I was long overdue for a dental appointment and finally took the steps to look up a dentist in my area covered by my insurance, Delta Dental. Through their site I was able to head over to their Yelp page and see what others were saying about their experience. I loved that this location was close to my home and saw that most reviews were very positive. I was able to get an appointment easily and within a week of when contacted them and they were ready for me right at my appointment time. I thought the staff was friendly, professional and took great care of me and my mouth. I had to get some x-rays done and while the process wasn't the most comfortable with the devices you need to bite on, they did their best to make it an east process. The dentist talked me through what she was seeing with my teeth and while she didn't know my history, since I'm a new patient she was great at explaining what she saw, what I needed done and what I could change in my daily routine to see the best results with my teeth. Unfortunately, I think I learned that I grind my teeth in my sleep. Not great, but I'll be back soon for some appointments to fix my teeth a bit and I'm planning on having this be my regular dentist for the foreseeable future. read more

From the moment I reached out to Gateways Oaks Dental, I was welcomed with genuine care. Everyone there took amazing care of me, and I've been a patient since 2015, when Dr. Truong first did a root canal for me. I actually went halfway through the procedure without any numbing since I hate how numbing shots make me feel. I scared Dr. Truong a bit, and she gently insisted I get just a little to help with the pain. She talked me through the whole thing with so much patience and understanding. I also want to thank Huan for always taking care of me when it comes to insurance and treatment plans. He's always been supportive and clear. When I came back to Dr. Truong in 2022 for a check-up, I needed more work done but I was scared to go through with it, and unfortunately that made things worse. I finally returned in June and July 2025 for another root canal, and I almost backed out again. But Dr. Truong personally called me and talked me through everything. She had this comforting, almost motherly instinct, and I'll forever be grateful. Honestly, I was so desperate I had even bought a tool to try to pull the tooth myself. But she made me feel safe, understood, and in good hands. We now joke: "Not too much numbing just a little!" She's truly amazing. And her assistant Rene was just as incredible. They both made my long 3-4 hour treatments feel seamless and easy. I couldn't be happier that Dr. Truong saved my teeth. It feels so good to love my smile again. My husband has been a patient for several years now and paid out of pocket due to not having dental insurance. We were both students and have recently started our first careers. While we did not want to write a negative review, unfortunately, our recent interactions with this dental business have brought to light their dishonest and exploitive business practices. My husband had enrolled in dental insurance sponsored by his employer. When he went to his routine cleaning last week, he was told that they would run his insurance to ensure his insurance would cover the cleaning and X-ray fees. They charged him a "special package" that included two cleanings and x-rays as he obtained his cleaning and only after charging him, informed him that his insurance was not accepted by the office. They charged him $573, which is a large amount for a couple who have recently started their first careers. When he asked to pay only for the first cleaning and x-rays and get reimbursed for the second cleaning in the package, they declined, stating it was part of their "contract" and they could not reimburse him. A few days later, he went back to the office to re-discuss this bill and seek a refund for his second cleaning. They generated a bill of approximately $500 for the X-rays alone and stated they could reimburse him but it would only save him $12. Of course, it's difficult to identify how much x-rays cost from office to office. However, I imagine that the price they quoted him was inflated. Per Aflac, a routine bitewing x-ray costs $52 to $102. A prior reviewer stated that this business is profit-driven, which based on this interaction, I would agree with. It is unscrupulous to take advantage of someone and tell them they would run their insurance but charge them before verifying whether insurance would be accepted or not. It would be pure speculation, but I wonder if this business already knew my husband's insurance would not be accepted but chose to charge him anyways, allow him to get the cleaning, and inform him afterwards that his cleanings and X-ray would not be covered, as he would be unable to recuperate that money. I hope other people see this review. It is unethical to take advantage of someone in the way that they did. read more

This was my 2nd time visiting Gateway Oaks Dental and it was just as pleasant as the first time. This time I received fillings and had a wisdom tooth extraction. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Troung is detail oriented and makes sure everything is done correctly step by step. During the visit she had a trainee dental assistant help her. She guided her assistant as well as coached her on how to speed up certain processes to enhance her efficiency. I did not mind the trainee, she was great as well.
