The food was good. I wish they had pressed it longer. Cheese not melted and cold in the middle. But the bean soup was absolutely amazing. Service was good.

    Cuban Sandwich?

I'm sorry but this was the Fyre Festival of Cuban sandwiches. I'm genuinely confused how this is even being advertised as a Cuban sandwich. It was basically grocery store lunch meat, a pickle or two, and a tiny slice of Swiss cheese pressed between bread. No pernil/roast pork in sight. Zero flavor. As a Latina, I found this beyond disappointing.

Great Cuban...Rice and beans were kind of average....You get and extra piece of bread too with the beans/rice...[[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside seating is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Excellent spot for Cuban sandwiches and black beans & rice! Conveniently located near many area attractions and easy to get in and out of. Service is friendly and fast, what more could you ask for? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super casual atmosphere with a few places to sit inside but the majority of seating is situated outside under the awning...just don't feed the birds and you'll be fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They hold quite a few of the "Best of" awards for the Tampa area...I would say rightly so!

If you're looking for the best Cuban sandwich in the Tampa/St. Pete area, look no further -- The Floridian is it. There's a reason this place has the reputation it does, and after trying it ourselves, we can 100% confirm it lives up to the hype. The sandwich is perfection: fresh bread with just the right crunch, layers of flavorful meat, melty cheese, and that perfect balance of pickles and mustard that makes a Cuban what it should be. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this shop stands out above the rest. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of that, it's got that cozy, local-dive charm that makes you feel like you've stumbled on a true hidden gem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No frills, just phenomenal food made with care. If you're in St. Pete or Tampa and don't stop here, you're missing out. The Floridian isn't just good -- it's the gold standard for Cuban sandwiches!

Great local spot for Cuban sandwiches. Soup is tasty as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dine inside, on patio or carryout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super casual and chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked over in swimsuit covers and flip flops. Super reasonable, good quality, staff friendly.

In town to visit family and my brother found this Cuban Sandwich restaurant to try. We placed our order at the counter and took our beers to the outdoor patio. Our food was delivered quickly and did not last long. The sandwiches were awesome. All in $35

Thanks to Yelp, I found a great place for a Cuban. Got my food to go and sat on the nearby beach. Though there are places to sit, a few inside and tables and chairs outside. Still craving that sandwich! The bread was excellent, too.

For a sub shop on the beach, this place was so good! We stopped in after a long beach day cuz we heard this place was the shit! So ofc we had to go see for ourselves. I got a 12in Cuban classic, and Kevin got a spiced pork sandwich. The Cuban was the better of the two in both of our opinions. The mustard and pickles were perfect for a little tangy taste. The buttered bread was just crispy enough but not overdone, perfect. We got draft beers to enjoy our sandwiches with. So fucking good. Definitely coming back here before we fly out on Thursday. We wanted to try the recommended Cuban sandwiches here so we did! The beans and rice were my favorite item on the menu. The sandwiches were crunchy, somewhat pressed and fresh but not the best we've had. The spicy pork sandwich was short on pork and even shorter on spice. The folks were nice and it was clean but I don't think we'll be back for Cubans. We much prefer Bodega! We've not had much luck with restaurants on the beach. How about you? Life is good when you try a local spot!

That said, I can appreciate that with a team of just two people, they're clearly focused on maintaining quality over quantity. The space itself is absolutely adorable and very thoughtfully curated. During our visit, I realized the owners seemed familiar, and after chatting with them, learned they were behind a few other local restaurants I've enjoyed over the years. Small world! The restaurant is very small with limited seating, but that appears to be intentional and fits the concept. The wine selection was enjoyable, and I really loved the overall idea and atmosphere they've created. When it gets busy, it's easy to see how challenging it can be for a two-person team to balance service and hospitality while keeping everything running smoothly. Even so, the effort, passion, and attention to detail are obvious. Overall, a wonderful addition to the area. 10/10--we'll definitely be back and hopefully snag one of those sandwiches next time!

It's clean, open, friendly, creative, small, fresh and delicious. The locals definitely know about it and were fun to chat with. The couple running it, Jen and Zach, are engaging, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun! Everything is prepared in house with a focus on quality, the quality bread is imported from Miami, the portions are plentiful and the tastes are well balanced and delicious! Please note, seating is quite limited, so we (Peter N and I) made sure we arrived first, before they opened at 11am. I can't say what your odds are of getting a seat but I'd suggest being flexible and enjoy! I won't describe my meal in detail since you won't be able to duplicate it! Remember, the menu changes! It's soup, salads, sandwiches and a variety of apps. Suffice to say... yum! Life is good with a local, unique spot that delivers all the good things!

They had a fresh catch of grouper that day, so we decided to try the grouper nuggets. They're market price, but absolutely worth it. Even our friend preferred them over his fried fish. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. Our kids ordered the bacon cheese fries and loved them. Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. They use a beer batter, which wasn't our favorite, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Overall, we'd definitely return if we're in the area again. The only downside was parking--$29.99 for two hours is pretty brutal. Thankfully, the food and atmosphere helped make up for it.

PARENT'S WEEKEND ADVENTURE!!!…read more Let me start with we have had the pizza and calzones from this place with the kids and the food was Awesome!!! Check out my 1st review for details!!! This time we got to sit down and have a truly enjoyable Adult Italian Dinner!!! The Ambiance/Decor is old world Italian style and very comfortable. It takes you somewhere that makes you feel like the beach isn't less than a mile away. We love it!!! Oh my word the Food was so flavorful and worth every penny!!! Food to Value ration: WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Yes I said it twice, lol!!! We ordered a reserve Chianti and Wifey LOVED IT!!! As an app, we got the Eggplant Rollatini and it did not disappoint. It was ooey gooey Great!!! We both upgraded to the Caesar Salad and I'm not sure how the house salad would have been, but the 2$ up charge was well worth it. Tasted way better than most Cesar salads at other establishments. We ordered our entrees from the Chef's Specialty menu. Wifey got the short rib ravioli. Portion size was good and taste was so fresh they tasted like they were made fresh when ordered!!! I got the Salmon dish and holy succulent Salmon. Cooked to perfection!!! The brandy risotto w/asparagus was a nice complement to the Salmon. We were so full we didn't even have desert, but we cannot wait to try the house made tiramisu next time!!! If you get the chance to try this place. Do yourselves a favor and stop in. We will always make this place a stop on our visits to the area!!! AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!
