What a great dinner choice! Everything was unique and delicious. Bar reservation was a fun option. Pork Buns were so flavorful and the bead was super soft. Truffle pasta, absolutely divine! Bison brisket was a must. We shared but still had enough to have the next night.

We were on a tour and had our last meal here. A little unorganized for a place that should be prepared for a party of 20+ people. Also seating was odd. Not enough area for couples to sit with each other. Service was good considering we had a large crowd. I enjoyed the Curry dish which was very good but way too much food. I was so sad that I had to leave half of it because we were in a hotel. For dessert I had the Jackson donut holes. The sauces were Coffee Glaze, Blackberry & Vanilla Dipping Sauce. Very different. Would I get it again, probably not. It was good just not for me. But I would definitely get the curry dish again.

All in all, good food. We had a great server they entertained our shenanigans and many questions. Was very happy with her! We got to dinner early so the dinner vibe hadn't set in. Recommend the pesto burrata hummus appetizer. Craving it even now! Wasn't a ton of pita so that made it a tougher dish to share for four, but if your appetites are smaller, it's just fine. Great flavor! We didn't feel the Caesar salad was exciting. Some places do Caesar well and you crave it. Some just feel like a salad, and the Caesar with both chicken and shrimp was more of the latter for us. Not bad! Just not something I'd get again. I had the bolognese. Wanted to try something with some local flare. I liked and appreciated how the pasta was cooked al dente. The sauce itself was a little bitter or sour or acidic. I would likely try something else if I were to come again.

Came on what I thought was a quiet Sunday to find the place booked solid. Have a reservation or expect a long wait. Cozy ambience in the heart of Jackson with a varied menu with Jackson themed choices. Service and attitude of out waitress was animated and fun, follow up for the store manager was also great. This is what customer experience should be. The Tatar and Beats Blue Salad were excellent! The pork buns have had better but were creative. Of course we had to try the Bison Brisket being where we were. We've now had this and elk or other bison spins on classic American fare. It's no wonder beef is the meat of choice, LOL. A little snafu in ordering and timing made the wait for our entree ridiculous and why the minus one star. Due to our crazy wait the manager was so nice to comp us a desert and the donut holes were delicious Overall enjoyable and would come again for the arrival and ambience, choose your entree wisely.

Came here for my husband's birthday dinner over Memorial Day weekend while visiting Jackson Hole. Made a reservation, which I'd recommend since it filled up fast over the holiday weekend. The space is cozy and a little upscale. Our server was extremely nice and polite and gave us solid recommendations. We did the pork buns (server's suggestion) and brussels sprouts to start, both great, then shared the elk bolognese, truffle pasta, and the trout in a Thai flavor for mains. The elk bolognese and trout were standouts. Cocktails were good and they even brought a complimentary dessert for the birthday. The only miss was the truffle pasta, which could've used more flavor or just some salt, otherwise everything was delicious.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner. Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

We just so happen to be here and snow is low, but the perk is so is the town. Gather did start to fill up as our dinner progressed, so I would recommend reservations! Our service was relaxed, and for us, that was perfect as we're just on vacation enjoying ourselves. We took awhile to look at the menu and I appreciated they had a nice variety of rotating items like soups, wines, beers, and ice creams. We decided to choose some items off their "favorites" and local meats like bison and elk. There is a small bar immediately upon entering and seating to the left and right. There's also a back room for parties.

We came because the menu looked good, but had particular interest in the dishes more unique to the area: bison and elk. Our server came to take our order, and after we both ordered the bison brisket, we were informed that this item was not available today. That is fine (I guess), but maybe something you should lead with when you introduce yourself and the menu to your customers before they go to place orders. What we ended up ordering was all good, but not what either of us really went there to order. Additionally, on the bottom of the menu there is a small note to customers that an additional 2% fee is included and split between all kitchen staff. In theory I understand this idea and also want everyone working there to receive proper pay, but it was kind of off putting to us to put that responsibility on the customer. Just pay the staff what they deserve.

The menu sounds really interesting but execution is mid. The mushroom toast is okay but the cheese flavor is too strong for me. Bison brisket, truffle pasta, cheesecake are okay. Curry trout is pretty bland. Heirloom carrot is good. The elk bolgonese is weirdly sour, from vinegar, I think; I do not like it. The huckleberry mocktail drink (not pictured) is pretty good, on the sweet side. Service is quite slow and they keep forgetting my drink

This place's good reviews are well deserved. Highly recommended. My kids got the kids steak plate, chef sent out an initial plate because he felt he overcooked the steak. Then he sent out the actual plates. My kids were so excited and the portions were generous. Our entrees were good too, pork shank and the fish plate. Highly recommend making a reservation to sit inside in the summer, the place gets packed!

