I visited Luna Bistro with my sister for a much needed drink and yap session and we absolutely loved this place. We sat at the bar which immediately felt like we were transported to a luxurious beach front restaurant with beautiful decor and an amazing atmosphere. For drinks we tried: their seasonal spritz's - guava and berry lavender being our faves We also had their lemon drop martinis which were so delicious. For food we shared the following appetizers: shrimp and mussels, smashburger sliders and fried salmon pieces, everything was delicious and really yummy. The restaurant is lively and really stunning, we interacted with many of the restaurant staff and everyone was really charming and attentive. I would highly recommend for a date night, girls dinner, birthday dinner, etc because it really makes for a beautiful time. read more

Food is good . Happy hour menu is great, along with the lengthy hour 2-5:30!! The service is horrible! It's the second time we've had the same girl and she is slow. When you see your drinks sitting at the bar well for 10 minutes & then need to ask them and still need to wait ... it's also poor service when they bring two of three meals and we wait for the third for 10 more minutes still waiting also for our drinks...... also waiting for our ceviche. The restaurant was not busy nor was it crowded. Usually the waitress ask if you'd like anything else before happy hour ends but ours did not . The food was great especially for the price!! The vibes are nice and cozy/ cool. The server I had was super kind and helpful! The only downside is that my friend and I experienced sexual harassment by a staff at closing and there were two male bartenders that stood and said nothing to correct their coworker. It was honestly a pretty uncomfortable experience and after many attempts to redirect him he continued until we left. New favorite spot. The ambiance is beautiful, with indoor and outdoor seating. Our waitress, Natalie, was very friendly and attentive. The food was incredible and their salsa is so flavorful. My kids even boasted that the fries here remind them of McDonald's fries because they taste so good. My fish tacos were delicious. I also ordered the 'Flower Girl' cocktail, which was delicious and beautifully garnished with baby's breath flowers. The restaurant itself gives off very much Tulum vibes! Very boho with lots of cute greenery plants! Really loved the aesthetics of the place! I ordered the spam and egg fried rice and my friend got the chorizo and egg Benedict. Both plates delicious. Although I would have loved more spam with my fried rice. I have to write another review to talk about Luna Bistro's happy hour!!!! First as always, the ambiance, the cleanliness, the customer service is always excellent! Now let's talk about the food. The crispy fish tacos are fresh, crunchy and flavorful at a great price. The slaw on those tacos and the fish itself were perfection. The carnitas sliders with the soft bun and flavorful meat are a winner. The pork on the sliders are well seasoned and cooked to perfection without being wet or too dry. The edges of the meat have a slight crunch. DO NOT PASS UP THESE HAPPY HOUR MENU ITEMS!! We also tried the crunchy beef tacos. Well seasoned ground beef, cheese, fresh lettuce with the seared corn tortilla were delicious. They tasted like you were at someone's home eating mama's homemade tacos. My only complaint were the drinks. I am a light weight so one drink and I'm done. I ordered the Pineapple Paloma. I did not taste the liquor and it did not have a pineapple flavor. The best thing about my drink was the Tajin on the rim of the glass. My husband ordered the Blanca Paloma. It tasted like a light fruit water. Again , it was watered down. My hubby also ordered a margarita which surprisingly tasted a lot like the Blanca Paloma but you could tell it had a little more liquor. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. Pretty versatile menu, there were Mexican food options as well as pasta and burgers too! We made it for happy hour so got to take advantage of the cheaper prices. What I ordered: -happy hour "Border" Crunchy Tacos: On the smaller side but I think that's just how they are here. They were delicious and the salsa that came with them was a great addition. 4/5 -Rice and beans: Good but nothing too special. The rice seemed more like a garlic butter rice than a traditional Spanish red rice. Overall got the job done in making me full though! 3/5 We had a great experience here and everyone in my group enjoyed their food! Finally made it to Luna! With no reservation on a Friday night, we were able to get a seat on the patio within minutes of arrival. It worked great for us as the inside was full, loud, and had a band playing. Outside was chill and enjoyable. A rather extensive menu made deciding what we wanted a bit tough. This place transported me back to Tulum. The atmosphere felt like a vacation. The music, the drinks, the food, and the staff were all excellent. We ordered the salmon bites, Baja fish tacos with rice and beans and the seafood pasta. The salmon bites were good but just slightly dry/over cooked. The sauce on the side made them slightly better. The Baja tacos were amazing. The toppings (including the salsa on the side) were the perfect mix of savory, sweet, and spicy. The pasta had a good amount of protein/ seafood and great portion size for leftovers. I went on a Saturday evening so there was live music on the inside and a TV + music playing on the outdoor patio. Visited Luna twice while I was in Long Beach and a great spot for Happy Hour. Received excellent service from both Natalie and Carla during my two visits. The cocktails are nicely crafted, great for photos, but on the lighter side, as far as alcohol goes. I tried the Pineapple Paloma, Mezcalita, and Paloma Blanca. The Happy Hour food was incredible! I tried the Carnitas tacos and the Baja fish tacos and they were both exceptional. I had to take a few things off, due to an allergy, so you will also get pico, and salsa on top as well. My Niece took me here for a birthday celebration on an early Wednesday evening! It was not too overwhelmingly busy and with reservations we were seated outside promptly. It was very nice and there was heat lamps that gave use an additional comfort and the view of the surrounding neighborhood was pleasant and peaceful. It's been a while since I was there so I don't remember the names of our dishes but I've included the pics and let me just say that the food was delicious and the icing on the cake was the delicious drinks we had afterwards. We came to try Luna Bistro Cafe on a weekday afternoon which happened to be their Happy Hour. There were some discounted food and drinks during this time. The interior is large, spacious, and very modern with a lot of cloud motifs. Service was fine, though our waitress completely forgot our water refill request. We ordered mini fish tacos off of the Happy Hour menu, plus salmon bites and The Favorite Salad from the regular menu. Everything was tasty though to me portions were just okay for the price. Presentation was definitely gorgeous though. The Mango Lemonade and Triple Berry Hibiscus drinks were tasty but a bit small for $6 considering they were non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, Luna is a bit on the pricier side but the atmosphere is elegant and refined while still not being uptight. The biggest issue is when the server allows people to vape inside the restaurant. Looks like they were either friends or regulars.

I usually get the eggplant bites to start, I've had the eggplant burger too which comes with fries and I can never fully finish. Not a or of vegan options... Disclosure: The green sauce in soryrizo taquitos come with chicken broth. But the espresso martinis!!!! Banana creme one is my go to hands down. I dusky sit at the bar which is usually busy but I always prefer it. Or the high top tables so I can be close to the live music they have certain evenings. You wouldn't think this gem was tucked into this strip mall. The food prices were reasonable and speaking of food, everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, but once you're inside it's a bright space with great decor that says tropical vibes. Their were a lot of food choices for me, which made it difficult since I love Mexican food, but I ordered the steak Al sur and the steak was very tender and flavor the carnitas enchilada was a bit dry for me. I've been here twice now and can say I've enjoyed both experiences. The ambiance is super cute- kind of like Tulum or Greece vibes. The cocktails are amazing. I recommend the Banana Cream Espresso Martini and the Dirty Martini. My friend did express that the Luna Guava Margarita was pretty strong (not a bad thing). I finally made it to Luna for Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour! I arrived around 3:00 PM when it wasn't busy yet. While the atmosphere is stunning, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. 5/5 Margarita: It was tasty & refreshing. Fresh with a dried lime wedge, pretty too. Perfect amount of salt. 4/5 Crunch tacos: the salsa makes it juicy, could of used cotija cheese 5/5 Daviola Shrimp, garlicky, medium spice and delicious 5/5 Kids Smash Burger, kiddo loves their burger, meaty and a great size 5/5 Flan, it's one of the best I've had. Order it 3/5 The Service: I was seated at a small 2-top in the center of the room; as a parent with a toddler, a booth or a high chair offer would have made a huge difference. My initial server was quite stoic and slow to take my order, though she warmed up after I asked for her name. Additionally, I was incorrectly charged full price for a Happy Hour beer by my second server Hailey. I still tipped 20%, but for a $95 bill, I expected a bit more "hospitality" but will say my water was replenished at all times. I want to love this place for the vibes and the kitchen quality, but I'm hoping for better service ethics next time. The start felt a little unorganized due to lack of communication, but things smoothed out once we were seated. The space is beautiful, pretty cream and green tones, soft textures, and thoughtful design throughout. It honestly feels like dining in an art gallery. However, we sat on the patio, which was a great choice, and the music added to the fun, laid-back vibe. Service was okay but inconsistent, no water refills and minimal check-ins. Nothing terrible, but it could be more attentive. The food was the highlight. We ordered fish tacos, ceviche, salt & pepper wings, and the naughty fries, plus a peach lemon drop and dirty martini. Everything was fresh and well presented. The ceviche was light and refreshing, wings were crispy, and the fish tacos were flavorful--but the naughty fries were the standout. Cheesy, crispy, and addictive...definitely a must-order. Total came out to $73.88, which felt fair for happy hour. In the end, I came for the decor, but the food made it worth it.
