I traveled from Florida to see my doctor and was referred to this facility to have an MRI done before heading home. They required I pay over $1,300.00 upfront because I had not yet met my deductible. It has now been two weeks and they haven't even filed the claim. So I emptied out my HSA to pay them and had to pay $800 for my medication today because of this place being so slow. I called and spoke to billing last week and the person that was going to look into the issue and call me back but of course never did. Billing is just one of the issues I have with this place. I have severe back issues and being in an MRI machine for over an hour is never pleasant. Typically the tech will talk to you and to let you know how much longer and such but they didn't do anything here. I squeezed the button 2x that I was uncomfortable but the tech just kept me in there saying it would just be a few more min. I would never recommend this place they are awful and need to get their act together. read more

The Gateway Diagnositic Imaging billing department is a scam organization. After submitting all my insurance information, they still made me pay up front. Then they filed insurance after that and got paid from my insurance. After receiving the "Explanation of Benefit" from BCBS, the insurance company paid them full amount. I called them and demanded a refund. They kept dancing around, gave me one data after another one. My service is on the early May, and now almost mid July, and they have not refunded me. The flexible spending account put me on hold, since my payment to them were covered by insurance. If you have an insurance, tell them send you the bill after insurance is filed. I didn't think I'd write a review for an MRI, but I have to because of the amazing technician that assisted me. I will try to find out her name and update as she was flat out the nicest Technician (medical personnel) I've met to date. The facility was fine, but the MRI was a tight fit. She couldn't have been more accommodating and patient with me. She absolutely made stressful situation much better. I ended up not getting through the entire MRI, but she schedule me for the Richardson location that is more comfortable. Who knew that getting stuffed into a tube with little room to breath would trigger some latent claustrophobia. read more

I wish I had known about Gateway Diagnostic before. Their staff got me in and out so quickly with no appointment and their prices are amazing. Although I have good insurance, I do appreciate when a medical provider offers their services at a fair price so that my out of pocket is minimized. With Gateway, there was no out of pocket because their fee was so low. I had to have another chest x-ray just 30 days after the one at Gateway and it was mandated at another facility and I had to pay $158.00 upfront for the same exact service I got for FREE at Gateway. They said they work hard to keep their prices low and fair and they are right. From now on, if I can pick where I get my imaging done, it will be at Gateway. read more

Unfortunately for me, I've had to have several imaging studies lately, but fortunately I've been able to have several of them at Gateway. The latest was a MRI and my physician ordered it at 4:30 pm. I took the order to Gateway at 4:45 pm and was finished with the exam by 6:00 pm. From the registration staff to the technician, everyone was so friendly and professional. I was very impressed with how easy the scheduling of the initial appointment was to do. They're at a great central location with ample parking. I abhor parking garages, so I really appreciated the fact that I could park right in front of the building and walk on in. Not only that, but the diagnostic test was easy peasy. Came here for an ultrasound of my thyroid. Plenty of parking and the receptionist was very friendly. Didn't wait long at all and once I was called back the scan went quickly, with the tech explaining everything she was doing so I wouldn't be nervous. Very quick appointment. I never received a bill from this location. Now my wife has received a collections bill. I have used Gateway multiple times and never had a issue until now. I wish you guys could have sent the bill to me or atleast contact me. Very upset that this has happened. read more

My experience was a great one. The tech was very kind and courteous. She took the time to be concerned about my comfort and being covered. I have had several x-rays at Gateway Diagnostic and each time I have not had to wait but a few minutes and the procedures have been quick and fairly painless considering they were of my back. The day before my appointment the staff gave me a reminder call and asked that I arrive 15 minutes early for new patient paperwork. The location is in an office building and does not have much signage, so if you are unfamiliar with the area, it is a little difficult to find for the first time. Have a google maps printout or device with maps and you should not have much trouble locating them. As another review noted, there is a strong fragrance in the waiting area. This was not an unpleasant smell, but strong. Maybe they could dial back on this? The staff was very friendly and professional from check in to check out. After filling out my new patient paperwork, I waited no more than 10 minutes to be called back for my imaging. The technician was also very friendly and professional. He asked if I had any questions and walked through everything he was doing. He kept me informed the whole time, which is nice. I have been to other facilities where you sit there and wait not knowing what is going on or what to expect. After the imaging was complete, I waited in the waiting are for 5-10 minutes while the technician burned my images to CD. When he completed that, he came out and brought the CD to me, and I was on my way. Overall a good experience, I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Front desk staff was polite. I was greeted immediately and given paperwork to fill out. Once I returned it I was called back within 15 mintues. I liked the water cooler in the lobby. The songrapher was friendly and we made small talk that made me feel more comfortable. They had me in and out in about 40 minutes. My doctor recommended an MRI to further troubleshoot my ongoing treatment. After looking up a handful of facilities near me, I chose Gateway because of their great cash prices and customer service with which my initial questions were addressed. I made an appointment for a weekday late morning and arrived early for paperwork. The waiting room is clean and comfortable, with three other people waiting ahead of me. NOTE: The sign in the waiting room says that wait time is based on the type of procedure you're having, not the time of arrival. Still, I would imagine that going during off-peak hours if possible would result in shorter wait times. I didn't have my lab order with me but the office staff was very helpful in calling my Dr. to obtain it with little delay to my appointment. After a reasonable wait after completing a few forms, it was my turn. Again the changing area is comfortable and convenient with lockers for belongings and a place to wait for the technician to take you back. Jamie was very sweet and did a great job explaining the whole procedure and putting me at ease (this was my first MRI). She offered me earplugs (which I accepted) and a blanket (declined). It took about 10 mins after the scan to burn the disc for me (which I requested, so was willing to wait). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely go back for future imaging needs. read more

I will not be returning to this facility in the future. I called and scheduled an X-ray and ultrasound of my leg, and there were only 2 times available for the following day. When I arrived early for a 3:15 appointment, it was packed with no seats available in the waiting room. The waiting room is small with minimal seating. The front desk area is large with a huge open window that amplifies the noise from front office workers. Combine that with the excessively loud tv in the waiting room and it's very annoying. The ultrasound tech was very professional, but forgot that I needed and X-ray too until I reminded her. A week later I needed a copy of my X-rays to bring to another dr, and called in the morning to request. The person on the phone asked if I wanted the ultrasound too, and I said 'sure'. She said the disk would be at the desk whenever I wanted to pick it up. I went by on my way home from work to pick up the disk, and it had not been prepared. I had to wait 10 minutes while they copied the disk. When I got to my car, I realized she had only copied the X-ray and not the ultrasound as well. There are too many good radiology facilities in town for me to go back here. I can't wait till the billing process starts. read more

As I walked in, I was asked why I was there. I told them I was there for follow up of 9 month of TB treatment for a followup chest xray. That I was a nurse. That I had never had symptoms of TB, but that I had merely had a positive PPD test. Immediately I was told that I had to wear a face mask. That was the most ignorant thing to be told. Obviously this clinic and its worker are not very knowledgeable about any illnesses and what is and is not contagious. At the first clinic I had my xrays at I was not treated like I had the plague, and if given the chance by my physician is where I would have returned for my follow up xrays. I will never return to this clinic and will not encourage anyone to go here either. Ignorance is more contagious than what I had. read more

Gateway Diagnostic Imaging has one of the best well run check-in for appointments set-up I have ever been to. It is a fast, efficient and user friendly paperwork. The staff from the front desk to the radiology tech are above other diagnostic places I have been. The tech specialist kept me informed every step of the way, what she was doing, what I would feel, etc. What a great experience from an excellent staff.
