This is it-I found my forever salon. When I first moved to Bend I was super nervous about changing hairstylists, plus I wanted to try shaggy bangs for the first time. I'm so glad I booked my haircut at Gather! Not only is it a lively, welcoming, non-pretentious place (sometimes hard to find in the good salon world) but I honestly feel like I could get my hair done by any stylist in there and walk out with something I love. I've had cuts done by both Violet and Stephanie H. (both absolute rock stars) and I have never gotten this many compliments on my hair in my life! They really understand hair there. (I have wavy hair and only air dry now and I swear it looks better than when I used to heat style.) Janelle in reception is also fabulous and super helpful. The prices here are very reasonable for the excellent service they provide. I have no idea how well they cut hair. They never responded to my Yelp request for an appointment. I could not get through on the phone. I tried repeatedly but just got a recording about how their voicemail has not been set up so I couldn't leave a message. There is literally no way to contact them. I guess they don't need new clientele. I really don't understand how businesses can operate in this manner. read more

Erin is absolutely lovely. Very consultative, knowledgeable and kind. Took the time to really understand my goals for my hair and current challenges and taught me things throughout the entire appointment. One piece in particular I appreciated is that when I mentioned feeling whatever/okay about my hair she literally sat down and asked what my dream hair would be and stated she didn't want me to just feel "okay" after our appointment was over. I had a wonderful experience with Audrey. I haven't had my hair cut since pre-COVID, so I was in real need of a good haircut and Audrey totally delivered. I appreciated how gentle Audrey was with my hair, which is on the finer side. She also responded very thoughtfully to alllll of my questions about how to make my hair look put-together with minimal effort. She took her time and showed me an easy way to curl my hair, which I'm definitely going to try. The salon itself is also great, lots of natural light and great design. The receptionist was also super friendly. I am happy to have found a hair stylist who is not only a joy to chat with but who also makes my hair look and feel fantastic. I found Erin when I moved to Bend earlier this year. She does a great job and I always trust her to do whatever she recommends. I see her about every four weeks for root touch ups. She always goes above and beyond and is great about educating me on new products and techniques that work best for my hair. So thankful for her talents and professionalism. She really has a passion for hair and she's never steered me wrong in the 15+ years of doing my hair. Erin did my hair - which was my first experience since COVID. My hair was wild and at least six months without anyone touching it, but Erin and the gals at Gather made me feel great. I enjoyed the relaxing shampoo, socialization and fabulous blow out! They gave me plenty of beauty tips and things I can do at home. I moved to Bend recently and hadn't had my hair cut for 6+ months due to covid restrictions, so when I found Erin at Gather it was a relief all around. I have very thick hair and have had some bad experiences getting it layered and cut over the years when trying to find new salons so I'm very particular with who I let cut it. Erin has so much expertise and skill, and she took time to ask me questions to understand what I wanted and listened empathically to my answers and requests. I live in Vancouver, Wa and happily make the drive over to Bend every time I need to have my hair done. Erin is the most amazing, knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and kind stylists I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I severely messed up my hair while attempting to bleach it. I made a super last minute appointment this morning to get it fixed and it turns out the booking system they used decided to double book the stylist I requested and she wasn't able to get me in. Instead of sending me away, another stylist, Kristi, offered to fix my hair as best as she could while doing another clients hair. I fully expected it to not be much and to just be the bare minimum since they took me in on such short notice but I am so impressed with the results and by how kind Kristi was to do my hair and another clients at the same time. My hair looks incredible after me almost completely destroying it with bleach. I couldn't recommend these ladies more. I got my hair cut yesterday by Joel and it was the BEST experience!! I have curly hair and haven't gotten it professionally done in almost two years.
