But these? 100% guarantee to be the best strawberries you'll ever eat! We go early in the morning before it gets hot. It's pretty nice strolling down the lanes of strawberries and finding ripe ones. We got 10 lbs last trip and froze them so we can have them as long as possible. I feel like every time I go down to Sacramento, I'll be trying to figure out how to come down here. Pay attention to package dates so you don't get items that have been sitting around. If you don't you are absolutely wasting your money here. I was in the area buying fresh crabs at the Ferrari Fisheries pop up stand which was down the road... a few minutes drive. So I popped on over to Dave's. But wait a minute, the stand used to be named Vierra Farms. Same place, different name. Déjà vu. The stand sells fruits, vegetables, fresh cut flowers, local Becker honey, packaged dried fruit, frozen filleted fish from Ferrari Fisheries, and a variety of animal feed ( for horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc). The product pricing is on par with a grocery store or possibly cheaper; the quality is way better than my local grocer. I bought mandarins, onions, bell peppers, leafy lettuce, beets, and a flower. The flowers were $3 a stem. The produce looked all so gorgeous and fresh and tasted great.

Specifically, I found this snack called Khatta Meetha, a very popular "Indian snack mix (namkeen) known for its balance of sweet ("meetha") and tangy or sour ("khatta") flavors" according to Google. So it's like a snack mix made of chickpea flour noodles (sev), fried rice flakes (poha), green peas, and roasted peanuts. The seasoning is what makes it so good, yes, it's definitely the combo of sweet and tangy that makes it so tasty. Anyways, they've got a ton of fresh produce, ethnic ingredients and frozen foods as well as plenty of pantry foods like large bags of basmati rice, giant cans/jars of ghee, etc. I don't really cook so I won't know what to do with any of these food items, but everything looks fresh and reasonably priced. All in all, a great place to get South Asian authentic ethnic ingredients and prepared foods, and the bakery sure looks like a great place for anyone with a sweet tooth. In any case, it's a grocery store in the Florin area of Sacramento, and shares the same parking lot as Costco South Sac, so it's easy to come by after regular grocery shopping. Taj is a really good-sized Indian grocery store that focuses on providing what you won't find in regular stores. It's pretty well known for its extensive selection of spices, ethnic snacks, fresh produce and specialty items from India, Pakistan, Fiji, and other South Asian countries. I like to come every once in awhile to refill my spice jars bc they sell spices by the bag so it's more economical and they offer so many different spices! Some popular features that I notice their regular customers really like include an in-store bakery, their sweets section, and food trucks serving authentic street food right outside the entrance. The service is efficient and they always have complimentary chai tea which is nice when it's cold out, and even in warmer weather, it's a nice gesture even if it's too hot for steaming hot tea. The staff are usually busy helping or checking out customers or stocking or organizing shelves, but they are available to help find items and for questions if you just ask. Overall, it's a great and large supermarket that I find convenient for finding specialty ingredients like curries, ginger powder, garam masala, etc for cooking Indian cuisine or to add some Indian flavors to my home cooked dishes. You will notice that I took pictures of unique veggies that are usually not sold at a typical supermarket, and also of my favorite Indian snacks and sweets.

They had never been here before, but got the recommendation from a friend. Located in Hollywood Park, South of Land Park. Check their hours before you go as on Sunday they are only open till 3pm. Every other day they are open till 7:30pm. Though I'm not sure I would like to be that neighbor after dark, but that is up to you. The car parked behind us was missing its windshield and the truck across the street towing the camper had a windshield, but it looked like a spiderweb. Their parking lot is very small. Many people parallel park on the street. Our friend is an expert at parallel parking. I was impressed. Lalo is part of a strip mall that including a laundromat which they keep 2 spaces open for. That makes total sense as who wants to drag their laundry up the block to take it to the laundromat. That would be so awkward. When we were there those two spaces were vacant. Apparently no one wanted to do their laundry on a hot Sunday Afternoon. As expected after reading several reviews the restaurant is hot. It was about 90 outside and it was very warm and stuffy inside. I'm not sure if they have AC and it wasn't blowing enough or they don't have AC and just relay on fans. They did have a couple of fans blowing, but it wasn't enough. It was so hot that I'm not much of a drinker and I downed a glass of ice water and Horchata. Both were very good. It would have been nice if it were chilled and then they added the ice. Unless you like the heat I suggest you save your visit to the fall or winter. We started off with chips, a spicy salsa and beans. I think they were complimentary, but I'm not sure as we didn't get an itemized receipt. That was a bit confusing as we don't know if they really took off the rice that never arrived. We're totally trusting them that they removed that. Next we received our drink. I ordered the Horchata and they split a large melon fresco, at least I think that's what they ordered. And we had ice water all around that we all drank as it was so hot inside. I enjoyed the iced Horchata. It was very flavorful, though I wish it was colder. I think it was room temperature when they put it in the glass and just added ice. It also helped to calm my mouth on the spiciness. Two of us ordered a two taco plate Al Carte. Beans and rice was not included. One of us ordered a side of rice, but it never arrived. My husband ordered the Chiles Rellenos De Queso. The Poblano Peppers were spicier than I've had in the past in other restaurants. He though thee plate was average, Even the beans and rice weren't standout. He though the beans and rice we had this past Friday at our local taqueria was better. And I thought the Chiles Rellenoes was better at Tower. So sadly we won't be ordering the Chilies Relenos again. I had a Barcacoa Taco, it was only ok. It was over $6 and not worth it. I found it flavorless and the spicy salsa didn't add to the flavor it was just spicy. On the other hand the Al Pastor taco was very tasty.I should have said not to the hot sauce being added to it as it didn't add to the flavor. The Al Pastor was under $4. They were generous on the meat for the tacos. You could easily split the tortillas into two tacos as you got two tortillas with each taco and could made 2 additional tacos, thus I could have had 4 tacos instead of the served 2 tacos. Our friend has the Chilaquiles which was a gigantic portion. The meat was piled on high. The only down side of this dish was it took so long to be served. The rest of us had about finished our meals when he got served. So, poor service on their party. There are so many taco shops and Mexican on restaurants around that there is no need to go to one more then once. Even though we have our local taqueria that we frequent all the time. We probably won't be back unless some other friends really want to go then we'd be all over that. The most important thing is spending time with friends no matter what or where you eat.
