I ordered a cold draft, since I of my favorites happened to be on a tap. Standard bar food, with a happy hour selection as well. Opted for the nachos with grilled chicken and it was a huge plate. The food came out promptly, and was actually very good. A decent ratio of tortilla chips to melted cheese, grilled chicken and black beans with fresh guacamole, sour cream and salsa. I sat there leisurely and enjoyed my tasty snack with my cold brew for about an hour. Had another cold one to finish the nachos with and settled up and on my way. It was an early Friday evening and the band that plays there regularly, as I was informed, has a large following and by the time I left it was starting to fill up. All the tables were reserved as were most of the seating areas. Attended a birthday party last Sunday, 08/20/2023. It was raining really hard, the staff welcomed the party with open arms. Went inside, the venue was large and the way it was decorated was awesome. The food was fabulous. My son who is a picky eater, loved his breakfast burrito. What also made the venue pop was the band Breezin from Orange County. Gaslamp recently starting promoting Cowboy Thursdays, featuring live bands, a DJ playing Country music, line dancing and instruction. I was offered free passes ($5 cover) and decided to check out Gaslamp for myself. Immediately walking in, the first thing I noticed was how upscale Gaslamp is compared to my usual line dancing haunt. I'm talking laser lights, smoke machine, even the restrooms are an upgrade to what I've been accustomed to. The dance floor, where all the magic happens, is a little small, but nothing I can't get accustomed to. It just means I can't really cut loose & own the floor like I usually do ;p The dance instructor brings baby powder for dancers to scuff on the soles of their boots and/or dancing shoes for spinning, as the floor is sticky and hard to spin without it. My cohorts kindly offered me some of what they ordered off the menu. Parmesan garlic fries - You had me at parmesan & garlic. Yes, even though I was two-stepping with the ladies, I didn't mind suffering from anti-social garlic breath. Hey, it was good! Lettuce wraps (choice of chicken or tofu )- Cilantro, cabbage, water chestnut, mushrooms, green onions, organic butter & lettuce. Trio of sauces on the side were sweet soy, sweet chili & sriracha. Yummy! Adding the sweet soy, sweet chili & a few dollops of sriracha, the chicken lettuce wraps were great while taking a breather from all the dancing. Bacon cheddar slider - I found this to be rather salty. I know, know, of course it's salty, because of the bacon. However, coming from a bacon lover, I still found the bacon and patty to be too salty, even for my taste. Free slice of cheesecake or chocolate cake with check-in & purchase of an entrée! I enjoyed their energy while belting out classic 80's music, which I hold near & dear to my heart. Special events, such as UFC, tributes & gigs by comedy headliners like Jay Mohr & Andrew Dice Clay are also held here, with some having pre-sale tickets to accommodate high demand. A good amount of seating with tables & booths. Reservations make sure you secure a good seat, otherwise bar seating is available. There are private VIP areas with couches & an outdoor patio which is being renovated with heat lamps & such. Service from the waitstaff was friendly & efficient. We were brought out pitchers of water frequently, in order to hydrate from all that sweat dripping off us onto the dance floor. Parking is complimentary & in a private lot. Shall we dance? Fun times & great memories are to be held at Gaslamp Restaurant & Bar. I came away quite impressed with my first visit of Cowboy Thursdays, and plan to be a regular dancer there whenever I can. Honestly, I am still shocked by the absolutely beyond rude treatment I received from someone who I believe to be either management or an owner. She is a middle aged woman with blonde hair who has had quite a bit of Botox. I have had a pretty hard year. I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, had my 2nd surgery on Nov 30th and was so happy to go listen to 80s music on New Years Eve. We spent well over $1000 last night, and as we are getting ready to leave this middle aged woman starts harassing me trying to kick me out because I had taken my high heels off at 1am after 6 hours. I told her, who cares we are leaving. My boyfriend was trying to find the other members of our party and he had my shoes. She would not let up and kept saying the sign says no shoes no service. Are you serious? I will never ever spend one more dollar at this establishment. That is unbelievable. On top of that, the liquor is NOT what you pay and ask for. I requested stolichnaya vodka and it smelled and tasted like rubbing alcohol. I am a bartender and Stoli does not taste like that. read more

