Prior to my appointment, I had two separate appointment confirmation calls and I asked to confirm my patient responsibility, which I was told would be $154 after insurance approval. I reiterated this question each time to ensure the amount hadn't changed. Upon arrival, I paid the agreed-upon $154. However, I was shocked to receive a bill weeks later for an additional $700. Not once was I informed that the initial amount was an 'estimate.' Instead, I was assured it was what I would owe. Despite my efforts to clarify my financial responsibility, it seems that the office failed to verify with my insurance provider, which has a set price of $854 for services with Gateway Diagnostic Imaging Plano. Subsequent attempts to resolve the issue with the billing department proved fruitless and frustrating. Calls were met with unhelpful responses, and there was a blatant disregard for their own procedures, as evident from the lack of proper documentation regarding our conversations - a requirement, according to the location's manager. This lack of transparency and accountability is deeply concerning. I urge others to heed my warning and seek alternative imaging facilities. Despite my diligence in confirming costs beforehand, I was still misled and left with an unexpected bill. It's disheartening to see similar complaints surfacing, indicating a systemic issue within the organization. Having not had much experience with Imaging facilities I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it might be much like going to a doctor's appointment. I was pleasantly surprised. Just a couple of forms to complete, they had my doctor's orders, after turning in my forms I didn't wait more than 5 minutes in their nicely appointed lobby before I was called back for my x-rays. The x-ray technician was very personable, friendly and efficient. She checked the images before she let me leave and then she showed me out letting me know there was no need to check out at the front desk on my way out. This was WAY better than a trip to the doctor's office or any office for that matter and I've already referred multiple people to Gateway Imaging. It was such a positive experience that I've given my place of employment the contact information for Gateway in case any employees ever inquire about quality imaging center options. read more

As a person who has always hated going to the doctor and having procedures done (even though I've had a million), I've got to say, I was VERY impressed with the entire staff that I personally encountered here. I came in with a referral for a CT Scan. Everyone here took the time to explain everything from the time I set up the appointment right down to what the Technician was going to do (in detail). I wish I could remember his name. He made me completely comfortable and even helped lift me off the CT Scan table when I couldn't physically get up myself. What was even better was that they actually got me IN at the exact time they said they would. We all know how long you wait at a Dr or Specialists office typically. If your appointment is at 9:00 they MIGHT have you in by 9:30-10. Not here. My appointment was at 9:15 and that's exactly when they called me back. This place is wonderful and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! read more

Having undergone 5 back surgeries and several other medical procedures, I have now had 18 MRIs at various scan centers throughout the Dallas area. MRIs #16, #17 and #18 were recently conducted at Gateway (Plano location). I can truthfully say that my experience at Gateway was, by far, the best, most-professional, most-compassionate, most-comfortable I have ever had. Shannon, my tech, was super-sweet, attentive, and very attuned to my comfort and anxiety levels, knowing as she does that, no matter how many MRIs one has had, they can still be an anxiety-producing event. I'm a big guy, and fitting my shoulders inside the tube was a challenge. But Shannon went out of her way to proceed very slowly and gently to ensure that I suffered no pain, discomfort, or anxiety in the slightest. I simply could not rate Gateway more highly; they are the absolute BEST and I give them my highest recommendation. read more

I'm an Endodontist who went to my Physician for my yearly check-up. He noted that he heard something in my right carotid artery and gave me a referral to Gateway. I was more than upset, my heart and legs are the mainstay of my body. I had a little difficulty finding the office - do to all the new construction. The front desk was able to work me in without further loss to my work. That was big deal - I thought I would have to wait a week or two for a sonogram. I was taken in and given the sonogram on both arteries - one to be used as comparison. I was allowed to listen to the sounds and the procedure was painless. The only thing I would change to the procedure is to have the health care provider wear a mask with the rest of the PPE. I had to have an MRI of my left knee's blown out medial meniscus for the orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Chris Miller (THE best orthopedic surgeon I've ever known), who referred me to Gateway. A little bit of my background regarding my five-star score: I attended x-ray school so I could work my way through pre-med university classes as a registered radiological technologist. Therefore, I know X-Ray Techs and their work environment(s). I'm also a licensed chiropractor, since 1985, who had an x-ray unit in my office. Bottom line: Gateway is a five-star place! The front desk is friendly and efficient. The MRI tech was professional, attentive, and enjoyed what she did with excellence. I was quickly given a CD of my MRI so as to present it to Dr. Miller at the pre-surgery workup. read more

