The first time I went to Gateway, it was for the fabled secret sub announced on an Instagram reel. I got to meet Morgan, the fun gentleman from the reel with Anna. Morgan happened to be in the shop I selected. Very random and very fun! Plus, secretly delicious! (I learned later, Morgan also happens to be a very approachable and enthusiastic co-founder and co-owner). We've been back many times. Recently was a special day, April 20, and they had a 4:20 special, a sub for only $4.20! We had to go! We were excited! We were nervous! Would the 4:20 line be insane? Would the workers be frazzled? No and No. Everyone was well organized, cranking out custom delicious subs and salads. Chatting with customers. Enjoying sub life! And... Who sliced the meat for our 4:20 subs? Morgan!? Hello again! We recognized each other and chatted a bit. Sub life is still good! Liz rang up my order and was very helpful and gracious. Plus, she had a way cool alien t-shirt on. A real alien, not the movie! Gotta love it! Today, we went for the latest special, the 7.27! Matt and Randy provided professional, friendly, patient and helpful service. They really kept everything moving, worked together well, and somehow found time to keep everyone there informed of where their subs were in the process. Ordered a tuna sandwich on a spinach wrap on 4/20 for $4.20. I advocate for shopping local on most things and subs are no different. I do love my Publix subs but their subs are sooo good too. Meatball Mondays! Bison meatballs in marinara is a move. It's not your typical meatball sub. It's got quite a bit of favor and the bison stands out. Both people at the counter were friendly and helpful. I always go extra cheese, extra sauce and they supplied! The fourth street location isn't a place I would sit to eat but perfect for takeaway. Tried this spot for the first time yesterday and it was great! The bread was super fresh and the staff was attentive as soon as we walked in to retrieve our pick up order. The one negative was that they only offer two types of cheese - Swiss and Provolone. read more

I Tried for this place for the first time today and I really enjoyed it. I just got the basic turkey sub on wheat but it was so good!!! Absolutely phenomenal subs! The cold brew coffee is a game changer. I don't drink any other coffee anymore. I also buy the whole coffee beans from them! As they have a roaster at the location on 3rd Ave. The breakfast bagel named 'Fully loaded' blew my mind, all of the good stuff and I was able to get a cold brew as apart of their breakfast meal deal. Such a pleasant surprise! My family actually went to a more popular place that I've been to several times for lunch but it was SO busy and chaotic. We Yelped Gateway and found it to be even better! The staff was super friendly & helpful, the service was very fast, and the sandwiches were wonderful! I had the Italian Roast Beef and found the bread to be extremely fresh and the toppings were great! My companion and I were out running errands and decided a gateway sub would be worth the try. We were close to the Gateway located on 3rd Ave and headed over. Please be aware that while the address in Yelp is correct the directions were incorrect putting us a couple blocks away. (We believe that to be a yelp issue) The restaurant is a counter order with places to sit and eat. They apparently have weekly and possibly daily specials, but we decided to go with the ultimate Italian because it is a classic. The two of us split the sandwich and it was more than enough. The sandwich had plenty of salami, pepperoni, hot, capicola, ham, and green fixings. I did not say no to any of the toppings. The sandwich could be tailored to anyway you'd like and you can leave off or add anything you want. The sandwich was very good and you can see why they have three locations. It was a little after lunchtime on a Friday and it was not overly busy. It looks like they have seating for quite a number of people. Randy, Eric, and Brad were great, kind and gave us recommendations on which sandwiches to order. I got the cool ranch rider and my husband got the sweet chili sandwich, which is like the Cool Ranch riders "little brother" as they said. Both sandwiches came with crushed up Doritos on the sandwich that transported you back to your childhood. In addition, it had a yummy sweet, yet tangy sauce to make the sandwich explode in your mouth with delightfulness. The sandwiches came with a lot of nostalgia that I believe you will enjoy.
