We started with the pork buns and brussel sprouts, then had the fried chicken and the truffle pasta. All of it was out of this world. Especially the truffle pasta. If you are going during covid season must know you need a reservation as they are seating half capacity. While you are here you will read a fancy, small menu, that will be hard to pick from due to lack of options and fancy words no one uses unless you are a chef. While our food was good, we complain about the portion size for the price of the meal. You will pay well over $100 for two adults for meals and a few drinks and still be hungry when leaving. read more

We walked by this place on the way to a brewery the other day and thought it look like the perfect place for an anniversary dinner before we left back home. We made a reservation for early in the evening, however when we came in and sat at the bar that's where we end up staying for the entire dinner. Staff are friendly and more than accommodating with our change in seating arrangements, they gave us a happy hour menu and we proceed from there brussels sprouts peppers cheese anything you get asked for was fantastic and five out of five stars I don't know who is in the back making all of these delicious items but kudos to him or her. The bar staff was accommodating my wife likes a sour not sweet margarita and they made it to her liking, which is very hard to do!. We ended the night splitting a hamburger and fries that was just delicious. This will be our go to place every time we come back! read more

My husband and our 4 year old daughter tried to eat here this evening. We were put on a wait list at 9:16 pm, which was confirmed via text. Despite clearly being able to notify me, my family returned to the restaurant at 9:50 to inquire if the wait would be longer. The completely rude and unapologetic hostess let us know that they stopped seating and could no longer take us. To make it worse, no other restaurants could take us either. Place looks nice, but completely irresponsible in not notifying us to stop waiting. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly rude the hostess was. read more

Gather was an experience so wonderfully surprising that to describe it in words seems impossible. The amount of care and creativity given each dish was beyond perfection. Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted intimately in a small room by a hostess who kindly takes your name and ushers you to your table. When you walk through the curtains into the dining room the atmosphere changes to a warm and friendly air that breeds comfort. When you take your seat you are greeted by you waiter/ress and the real amazement begins. We started with water (which was filled so frequently I never met the bottom of my glass) and ordered some hot beverages to combat the winter chill we encountered outside. We ordered the Grilled Spanish Octopus to start and were blown away by the depth and intricacies of flavor in each bite. The soft couscous was a wonderful bed for the octopus which was perfectly crisp on the outside and perfectly meaty on the inside. As for the Entrée I ordered the Beef Lengua and it was the best decision I've made at a restaurant in this town. It was by far the best tongue I've had. I had expected a Latin flavor and was surprised by a complexity of American tastes. From the smoky barbecue taste of the tongue itself to the creamy parsnip purée and the crunch of the red cabbage chips, this dish had everything I could have dreamed as far as texture and taste. The creativity behind the reinvention of the flavors in this dish were certainly appreciated. We finished off the evening with the dark chocolate brownie sundae and it exceeded all expectations! They have definitely raised the bar on this fairly traditional American dessert! With the amazingly dark chocolate of the brownie and the creamy vanilla ice cream it would have been pleasing enough. But they didn't stop there! With the light, refreshing kick that the pomegranate seeds bring and the round, earthy flavor that the pumpkin seeds add, complete with a white chocolate drizzle, this dessert was the piéce de résistance! Such a wonderful experience and I will DEFINITELY be back soon! read more

Terrible customer service. Tried to make a reservation for the same night and cancelled within a few hours because we decided to go somewhere else instead of wait until 9:00. Was never made aware of cancellation policy. Was then charged $100 for canceling within a 12 hour period even though I couldn't have cancelled within 12 hours because the reservation was made only a few hours before. Will not refund me. Do not recommend places with such poor customer service. What a scam! read more

Not quite what we expected. The salmon and elk bolognese were well presented but didn't have nearly as much flavoring as we've had elsewhere. Did really enjoy the house salad though. The service was attentive and really helpful with my gluten issues but everything was too prompt for a great "food and drink experience" - with drinks, salad and entrees we were leaving the restaurant in 35 minutes. I don't know that I've ever spent $100 for restaurant meals so quickly. I get that restaurants need to turn the tables to generate sales but this was a quiet evening with many tables available. read more