I can't say enough about Gateway Diagnostic Imaging. I live in NW Arkansas and had an appt at a back specialist, which is a 6 hour drive (one way) for us. The doctor required an "Emergency MRI", the nurse and office manager called different MRI labs and got an appt scheduled. Unfortunately it was for 6:30 pm (it was 1:00pm when this all began) and my husband & I were going to drive home the same day. As we were wasting time, I received a call from Gateway stating that they could get me in for an MRI @ 3:30 pm. I was thrilled! We went, signed in and was immediately taken back for the test. The day started with pain and a trip to my doctor followed by a referral for x-rays which was completely unexpected. I was sure I would get lost and more than sure that I would sit in a crowded lobby waiting to have the x-rays the doctor requested. Happily, my rotten mood was completely ruined by Gateway Diagnostic Imaging! It was really easy to find. As a matter of fact, I didn't even have to hang the u-turn my GPS insisted I needed to take! I have had several tests performed at Gateway and each time I never had to wait, I was in and out very quickly; I was treated very well and by all those I encountered. I have to say that the technicians were who surprised me the most. I am extremely claustrophobic and my technician literally held my hand until I get acclimated to my surroundings. I have had a number of tests at other places and I can say that I have never felt so cared for or my fears so taken care of. Was sent to this office for a CT scan which included an iodine injection. I never look forward to IVs since my veins are really hard to find. The Tech here was AMAZING!!! No issues getting the needle in. The Tech explained the entire process to me prior to starting and continue to updated me where we were all along the way. No guessing! The staff here was extremely kind and professional from the minute I walked in the door until I left. At the end of the process the Tech thanked ME for my cooperation! I came straight over from my doctor's office. They quickly had me registered and paperwork filled out. They up front warned that it might take about an hour to get an X-Ray, but it actually took much less time than that. The front office folks are super friendly, smiling and it really made my day to have these folks so up beat. The X-Ray Tech also was super friendly and very clear on instructions so he could get the X-Ray's needed. Very nice and pleasant to be around. I would recommend Gateway Imaging to anyone needing these types of services. The staff is friendly and helpful; calling me ahead of time to make sure I had the proper instructions for my scan. When I arrived they scanned my insurance card and my ID while I filled out minimal paperwork. I was taken back to the scan area by my Technician Jami (who by the way, is my daughter's name) and explained the procedure thoroughly in terms I could understand. I visited Gateway Plano for a CT Scan and an MRI to identify a possible cancerous mass. Every person from the office staff to technicians, treated me with professionalism. At the same time, they were personal, setting my mind at ease. They have nice changing rooms with comfortable gowns. They got the results to my doctor within hours. I have been to other imaging centers. None come close to this one! I was so pleased with their quality service. Friendly, clean environment. My ID cards were handed back in a short amount of time (sometimes places take so long that it makes me nervous). Did not wait long to have my CAT Scan done. The technician explained everything that would be done step by step which I found helpful to ease my nerves! For those people out there that do not know, if you have the same tests done at a hospital or a diagnostic place associated with a hospital, you charges will be much much higher! I had to get a CT scan and the facility recommended to me by my doctor was awful; the price topped $800 and I had to phone multiple times to even get a call back. As for getting my questions answered it wasn't much better. Frustrated, my wife found Gateway and they were fantastic. They answered all our questions the first time around and the price was nearly half the other facility. I highly recommend Gateway. The staff called me to make my appointment and obtain my insurance info, what a pleasant surprise! Arrived on Jan 8th for a CT scan & had to drink that terrible drink. The front desk girl was pleasant, understanding and encouraging as I tried to get all 64 ounces down in an hour. She empathized with me and made an unpleasant mandatory drink a little easier. Especially great for those on Medicare as Gateway is an approved Medicare assignment imaging site. Technicians and office staff are good at what they do. Glad I chose them over other imaging offices. Also, my doctor is able to see the CD results in his office because of an arrangement with Gateway. I've had several imaging services done here. Postives: they accept insurance, their radiologist are employees (so no surprise radiology bills), and their services are professional. I love that they are a one stop shop. It puts me at ease that the price tag is WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get. ) All my services have been done during covid, but I've had no issues or reservations about compliance with guidelines. Overall VERY satisfied. Negatives: none in my experience. read more
