We had a delightful meal here late on a on a Saturday afternoon on the deck. Our server; Poone, was very friendly and helpful with managing my wife's gluten free dining requirements. The cauliflower crust pizza was amazing as was the organic greens salad with olives, goat cheese, calamari and chorizo. We sat on the deck and watch the boat traffic on the canal. Gather quickly became a favorite three years ago while visiting the Westin next door. The food is absolutely amazing, fresh and uniquely delicious! We visit every time we come to Cape Coral. Not commenting on food as we did not try it. But we went there three mornings while we were staying next door at the hotel. Each time the table was dirty - had been cleared off but not wiped, so we had to ask for it to be wiped. Minor stuff. Friendly wait staff. They don't rush you out. Coffee was good according to my husband. However, I ordered the Chai Tea Latte each morning and each morning I got something different. All were quite good but not consistent. I liked the tea from the 2nd morning the best and since it was a different person making it I could not quite explain it. One had foam, one just had steamed milk, one came with a tea bag (I asked for a Chai Latte and got a chai tea bag in water...I sent it back and asked for foam and got something else). This restaurant was attached to the hotel where we were staying, reviews were both good and bad. My wife and I had breakfast, service was lacking, not attentive at all. Didn't tell us they had breakfast specials. My food a breakfast burrito was just ok, nothing special. Overall not a great spot, convenient yes but food and service below par. read more

Went for dinner on a Sunday night we had 4 adults and 2 children. Service was great and food was fantastic! Empanadas, sea bass, Paella and soup. All were delicious and delivered quickly. This is such a cute place! The decor inside is unique and well done, you can tell the owners have put care into this place. This is a good spot if you are out of town and want a place to remember and relax. The food is on the higher side, but every dish we received was hand crafted and well put together. Slow season? Not for us. We did have lovely food today. Scottish salmon tartine (it was toast w salmon) and fettuccine w seafood. Wine was Albariño. My wife found this place online. As new residents in the Cape we are searching all the local restaurants and came across gather. Casual dining on the waterfront with a great breakfast. Holly had the breakfast burrito and I had the corn beef and potato hash. Both were excellent and we will be back many times. Come to paradise. You will never want to leave. read more

If you are looking for a quiet place to have dinner with friends this is not the place. When we visited on Saturday night we found it to be extremely noisy. The conversation around us was overwhelming. Then a musician started playing very loudly making it almost impossible to hear the person sitting next to you. We went here to celebrate an Anniversary during restaurant week, you'd expect the best foot forward for this week. The first course was great, but after we started enjoying it our entree arrived! Needles to say we sent it back. Then when we were ready they brought out our entree dry and barely warm! All around phenomenal restaurant. Stayed at the Westin for the weekend and were disappointed by their restaurant Marker 92. So glad we stumbled upon this little gem within walking distance of the resort. Ended up enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner today. Food is perfectly executed for each meal. For breakfast we enjoyed the smoked salmon tartine and my wife had the breakfast burrito. For lunch i had the gather salad with grilled chicken and my wife had beef empanadas and meatball sliders. For dinner we started with the tuna tataki which was perfectly prepared with beautiful micro cilantro and a yummy Asian style slaw. We shared the pulled pork Mac and cheese and the scallops almondine. The Mac and cheese was very well balanced with wonderful flavor from the pork and the scallops were seared to perfection with deliciously charred califlower while sitting on a bed of sweet/savory parsnip purée. Finished dessert with one of the best crème brûlées we have ever had paired with an espresso martini very well curated by the bartender. The views of the marina with the sunset at dinner were absolutely stunning. Staff and service were friendly and efficient. Would absolutely recommend this location, hands down one of the best restaurants in Florida. Thank you Gather for putting so much love into the food, it has not gone unnoticed by us. read more

Went on a Wednesday night, waited 40 minutes to get a table. Great views, you can sit outside right on the cape. Service wasn't very good, drinks and appetizers took 30 mins+. We ordered the risotto and the omg burger - the burger was okay, nothing special. I've eaten risotto at a couple of places, this was not very good. Very little seasoning. I was staying at the Westin Cape Coral and I asked the hotel to recommend a few places. I was excited to hear when they recommended a place basically on the property that is dubbed "a locally owned eatery" as I prefer to shop/eat local. The place was small and not overly busy but yet our waitress seemed like she was either distracted or just didn't care. This meant our food took awhile to get to our table, which was a little irritating considering they weren't that busy. We ordered the meatball appetizer to start and although they were decently flavored they weren't particularly warm which was disappointing especially when they are served in a cast iron skillet. We then ordered the duck wings which were much better and had great flavor. For our entrees we both ordered steaks which were cooked to the right temperature and tasted good but honestly for the price I could have gone somewhere else and received the same quality with a better experience. Normally great food and great service. Attempted to order carry out last evening. I was put on hold for over 10 minute. I was close by so i walked over, still on hold now for 10 minutes, and walked in to the restaraunt to place my phone in order in person. Was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I asked if i could speak to the manager when i came back for my pickup. Returned , with no manager to sleak to. The bartender screeched from behind the bar who i placed my order with, like that's my responsibility. I replied i am the guy who had to walk in his phIne in order. Gather is a great spot. I came in after spending an afternoon on the beach, it was the perfect spot to refuel for my two hour drive back to St. Pete. I had the Oh My Gather burger and one cocktail, The Implication. The burger was cooked to perfection, medium (as requested) and juicy. The fries were nice and crisp and were served with an amazing sriracha ketchup. The cocktail was well made and balanced. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and well trained. The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated. As a bartender, I was especially impressed with the cocktail menu (both the cocktail specs and the menu design itself. Really top notch stuff). Special shout outs to Brittany, my server, and Curt, the bartender. I'll absolutely be back next time I make it down to Ft Myers/Cape Coral. read more

We tried a few places in Cape Coral and non were even close to measuring up to Gather. We did not visit their sister restaurant, Fathom. Friendly staff, great decor, outside sitting. It has it all. Great empanadas. I was not that hungry so that was what I ordered as my meal. They were pretty small and came in a little bowl. The sauce had a little heat to it which I liked. It was smaller than expected, but it was advertised as an appetizer. They could serve two or three hand sized ones as a meal and I would order every time. My sister got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fantastic, the waffles were average waffles. To elevate that dish, they could've had a slightly spicy syrup or done something special to the waffle. Enjoyed this place. read more

My wife and I were staying at the Westin Cape Coral for about a week. It's right next door. We ate at at The Gather twice. Unlike another earlier review we found the tables clean, the service very friendly and prompt, and the menu excellent. We were checking out the menu outside next to the entrance the day before we actually ate here when a group of three women walked in and said, "there's nothing bad on the menu." They were right. With an intriguing menu it didn't live up to expectations. Very noisy chatter with music to boot. Cauliflower crust pizza was good...not great. Companion and I shared and it was plenty. The paella was, sorry to say, sad. Served to both with no plates or utensils. Ate very little and server never inquired why so much was left.