Gather is one of the hot-spots in Jackson Hole. WY. The chef here has worked at a Michelin star restaurant in the past. The place was hopping and a reservation was seemingly required. Tonight, they were a destination spot for two large bachelor and bachelorette parties. The menu has a good variety of meats, salads and veggies. They are served with an eye on presentation. The staff answered all questions regarding the menu and shared other favored spots in town. We started with the brussel sprouts, pepitos, dried cranberries, shaved pecorino and a balsalmic vinegarette. The flavor profile was good, nicely cooked and well seasoned. The portion was generous. I can't say the same about the beet and blue cheese salad. The arugula, candied pecans, blue cheese, pickled beets, fried beet strings and a vinegarette contained many flavors but the boldness of the blue cheese overwhelmed the small candies pecans. The salad lacked a refined uniformed flavor. There was too much acidity and arugula, I felt like a rabbit eating shoots of grass. After realizing this, we left half of it on the plate. Our entree was the buttermilk fried chicken and peppered honey served over a 3 cheese Mac N cheese and Fresno chilies. The chicken was savory and a perfect crunch. The cheese sauce needed salt and lacked and defining taste. A homemade hot sauce was included. This dish was good just not great. Overall, Gather has a nice setting with windows looking out onto the ski slopes. The service was good and they were engaging. The food was fine, just not "I need to go back feeling". They are doing a good business with a restaurant full of patrons. Perhaps you should give Gather a try and decide for yourself.

With so many strong restaurants in Jackson, this one didn't stand out as one we would revisit. Our server was lovely--friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)

Fabulous place w/ great food options including vegan choices which was such a pleasant surprise for us traveling to Wyoming for the first time. Our waitress was pleasant, our water glass was always filled. Food service was fast even for a Saturday evening. If we were local this would definitely be a place to frequent. So many good menu choices! I stole a couple bites of this from my co-worker...its the best things I've ever stolen in my life. So yummy! $19 Wagyu Steak Salad...tasty, but a bit too spicy that it detracts from the quality of the steak itself. And for $20, I was expecting a larger entree sized serving. You need to be ready for a fusion type cuisine. It's mostly game meat but with an eastern twist. We didn't have reservations so we had to wait 45 minutes before a table became available. Service was pretty fast and friendly. Their charcuterie platter had a decent variety of meats and cheeses. They blue cheese tho, that's an acquired taste. We had fried chicken, which was mildly spicy and served on a creamy macaroni. The bolognese papardelle was a bit undercooked - not al dente as expected. The ragu was good. The tartare from wagyu was handcut, the way I like it. They put a fried egg on top that didn't do the dish right. It gave it a sulphuric taste that didn't blend well with the meat / acidity of the garnishes. As a dessert we took the donut holes. One plate for the 3 of us and still we couldn't complete it. read more

Not sure if we went on an off night but we were early for our 8:30pm reservation on a Sunday and waited past our reservation time to be seated. Drinks were good, food was not high quality. I ordered a salad and the "cheese" was the size of a dime. The short rib bun appetizer was okay but nothing outstanding (we've had better), the service was chaotic and more like a TGIFriday's than a supposedly "it" place in a ski town. Overall it was decent but would not waste time eating there if you only have a few nights in Jackson. read more

Great dinner and drinks in Jackson. Had the elk bolognese and it was fantastic. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. My wife had the rainbow trout and said it was delicious. This place uses locally sourced ingredients and makes great, flavorful food! Drinks were good and bar has great service - Matt and Brandon were very attentive and took care of us all night! If you're in Jackson, this is a must stop. Will definitely be back to Gather! read more

Great food and even greater service. I'd give the place 5 stars but the bison that I wanted to order initially was out of stock. I ordered the pork shank on the recommendation of the waitress and wasn't disappointed! The meat was tender and skin super crispy. The waitress, Anya was so friendly and gave us all great recommendations as well as talking about local places to eat and the hidden gems nearby! Would definitely come back here for both the good and great service! read more

Came in on a busy Saturday night to find one open bar stool. I'm grateful that it was the only open seat because I was treated to the best service I've had in quite some time. Bartenders Matt and Brandon were engaging, knowledgeable, and personable. They immediately acknowledged me and introduced themselves, even though they were so busy. Their recommendations were fantastic and they were able to answer any questions I had about ingredients and drinks. Best meal I've had in Jackson, can't wait to come back thanks to their service and the chefs incredible mind(s). I had the caesar salad and the elk bolognese. I wrote a tepid review on Open Table and was immediately contacted by the restaurant to negotiate removing it, so I suspect the #1 rating here is dubious. Our $75/head (plus upcharges for half the choices) prix-fixe New Year's Eve meal was v mediocre. Billed as 3-course, the menu actually directed you to share the appetizers (1 per 2 ppl) and dessert with your party. We had a cheese/hummus plate with flavors that didn't meld and uninteresting pork buns. The mains - elk bolognese, beef, and osso bucco - were equally uninspired and bland. The doughy donut balls we had to choose and share because of our kids were not even up to the standards of Dunkin Donuts. Had they not contacted me to compel me to remove the first review I wouldn't have bothered to write this, but buyer beware at Gather. read more

