Great Jambalaya! A lot of food for the money. Typical sportsbar atmosphere. Would recommend.

I was so upset. I've been in the Fdsv business for over 30 years and after seeing the reviews and being in town was excited to take wife an daughter and boyfriend to this seafood discovery. Seated inside fine, waitres fine, ordered drinks..Took awhile ok. Ordering food not sure all questions answered but got tired of HUH! Asked doe charred oysters and she said fried but I didn't ask for burnt and ordered 1/2 dozen not full. Okay fine. Waited 20+minutes for 2nd bee and glass of water for one guests...oh we had 2 other guests they'll just have to wait I guess. Food? My crawfish poorboy was so dry! I asked for some sauce never came. Bread was so hard and dry. Guest had similar experience. Special ordered shrimp etoufee and wife searched and found e shrimp that she ate.In my years I'm very cordial and pay and usually just leave but said to server I am my guests are very dissatisfied. No reaction other than bring the check. Wednesday night.. crony's in the hood which we're getting good service. Just saying that in these days service is king. U need to clean it up. read more

My first time trying Cajun / Seafood here in Lubbock and this place is great! I don't know if it's authentic Cajun food but it sure is delicious! We got the gator bites and ate every bite! My Cajun mac n cheese was delicious and so was my fried shrimp po boy!! We will for sure be back to this cool nook. read more

I cannot rightfully review the food as we were never served... We arrived at 1:45 in the afternoon. There were only two tables when we arrived. We were not greeted & proceeded to wait 25 minutes for service whilst watching staff clean tables, tab out checks & get a drink for a gentleman who came in after us!!!! After 25 minutes of NO service, no drink orders, no acknowledgment, we left & it was a quiet exit as well since no one seemed to see us leave. A true travesty & they should be very ashamed at how poor this looks upon this establishment. read more

Hands down the WORST service/food I have ever gotten at a restaurant. The waitress didn't pass out our menu, we had to get up and retrieve our own silverware, and when it came time for us to give our honest opinion about the food, she made us feel so inadequate and replied in such a distasteful manner. Now I'm not picky with food at all. I will basically eat anything that is put in front of me. but the jambalaya looked/smelled like it was thrown around in toilet water. The crawfish in my étouffée was chewy from being so over cooked and looked like it was drowned in water and had chunks of tomato and celery in it that look like they came from a can????. Now I get that jambalaya is a soup based meal (which our waitress so rudely pointed out when a member of my table brought it up) but it was so watery to the point that she spilled it on her way back to the kitchen. She nicely comped our meals but had a few words to say under her breath as she was doing so. It was a slow Sunday night so there was absolutely no need for the service to be that terrible and the food to taste how it did. Please fix your waitresses attitude and maybe hire a chef. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Wish I could say something positive about this place but since our server forgot to place our order we didn't get to eat! After waiting an hour we just gave up and just left. Our server looked like a bartender with a large bar towel hanging out of her outfit and couldn't describe the menu items very well to us. Also didn't seem to understand the fact to check in with her table after we have been waiting so long. This place also had a really bad smell too! I wouldn't recommend this place even to the most Cajun loving foodie out there!! read more

Food was decent but the price was fairly cheap. The best part of my meal was their bloody Mary's. Service was good on a Monday evening.

Been here a few times recently and I like the place. Good service and food. Drinks are cheap before 7. The Cajun Cigars are interesting. They are egg roll cheese sticks, kind of a different twist. The chicken strips and fried shrimp are standard. The Mac n cheese is delicious with a Cajun flavor. Definitely try the Fried Mac n cheese though! read more

Most disgusting place I've ever been too! Do not waste your time or money on this restaurant. Food was nasty and now I have an upset stomach. Ordered the cajun pasta, which menu says it has pasta,chicken, sausage & shrimp. It had 0 shrimp & when I asked waitress why it didn't have any,she said she didn't know I wanted shrimp in it. First off our waitress was nonexistent...Mattie, she would disappear for long periods of time and seemed very scattered. They were out of everything too, fettuccine, chicken, regular buns, etc. The food literally had no seasoning, I thought this was "Cajun" food. My husband ordered an appetizer with just gator (tiniest portion) and fries for his meal and it was $17! It would have been different if it was good or even had a good portion, but it was so bland and nonexistent that that is ridiculous. We definitely will never go back there, it took over an hour for our food to come out. It wasn't even that busy, but the service was horrible! read more

Food was terrible! My husband ordered the shrimp creole and none of the shrimp had been deveined!!! We showed it to the waitress and she went to tell the manager. She then returned and informed us that they do NOT devein their shrimp. It was gross!!! I ordered the crawfish étouffée. It was bland and the crawfish was chewy. This place has a fun party atmosphere but the food is horrible. Don't go there hungry and expect Cajun food. The crawfish bisque is pre packaged tomato soup with a few crawfish pieces on top. The boudin burger was ok except it was topped with a pre cooked sausage link and no boudin to be found. Nice waitress and staff. read more

We started out with the gator bites. They were done perfectly and tasted great. My son ordered the peel and eat shrimp which didn't taste fresh, but were pretty good just the same. The crawfish etoufe was good, but the grilled catfish was very greasy. If you're looking for a seafood dinner, you should give this place a try, but keep in mind you're not along the shore and eating the catch of the day. read more

Good food. We like the cajun cigars and the cajun pasta with alfredo sauce. The crawfish is pretty good as well. Waitresses are friendly. Drinks are cold! The food is horrible! Do not waste you money here. The fried food was good, way overpriced for what you get. This is a bar, so expect what you would get from a bar. Horrible service, smartass waitresses who are slow. I had the Jambayla it was like eating tomato paste, in face I am sure that is all it was. They opened the can and poured it onto the top of my food. The chicken was dry and hard the rice not cooked all the way. I did not eat but 2 bites. Jazz is way better. The first time I ate there, the service was lousy, food was good. The waitress was too busy sociallizing. The second time the food was okay and the service much better. I know this is supposed to be a cajun restuarant but there is such a thing as too much spice. Beer was great. I think I will just eat appetizers and drink beer next time. I'll skip the entrees. Food is excellent here! The wait staff was very friendly even though they were clearly busy. I always had a drink, and my food was so flavorful. I ordered Alfredo and it was better than your average Italian place. It's a Cajun type atmosphere and it's a nice change from the Lubbock scene. read more

I have been going to this place since it first opened and will never go back, My husband and I went at 6:45 on a Monday evening and seated ourselves with no greeting. The bartender and two waitresses looked at us several times and kept talking and tending to their phones. After 15 minutes I got our silverware and sat back down while still being ignored. We decided to leave but I took the silverware to the bar to return it and told the girl since we wouldn't be needing these she should have them back. She said ok and bye. I told her I didn't appreciate being ignored and she said they thought we were taken care of. I informed her she wouldn't know since they never found out and I would call the manager tomorrow. She told me ok fine and turned around to the bar. This is no way to run a business and they should all be fired. read more
