Stopped in to grab some drinks as it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves inside, and honestly wasn't that impressed, mostly because we never got our drinks. After standing at the bar for five minutes with the bartender ignoring us we decided to grab a table. A waitress did seat us with menus, however never came back to take an order. This restaurant was one of my favorite and reliable for consistent and delicious food in Richmond. Their artichoke and spinach dip was so good. They had many salads especially their wedge was exceptional. Then, their fried shrimp and oysters as well as their fried flounder were as good if not better than the great seafood I get on the SC coast. I went on vacation to come back to the worst new menu you can imagine. Not one of the items I mentioned above is still offered. They have lost my business, and I would not recommend going. Whomever manages this restaurant and the chef need to rethink what they have done. read more

First off. The octopus app was fantastic, it was perfectly cooked and the arugula salad and charred lemon, perfect accompaniments. Also got the Caesar salad with chicken, to go, and it was delightful. However, the bartender was extremely emotionally and visibly distressed. Which made us feel uncomfortable and prompted us to get our salad to go. 2 drinks, one app, and a salad to go. $60 and took 45 mins. We offered some positive energy to the bartender (who was crying at the POS) and she scoffed, rolled her eyes, and continued to panic and act manic. I'm in the industry too, but this seemed more personal than managerial... and very unprofessional. tLdr: apps are great if you have Hilton rewards, go to literally any other bar in the .5 mile radius. read more

Our second stay at the lovely Hilton Richmond Downtown and we enjoyed again visiting Gather and Hem. Cute lounge/restaurant with a great decor and vibe. Teddy was a friendly and skilled server and was able to recite their extensive list of bourbons from memory. He took very good care of us, as did Emily, the supervisor. This is a great upscale chill spot! The food is tasty! Be warned, though. They are small plate appetizers, so plan ahead. I had the Fresno cocktail with Elijah Craig which was lightweight and refreshing. The Brussel sprouts are charred to perfection with a sweet sauce drizzled throughout. We also had the lamb chops, scallops (3 per plate), sliders (burgers with lobster add-on), and shrimp. All of these are a win. But the best part was our server, Daijia, who was attentive and on on it! She was the best! It is pricey but worth it! read more
