Was not happy with service. The plumber showed up 30 min late with no call. Not upset at this point. I had side access to the main plumbing lines and was easy access. Before he started I asked him 4 times what the estimate was going to be. He just looked at me and kept working and proceeded to clean the clog from my drain which took less than 10 min.. After the job was completed, I asked again how much. He said I should have a camera put in to see what he did $$. He said I had to call his boss. The boss said it was a complicated job... Really! $175. I said it was way too much. Settled on $150. Others advertise for $75. He then tried to sell me piping work for better access to the main. Again Really. Just trying to get your money. I recently had an emergency at my house. My toilet flooded from the bottom of the bowl and my shower overflowed at the same time. I spoke to Raul and he said he would arrive in an hr. Called the weekend prior to New Years 2019. Two guys showed up. They could not unclog my drains. Then the sales pitch started. Then they wanted to charge me the agreed upon price. Had them call the owner, and he still wanted to charge full price. I said you did not unclog drain, I'm not paying full price. We settled for much less. Not a good way to do business. I don't normally write reviews unless I feel strongly about a business, but Greg at Gava's Rooter is amazing so I thought I'd share my experience. It was the night before Thanksgiving and my entire household was making different foods for our 'friendsgiving'. I'm pretty sure my potato skins in the garbage disposal was the last straw, but basically our whole thing clogged up on both sides and was flooding out of our dishwasher. On top of that, our sink is connected to the neighbor's sink so their water was coming up through our side; imagine the panic we were having when all this water kept coming out of nowhere. Anywho, we got a quote from another company on Yelp and they were going to charge us holiday prices up to around $175 which was crazy and even their 'regular' prices were around $105 so we said we'd check around for more. I called up Greg on the day after Thanksgiving (which still some companies consider a holiday???) and he was available same day. He texts (which is real convenient since I prefer text) and he arrived perfectly on time. Not only was he super friendly, he fixed our entire sink really quick, showed me the problem of what caused the clog, and even gave me tips on what brands to buy from the store for safer degreasing methods that are less caustic to our pipes. And on top of that, his price was significantly lower than the other company's "regular" pricing. He even accepts cash, credit, or check so you have a nice amount of options for payment. So all in all, he was quick, efficient, informative, and very affordable. He swears by customer service, and his dedication shows in how he works and interacts with the customer. If you're looking for a plumber, I swear just call him up and you won't be disappointed. What can I say? Greg has always come through for my family and I. Have a mainline explode on you on 4th of July? That's what happened to me. Greg saved us, we were able to shower and live like normal until the job was able to by finished the next day, but we had no interruption in water source. He saved our party and fixed our main waterline for a very affordable rate. Your kids decide to drop a brush into the toilet of your only bathroom close to 9pm on Sunday night? We had a leak in our kitchen sink piping and I was desperate to get a plumber quick. After a number of calls to a plumber nearby (First 2 didn't pick up nor called back) I got in touch with Greg. He was very courteous and have offered to come by in a few hours. Greg showed up and here I see this big friendly yet very professional guy who took a quick look at our set up and was able to explain what was wrong and what can be done to fix it. He was able to redo the bad piping that our house remodeler did a MickeyMouse job on. Explained the entire process and why the previous job failed. Then he rooted the pipes to clear the stoppage and a clean professional looking job all in less than an hour! I have used other plumbers in the past that costed more, took longer and was no where as friendly nor cared to explain what and why. A year ago, one of our toilet in the house was having some plumbing issues for several days, had called couple plumbers to come in to give us estimates on the job, but none of those plumbers seemed to be very helpful. I have to agree with the other reviews here, and it is redundant but in a good way. Greg is great! Greg came out at 9:30 on Sunday, July 3rd after a L-O-N-G day at our block party. We had A TON of people at our place and, with all the traffic, the main line clogged. He cleared things up and showed me the root of the problem - pun fully intended. We had some serious roots growing through our main line and with all the traffic that day it just couldn't keep up. With some serious snake work he managed to clear the line but told me this is a temp fix. I had him back a couple of days later to explore a long term fix and he brought out his camera and showed me what was going on - NOT pretty! Anyway, long story short, it was an all day job. They had to dig up the yard and fixed the problem by adding a new sewer "thing" and I should be set and good to go. The guys were prompt, hard working and very professional. We have used Gava's twice now to help us with blocked drains. The first was a nasty, giant ball of hair in our shower. Today was a whole roast my husband thought our garbage disposal could handle (but failed). In both cases: -Came out same day late in the day when I was home from work -Greg came out on time, professional, and informative -Cleared the blockage in minutes. In both cases, he joked it took longer to give us a receipt than do the work -Took a quick look at other pluming issues and advised us free of charge on how to handle (a leak from the water heater due to a missing condensation hose on the first visit, and info about relocating the water heater, flushing it regularly and getting a filter the second time) When you see a business with a nearly perfect score, you think, what's the catch? Super quick response. Came over 1 hr after I called them for an emergency. Owner is a veteran plumber who knows his trade and his team, Jorge and Marcos were awesome! They fixed a pipe that was drilled through from the outaide of my house. They came over, assessed, quoted a great price, and drilled into my cement slab to expose the pipe and replace it.
