Stopped here to kill time before going to the Headless Horseman haunted event. Waitress was terrible. Had to ask for things numerous times. She didn't even bring extra napkins after asking twice. I used the same napkin through my whole meal. I slurped my water loud to hint my cup was empty & she didn't even come to my table. She could care less. She was very unfriendly! I came here w/ my cousin. She ordered a chicken panini & I ordered the sampler as a meal. It came w/ cheddar bacon potato skins, chicken wings/fingers,& zucchini/mozzarella sticks. It was supposed to come w/ fried pickles but it wasn't on my plate. My cousin's panini came w/ French fries, pickles,& coke slaw. She hates cole slaw so she gave it to me. The cole slaw was the best thing I ate. Chicken wings & potato skins were so dry. I think they were old. The mozzarella sticks weren't cooked enough. Overall, my food was disgusting & gave me a stomach ache afterwards. My cousin's panini was overly dry. I will never come back here. The only thing that was cool was it had a jukebox on each booth.

Classic diner with overworked staff. Waited a while for someone to acknowledge us once we sat down. Then when we got our food we didn't get silverware for a couple of minutes so my omelette was kinda lukewarm. No refills on drinks. Final word: the yummy looking stuffed French toast was stuffed with cream cheese with bits of strawberry in it. Not sweetened--just cream cheese. Ick.

    This place made me sick.

We used to eat there after the gay disco up the street closed. The club was Prime Time. This was in the early 1980s. It looks like the place went downhill, and they're still using the same batch of oil they used back in 1983. It looks like they need a visit from Gordon Ramsay.

Stopped by this hidden jewel while making my way back home from spending the day at Woodbury Premium Outlet. This place is amazing, pulling up into the parking lot; you would think you are taking a step back into time. Going through the doors, you will find a beautiful well-kept piece of classic American dining. You are greeted by friendly smiling faces, a huge glass case of delicious cakes and pies that make you want to skip the main meal, and just dive into a big slice of YUMMY. I chose to sit at the counter top and ordered a burger, basket of fries and a coke, to which I was not disappointed. The food came quick, the burger was super-hot and juicy, and the fries were nice and crispy. It was so hot and delicious; I ended up burning the roof of my mouth and I didn't mind one but. My server was super friendly, and kept coming and checking on me, always keeping my coke full. After wolfing down the plate of Heavenly awesomeness, I was so full, but that glass case of desserts that greeted me when I came in, kept calling my name. I ordered the Strawberry Cheese cake and it was so good. It was soft, not overly sweet, and was generously loaded with strawberries. If there was anything that I could add, it would be the cleanliness of the bathroom. It might have been bad timing as I was coming at the tail end of the day and it hadn't be taken care of, but the bathroom could use a little cleaning up. There was no soap to wash my hands. It's places like this, that makes road trips so fun. All I can say to the great staff at the Getaway Dinner is, Thank you, for all that you do.

MOLD IN FOOD!! We were given a moldy quesadilla and the cook said maybe blue cheese had fallen into it. We are blue cheese fans and this was definitely not blue cheese. It stunk something terrible. It definitely WAS mold!

The place is dirty and dingy. The table was sticky and my creamers were served in a dirty bowl. The food was pretty bad too.