We really liked Gather! It was charming, warm and inviting. The food was very good, reasonably priced and the service was attentive. The highlight was definitely the Elk Bolognese pappardelle pasta. If you're in Jackson, definitely consider making a reservation at Gather - and gather up some friends to go with you... the portions are worth sharing! read more

Honestly everything is delicious. Wish I could give them 6 or 7 stars. The pork buns were AMAZING and the salads were all delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. We didn't have reservations (although I would 100% make them next time) and just happened to stumble upon the restaurant at 4:50 so we waited 10 mins and got a seat outside! The service was 10/10 and just overall one of the best dining experiences. We split a few entrees and everything was just divine. You must try this place! read more

I took my family to Gather in Jackson Hole last night. In short, great service and great food! Our waitress was incredible and explained the menu options and got us our drinks quickly. She was incredible! The food was also incredible. I had the clam chowder, perfect cold weather app. Then I had the Elk Bolognese. I'm not sure which I liked more between it and the chowder. My family liked their dishes as well. They had the Bison strip loin, the fried chicken and scallops. They really enjoyed their dishes too. Desert was good but we were honestly too stuffed to eat it all. When I come back to Jackson Hole I will definitely stop here again! read more

My first time in JH and I was hearing good things about Gather. I sat at the bar and had my meal. I had made a reservation and got there early but they were still kind enough to seat me. I had the fried chicken and it was delish! Crunchy and fresh. The slaw they put on top of it made the dish. The bartender made me a margarita that was unique and refreshing. Really enjoyed this meal in Jackson! I would say it perfectly fit what we wanted. Pretty good selection of beer and wine, great service and delicious food. We had the salmon and elk bolognese. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and the bolognese noodles were homemade and delicious! I would say the one thing this place is lacking is good ambiance. came here on a girls trip and this place came very recommended. I'm so happy we did! our server/bartender Matt was awesome and gave us great recommendations. We shared the Pork Buns and the Kale salad to start and had the Ribeye for dinner which was soooooo good. The food is fantastic and the drink selection is sure to please everyone. I believe they will also allow you to purchase a bottle at their store to open and drink at the restaurant (corking fee may be required). A hidden gem for sure. For our main entree we shared the trout which is from Idaho. I am not that familiar with trout and always forget it's not a white fish but similar to salmon in looks (pink in color) and taste. We really enjoyed it. Lastly, we usually always say no to desert but when in Jackson! The house made panna cotta was perfection - not too sweet. This is a must stop visit for your trip to Jackson.

We ate here as a family of 4, started with a tasty buratta hummus appetizer but soon it all went downhill. We ordered 2 adult sized hamburgers for the kids, medium done. My youngest kept complaining that it wasn't good, but we assumed she was just being a kid, so we insisted she eat it. Halfway through her burger, she said it's just too burnt to eat and took the patty out. To our horror, the patty was burned to a crisp on both sides! Disgusting! We told a server, who asked if we ordered it well done--no, we ordered it medium. He brought out a new burger. I had ordered a cranberry salad w/grilled chicken--they brought it out w/fried chicken, so they took it back. Then they brought out my salad (without the chicken), which consisted of a handful of greens and a lot of cranberries, and a very sweet dressing (mor of a cranberry syrup). The chicken that was supposed to be on top of the salad came out a while later, but looked quite inedible: charred, lots of black flakes on it as though they hadn't cleaned the grill in a while n my chicken had picked up all the black carbon buildup. I was very hungry and just wanted to eat and leave--I ate what I could of the chicken and we left. Service, before our food arrived: We were seated outside. I got up to go to the bathrooom, and a tall, skinny, short-haired waiter serving another table looked at me, then my family, said something outloud in a foreign language to another server nearby. He then dashed ahead of me to the door to the restaurant, walked through it without holding the door open for me, knowing I was now directly behind him. I grabbed the door, then tried to squeeze through it, and knowing that he knew I was behind him, I asked him where the bathrooms were. My wife and I decided to have a party of around 30 people for dinner after a small intimate wedding ceremony. The Jackson Hotel recommended Gather Restaurant. Great choice! We live in California so had to arrange the dinner via email with Graeme, the owner. He was responsive, attentive, and willing to accommodate our requests. Although it wasn't a true wedding reception, we at first requested to have specialty cocktails served as guests arrived as well as appetizers. Graeme said absolutely no problem. My wife and I decided against that in the end but the option was there. As soon as we walked in, the bartender had drinks in our hands. The staff was friendly and the service excellent. Although we were a large party, food was served promptly. The food was also excellent. Our guests were raving about the Salmon and I loved the chicken friend hen. Thank you for making our event wonderful, Graeme. We will be back to Jackson Hole in the near future and will be coming back to Gather. read more