As soon as I walked in I just wanted to love this place. It has a cool, retro "Blue Velvet" vibe to it. I came early, before the entertainment started. On most nights they have something going on by 7 or 8pm whether it be a band or comedy or karaoke or whatever. I just wanted some food; specifically the PBJ monte cristo I'd heard about. Once seated I looked at the menu and saw that what I'd come for was listed as "PBJ french toast", which is different than a monte cristo. So I was immediately disappointed but went ahead and ordered it. I decided I should also get something non-sweet so ordered a basket of tots and 3 sliders. The waitress was very nice and let me know that the sliders were on the happy hour menu and I could get them cheaper that way. Thank you! I sincerely appreciated that. The tots were pretty darn good. Piping hot with both cheese dip and ketchup. The sliders were so-so. The meat and buns were not the best quality according to my taste buds. The PBJ french toast was basically a peanut butter and jelly sandwich made with french toast, perched in a lake of syrup & caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed it but I couldn't help imagining how much better it could be as a deep fried monte cristo. Other reviewers mention it is deep fried (and photos confirm this) so apparently, for some reason, they stopped making it as a monte cristo recently. Too bad because, as it is now, I liked it but it didn't "wow" me enough to make me want to come back again for it. One of those situations where it was good yet still disappointing because it didn't achieve its potential. Service was mostly attentive and friendly. We arrived to the restaurant at 5:00pm where we had a reservation. We were promptly seated (only guests) in the restaurant, however once seated it took roughly 5-10 minutes to even see our waitress and get our drink order placed. The inside of the restaurant is actual pretty nice, plenty of seating, concerts, trivia, comedy depending on what night it is. The place offers ample parking but the service is dreadfully slow. After being seated and getting drinks we finally placed our food order (we were using a groupon) which then took a substantial amount of time to come out. The appetizer came out only a couple minutes before the entrees which left you little time to finish. The food itself was pretty good at least in my case. I had the flat iron steak ($20) which came with green beans and french fries (w/ truffle oil & garlic). Many reviews I had seen on Yelp were raving about the fries but I myself found them quite tasteless and odd. Upon the completion of our meal we sat literally for a good 20 minutes before FINALLY getting the check. Only 2-3 people arrived to eat so the place was still quite slow so the fact that the service took so long was a little alarming. I've gone to Gaslamp a few times and the food is always good but they need to work on their air conditioning. I could not enjoy my dinner because it was so hot. It is miserable when everyone is sweating and fanning themselves at their table. I only give them a 2 stars because the food was ok. First time here and had a great time. We stayed in the motel next door, which wasn't so great, but convenient to be walking distance. I wasn't expecting a $25 cover charge and almost walked away if I didn't have a friend already inside waiting for me. The dinner menu was limited. I had the steak and my wife had the seared ahi. Both were really good. We got to see the the tail end of the first band, Pat Benatar. They were ok, however Heart killed it. What a great show, performance, level of energy and even their costumes were cool, which I typically don't care about that stuff. I was really excited to go back the gas lamp during this pandemic. I'm happy to see them still in business and working to keep their business in order. I can only imagine the challenges that they face. However, I was really disappointed to the environment that I experienced. First off, we went for brunch and the food took much longer than it should have. Nearly 40 minutes, not once did someone come by and apologize for the time it took or explain the delay. Second, the servers were highly irresponsible. There was a group there drinking, which many of us were however they got behind the wheel and reversed into the dividers and nearly knocked it over. The hostess was there and saw them drive off. While I understand people are there to drink there's a responsibility that should have been taken to protect them and others to stop the pour and pull their keys. Then behind me, was another table where a young girl was so drunk and left alone that she couldn't even count her cash to pay for the bill. The servers tried helping her but just kept laughing with her and counting the cash with her. I get Sunday brunch is a moment to let lose and have a nice meal but for the safety of your patrons and the reputation of your restaurant you may want to look at some best practices of pulling back on the drinks and offering up some more H2O. I really hope the environment here changes, I have great memories of seeing some dope shows and enjoying some great times with friends.