This place looks great on paper - the menu looks interesting, the restaurant is gorgeous. However, the execution was mixed. The salads and the burger were great - fresh, well prepared. The pork buns came out soggy and the sauce was salty and overpowering. The fried chicken sandwich just didn't make sense - the greens apples and peppers wouldn't even stay in, and the bun was obnoxiously sweet. Here on vacation, asked around, very few locals had eaten here but had heard good things. The atmosphere upon entering was nice, contemporary. Started off with steamed pork buns and my wife was all "you didn't ask me?" I said trust me. They are awesome, she agreed. She had the poblano pepper and me a special lobster risotto. Both were very tasty although my wife thought the poblano was a tad spicy which overwhelmed the flavor (that's her problemo). Dessert was banana pie which was very good and not your typical piece of pie, bananas were caramelized etc. Staff was friendly for sure. They are fairly new and you can see and sense some growing pains. Very long wait between courses but all in all worth it. read more

We were celebrating a birthday and worried about the limited options because of the off-season but Gather was excellent. The goat pastor tacos were really tasty and probably the best dish we ended up having our entire stay in town. The duck drumsticks and brussel sprouts were also really good. My wife and I in Jackson for our 25th wedding anniversary. Chose Gather to celebrate due to strong reviews. It was better than our expectations. The first night (you can see where this is going) my wife had the salmon and I had the special-- Bison meatloaf. Both cooked perfectly. The real star of the show, however, was the Brussels sprouts appetizer. We loved them so much we came back the second night for Happy Hour and put away two bowls. We were travelling for my girl's birthday so I had to find a nice place to celebrate. We happened to be up in Grand Teton National Park so I chose Gather since it is minutes away in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Gather is a splendid little gem tucked away on a side street in the town. The staff are very friendly and willing to help you especially if you've never dined there before or had the dish that you ordered before. My girl got the Venison rack and it was absolutely delightful. So flavorful and good. Cooked to perfection medium rare......I had the Wyoming Sirloin Strip and it too was delicious. With the brown butter mashed potatoes it hit the spot after a day of hiking in beautiful Teton country. Our waiter was Zach and he was really helpful in recommending cooking temperature suggestions and just gave us an all around good experience. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves up in that part of the country again. read more

I went in for 2 for the price of 1 entrees at the end of the season. The bartender was great. I was disappointed with how little variety there was on their wine list for having so many wines by the glass. We were advised that approximately 5 out of 8 entrees were not available, which was understandable for the last day of the season. What I found ridiculous is that the FOH manager refused to let us use a featured entree towards our 2 for 1. She was extremely rude. I was ready to leave when she said she would do something. The 2 entrees came out and the featured entree, which was pork was overdone and still had the string around it. When I got my bill, she had only partially discounted one of the entrees. She had a terrrible attitude the entire evening. My advice- sit at the bar for dessert (unless the manager is there). read more

We arrived in Jackson on a Sunday night. After a full day on Monday in the park we arrived back at our hotel hungry and ready to eat. After several calls to local restaurants we were disappointed finding out that we could not get in to eat before 8 p.m. so we got lucky with a call to gather. This restaurant was only two blocks down the street from our hotel so it was convenient. The minute you walk in you feel like you found a very nice place to eat. We were seated immediately and our waiter arrived at the table with water and was very thorough about going through the entire menu making suggestions on everything from appetizers to salads and Main Course selections. We ordered the cheese appetizer can't remember the full name but it was very good. My wife ordered the salmon dish and I had the pork shank. The presentation and flavor on both dishes was very very good. I had the dessert which included huckleberry can't remember the name of it very tasty also. Worst experience ever! We had a 7:00 pm reservation for a party of 2. We arrived right on time and although there were plenty of available tables, the hostess wanted to seat us at a table directly in the path of the food servers coming out of the kitchen. When we asked for another table, she replied "no". She refused to re-seat us. We ended up leaving. How rude! Don't waste your time! If the first person you meet here is a complete bitch, it doesn't set a good atmosphere for the rest of the staff or management. If I could give negative stars, I would.