A must dining if you are in Jackson Hole. We were in town for one night on our way back home to Wisconsin after 2 months in Napa Valley. Gather surpasses any of the valley's top rated restaurants. The restaurant interior decor is lovely and very soothing-reflective of Jackson Hole area. We did not have reservations but my husband and I were accommodated with seating at the bar for dining. Very comfortable and fun to be able to visit with staff and owner. I had the featured trout dish-best trout I ever ate. It will be difficult to eat trout anywhere else. read more

If you are thinking about visiting gather on your vacation, do it. Definitely get a reservation, as we had to wait a bit for a table, but the wait was worth it. The service, the food, the cocktails, were amazing. Mike did a great job guiding us through the menu, and everything he helped us choose was fantastic. The bison was incredibly tender, with such a great flavor profile. Make sure to try the Cest la vie, and the pork buns as well. Owner of restaurant refused to refund $200 for a cancelled reservation left on their voicemail even though the credit card company and Open Table said it was wrong of them to do this. The owner and staff don't pick up the phone purposefully so that you can't cancel easily and then they charge you erroneously. Bottom line is don't make a reservation here as they will charge your credit card without your authorization and not refund you your hard earned money even during Covid. read more

4 stars - no more, no less…read more Let's start with the ambiance because i actually thought that was the best part. Snake River grill has been around for a while and it's designed with that log cabin, woodsy lodge vibe. I love that old world cabin-y feel and they nailed it. Very beautiful space to be in and different from most restaurants in the area. Service -- mixed bag here. Our server was very kind. But she disappeared several times throughout the night. There was a solid 20+ minute lull between apps and entrees -- longer than normal -- which would have been more palatable if a server stopped by once or twice. We sat with an empty table, empty water glasses, and empty drinks. We had to stand up to finally flag down another waiter. Overall - this place is generally regarded as running a very sound operation -- so hard to say what was going on, but definitely put a real damper on the experience. Food - we had 4 total dishes, 2 great, 1 okay, 1 not great. We started with the gnocchi which was prepared in a zucchini cream type sauce. I'm not a big gnocchi guy - usually too heavy for me -- but this summery preparation drew me in. It was stupendous. The zucchini sauce with deliciously fresh zucchini chunks and perfectly delicate gnocchi was an overall excellent dish. We were licking the bowl. For entrees - we had the the spinach papardelle with a rabbit ragu which was also excellent. Rabbit ragu isn't something you find everywhere and it was beautifully executed. Flavorful and fresh and the sauce was not overpowering. The tomatoes chunks were vibrant and delicious and balanced the richness of the rabbit ragu perfectly. The papardelle was infused with spinach and had a perfect chew. Amazing dish. The not so amazing - the bavette steak. The meat itself was good and this is a great cut that's lesser found on menus. The problem was the smoke on it. It was egregious. I don't mind a little bit of smoke on my meat but this tasted like it had been cooked over a wood smoker for the last 2 weeks. It was hard to get past the smoke and neither my wife or i could really eat it. Very surprising that with such a high level of smoke, the menu or servers wouldn't call this out. Smoke is definitely polarizing and not something everybody likes. The whole dish was ruined by it. Big miss. For dessert we had the fruit crumble. The fruit was a blend of several fresh fruits -- delicious -- but the proportion of crumble to fruit was way way off. May sound like nitpicking -- but these are the details that matter and separate an okay dish from a great one. There was a very thin layer of crumble on top (which was great) and below was about 2 inches of jam / preserve. The crumble was gone after a couple bites and we were left with a swimming pool of jam. Less jam / more crumble and you have a top notch dessert on your hands. Overall I'd give this a true 3.5 stars. Ambiance was closer to 5 stars, service 3, food 4. Definitely go check it out

We said we were sharing the pasta and the chicken but not only did they not split it for us, it took two extra requests to get an extra bowl and large spoon to split the pasta and then an extra plate and knife to split the chicken. And those were all from flagging down the runner because our server was a ghost. Didn't introduce himself, took our order, and we basically never saw him again. Overall, a mixed bag. I might come here again out of convenience (i.e., while staying at Teton Mountain Lodge next door). But I will adjust my expectations accordingly.
