One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Had the pork shank, served with lentils and Mexican rice. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. Started with the Waldorf salad, topped with candied pecans and blue cheese creme. Also had blue cheese risotto. Everything was world class. The chef could easily have been from Daniel in NYC. Our waiter was Alex, and he was a consummate professional. His winter gig is at Fleming's in Scottsdale so, as you can imagine, this guy knew his stuff. Rarely can I say that everything was perfect at a restaurant but really, this was one of those times. Reservations are recommended because this place isn't a secret. read more

All around perfection! From the watermelon margarita, the pork buns, venison rack and elk bolognese to the service, this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The sauce on the venison rack was a light but savory drizzle over all the potatoes, mushrooms and little chunks of sausage (don't think homemade heavy meal here, it was perfectly light but filling) A couple of things to consider... - Make a reservation OR even better, cozy up to the bar! You can order food and will undoubtedly get great, quick service sitting there. - you get what you pay for. Great place. A bit pricey but normal in the area, this town is expensive, be prepared! I had a wonderful cocktail and a plate of fresh pasta. It was a bit salted but the flavor was fantastic. Hand's down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! My husband and I recently dined here and it was amazing! He is very picky so I am always nervous when we go out that he will not be happy but he loved it. We ordered the lamb and it was the best lamb we ever had. The potatoes were to die for and the lamb with the sauce was out of this world. Perfectly cooked with a crispy seared outside and medium rare inside. We also had the Elk Bolognese which was really good. Even the dessert which was a gluten free chocolate cake with ice cream was exceptional. We went somewhere else the next night and got lamb they claimed was the best and it didn't event come close to the one here. Wish we dined here all the nights of our trip! read more

This is a cool little gem. The cocktails are hand crafted and generous. The staff very friendly and helpful. We stopped in for Gather's happy hour and I'd have to say that it is perhaps one of the best deals in Jackson. There is an assortment of their small plates 1/2 off and deals on popular cocktails. A great experience overall! We had the brussels sprouts, buffalo octopus appetizers, and elk bolognese and korean style ribeye. Everything was very tasty, pretty, and satisfying. However, my husband and I agree that all the dishes were quite heavy on the salt. Not inedibly salty, but saltier than we would have liked (and I don't consider myself to be a bland food lover). If you're looking to try elk for the first time as a novelty, I wouldn't recommend the bolognese. You can't taste the elk meat a ton (you could've told me it was ground beef), so if that's what you're looking for, just go somewhere and eat a big chunk of elk steak. Now, if you're looking for a competently made bolognese, order the bolognese :) The ribeye flavor was really great and it was quite tender. The ambiance, our server - all fantastic! read more

This was a fun spot for the girls to gather for a quick dinner out on the town. To start, the wine list is abysmal--particularly by the glass. We ordered a bottle of Zinfandel, but it was certainly forgettable. The watermelon salad was good. The scallop dish was fresh and hot. My friend's elk bolognese was so good, she almost licked the bowl. The server was obviously trying to get rid of us, so that was annoying, and the decor is a bit too trendy for me. Really great food. I ordered the Brussels Sprouts--- omg, sooooo delicious. They were like candy. Plus they had pepitos and cranberries on top. I also got re creamed corn. It was perfectly charred and just a touch of cream. I split the macaroni and cheese with my sister in law. Holy cats, it was amazing. I usually think bacon is nice but not necessary on my Mac, but this was just divine. My husband ordered the fried chicken. He said it was tasty but he wouldn't order it again. My friend chose the burger which came with pimento cheese. He said it needed more pimento, but was great. Will definitely return when I'm back in JH! read more

Went there for dinner last week with another couple we were traveling with. My ELk Bolognese was terrific and a very healthy portion. The pasta tasted homemade! But the real winner of the night was the Salmon. One of our party is a huge salmon fan and eats it everywhere. She could not stop raving about it. Called it the "best" salmon she had ever eaten. Admittedly we had some pre-dinner drinks but believe me when i tell you that was high praise from a discerning diner!. Crispy brussell sprouts were also good as was the Fresh Burrata Cheese. Wow! This place is AMAZING! Great atmosphere and great staff and GREAT food. We don't usually dine at high end places, but made the splurge for the holidays. Boy were we happy with the place we picked! It is expensive, but worth every single bit. The pork buns... oh my.. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my lift.. this might be it. The chicken and pancakes. Delish. An awesome twist on chicken and waffles, this chicken would be great by itself, but add savory pancakes and their cranberry sauce. WHOA. The syrup to put over it was an awesome flavor addition. YUM. Our server, Ian, was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is homey and "nice". The food was disappointing. (The head chef was on vacation. So, no specials.). The homemade pasta was some of the best I've ever had, but it lacked an equally impressive sauce. The buffalo ribs were slightly over, so the little meat on them was too dry. The appetizer (Duck Fat Dominoes) was the best thing we had. The service was lovely, which saves this restaurant from a 2-star rating. read more

Made it a point to have a meal here based on feature in local magazine - wow!! Dropped in on my own for lunch and couldn't decide what I wanted but not order too much. Ended up with their soup special of bacon lentil soup snd the Brussel sprouts. Then tried a modified order of 2 rather than 3 pork buns. Pros: the food. Delicious and perfectly prepared. The brussel sprouts were amazing, and the pork belly buns were delicious! A bit overpriced (the drinks especially) but fairly well worth it. Cons: the service was poor. We were told when we arrived that they were "at capacity" and so we had to sit at the bar-- but the restaurant had open tables the entire two hours we were there. Our entrees came out at separate times, which is just disappointing when you're paying so much for the food. Also, they decided that putting a party of 20+ people in the main dining room (when they have a separate party room) was a good idea and would be pleasant for all the other diners. Overall, I'd be happy to give this place another shot, but would have to say something if the service was as poor as this time. read more

Loved their Brussels sprouts! They were so flavorful and were one of the best that I have had. We have been to multiple restaurant on our vacation and this was by far one of the BEST (besides Palatte which is their restaurant at the Wildlife Museum). We had dinner here on our recent trip to Jackson. The ambiance is super cute, and the service was attentive and friendly. The food was good, but not fabulous. The hen was scrawny and we struggled to get a few good forkfuls from it. The pork was bland. The brussels sprouts were fabulous though and the martini was perfection. The biggest bummer was at the end of the evening, the server brought our Amex back and said it was declined. This freaked us out, as we don't carry a balance on it. It was also embarrassing as he was quite loud about it. He did mention that Gather uses a start up company for their payment processing and maybe it was a glitch with them. We used another card and left, called Amex in a panic, and they said all was fine, the glitch was on the Gather end. That was disappointing and made for an overall not pleasant experience. read more