We both wanted the home fries extra crispy. My sister checked in to see if they were made with onions. We were told that they were not so we went for it. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I have allergies to alliums so we made the point to let our waiter, Matt know. He was quite alert, and I believe made an effort to make sure that he communicated my allergy to the kitchen. It did not take long for our order to come out and it was stunning and massive. See the photograph. Unfortunately, my sister noted almost immediately that there was onion on the plate. How disappointing because it looked so good. We flagged down Matt to let him know. He was very apologetic and swept the plate away back to the kitchen returning a few minutes later to let me know that the hashbrowns were not an option. We replace those with french fries. Overall, the plate was returned about 10 minutes later and looked free of onions. The eggs were cooked the way we asked, and the french fries were crispy, although they appear to have been tossed in cornstarch or flour to make them crispy - that's a coating which I'm not fond of. All in all, the eggs were delicious and the portion size could have fed three people. We ordered a couple of desserts to take away. Grand total was about $50. Yikes. Add the tip and you're up to $65 for breakfast. I recognized that this was a fancier breakfast and not eggs over very easy, etc. but $50 for two breakfast and two desserts two beverages. That's a lot. Even at the price of groceries these days, $65 still goes a long way in the breakfast category. The ambience is classic diner and very clean the service was quite attentive, friendly, and professional although we did have to flag Matt down a couple of times. I don't think he was distracted, I think it was more his workflow. The loss of the star is because I was served something I was allergic to. That's not really excusable, but they did apologize. I am convinced that he advised the kitchen of my allergy but before finalizing my order, a trip to the kitchen to verify about whether onions or garlic was in any of the food would have been appreciated

The decor, from the booths to the lampshades, seem like they haven't changed in decades and are in excellent condition. The tables have tops that have obviously been replaced at some point, as they aren't the expected laminate, but otherwise it's like going back in time. We were looking for a traditional breakfast place open on a weekday (rather than a bagel shop or a place that only sells breakfast sandwiches), and this fit the bill. Service was efficient and attentive. They have a large array of menu items, but we both chose to get the breakfast burrito, without the meat. There was a bit too much potato inside for our taste, but others may prefer it that way. The side of salsa that came with it was delicious and made up for any lack of seasoning when we removed the salty meat. We would return when looking for a traditional diner with a large variety of choices.

The diner has a nice retro feel and was very clean. We ordered the Eveready breakfast with three fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with two farm fresh eggs, two strips bacon and two sausages, a feta and spinach omelette, and two coffees. I asked for the omelette to be made with egg whites but received a regular omelette instead, which was fine--it was still really good. Everything was delicious, but the fluffy pancakes with strawberry butter were definitely the highlight. We all loved them! The coffee was good as well. Today was a different experience; altogether! Some of the booths need to be reupholstered, the menus are starting to come apart, the waiter we had, could barely get the orders straight and to the table in a timely manner. It was if we were in a Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares episode and didn't know it. Pastrami could've been used as roof shingles, it was that hard. My order was supposed to come with potato salad and he brought macaroni. Duh. My friend ordered the pastrami with lettuce and tomato on the side. They put hot pastrami on top of a cooked tomato and no lettuce. Double Duh! Another friend of mine had the sliders. Yeah, they could slide just like a hockey puck can slide. They were just as hard and tough as a hockey puck. The Cole slaw looks like someone put it through a mixmaster. It had the consistency of sawdust; you couldn't make out the coleslaw from anything else that was in it. It looks like they're riding on their long existence and the Guy Fieri visit from DDD to bring in the diners. Come to think of it, it was odd that it was the dinner hour, and the place was practically empty. Doubt we'll be back.

Glad I did.) Although I only had the souvlaki the first time, I noted friendly and attentive service by all, including the manager. The food came out fairly quickly given that I arrived during the peak lunch hour. The pita was the best pita I have ever eaten. The fries were up there with the best fries I have ever eaten. There was plenty of food for my money overall, and it was memorably delicious. So for this update, I finally went in for a full meal. I can offer the following updates: * I went during the dinner peak this time (I should say: just after a Hudson Valley Renegades game across the river), and service was MUCH slower to attend to us. Now, to be fair, I arrived with one person and we were waiting on a third, so I didn't expect them to rush to take or order until the third person arrived... but at least bring us water? Took like 15 minutes for that. * Shrimp pasta was delicious. But if you're smothering shrimp in sauce, please de-shell? Otherwise serve them on the side so I can do that myself. Annoying to have to sift through the sauce and clean my hands. * They did sub in pasta of my choice. * Carrot soup was OK, nothing special but it was the soup of the day vs. just a plain salad for my veggies. Desserts were on display but I was stuffed. Again, you will get plenty of food here. But try not to come at the same time as /everyone/ else.
