Stopped by Gavin Donuts recently and really liked it. The donuts were fresh and tasted great, definitely better than a lot of other donut shops around the area. The place has a nice relaxed feel and it's a comfortable spot to grab coffee and a donut. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. They also have really good coffee and espresso, and the Vietnamese coffee is worth trying. Overall a great little place with good quality and good service. read more

Good variety of donuts and I kind of want to gatekeep but I don't want to prevent people from supporting this business so... best iced coffee I've had in a looooooooong time. 2nd place would be a mocha straight from Mexico. Just order it like that: iced coffee, nothing else. Sweetened to perfection - not too sweet and not too bitter. Food was made to order, also fresh, homemade, wasn't too long of a wait and was served hot! And yummy! I did not personally try a donut, as I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich, but my buddy tried and said they were very good! I had my eye on a massive cinnamon looking donut so please save me one for my next visit! Chocolate muffin was very good, although, being a Chocolate addict, I do wish it had more chocolate chips actually in it. The muffin itself was delicious, still. This donut shop was always situated in front of the church (St. Bonaventure Catholic Church), which I've always attended when I was little, yet I never once walked over here in the 24 years that I've been going to church. I've been going to church daily and one day, I decided to drop by because I was in the mood for some donut holes. I've also read on Yelp that they have freshly squeezed orange juice. The store seems very popular as you can always see people going in and out, even having a lottery machine. I decided to buy an orange juice and donut holes. The store worker instantly grabbed a fresh orange juice from the fridge that was already sealed. The orange juice, though freshly squeezed, still had a lot of pulp in it. I would give it a 4/5 yelp stars. You might ask, why I would give this establishment a 5 yelp stars despite the orange juice? Well, the DONUT HOLES more than made up for it. It is perfectly glazed, fresh, and is sold for 3 dollars a bag. As I am watching my sugar and calories, I asked for 2 dollars' worth of donut holes. They were the most delicious thing I have ever tasted, even beating local donut shops or even chain donut shops. From this point on, I am a lifelong fan. Other donut shops have stale donuts, but these are fresh because on the weekend, you can see how they bring a mountain of them on a pan, set on top of the counter, as it seems to be the #1 seller. I will now stop by this donut shop after mass from time to time, as they just earned a new fan. The local store deserves recognition by the Yelp community for the donut holes alone. read more

There are one million donut places in Huntington Beach. This is not a true statement. There are a lot of donut places in Huntington Beach. Each one has a different personality, menu and pricing. This spot has great fresh donuts, the usual reheatable ham and cheese croissants and freshly made breakfast croissant sandwiches made to order. They also have bagels - the bagel guy was delivering a couple of fresh bags while I was there. Very friendly staff - mom and teenage daughter when I went Monday. Ordered the #5 for myself - 3 meat breakfast croissant with eggs, cheese, add avocado because I'm a goddam pig. $7.99 For my husband, a dainty sausage, egg and cheese croissant $6.49. Honestly we're like Jack Sprat and the wife. My husband is a buttermilk bar afficianado and this place passed with flying colors. He loved the flavor and texture. $1.50 each. I love any filled donut - raspberry filled, lemon filled, custard filled... and this place did not disappoint. $1.75 each. The only bad thing while I was there, a richy rich mom with 3 bratty out-of-control children. Doors left open on their SUV outside meant they took up 3 parking spaces. The "cute" 3 year old girl helping herself to drinks out of the cooler while the owner's daughter told her "those cost money." All 3 "angels" were SO LOUD. I locked eyes with another patron and we shared a WTF look. But this had nothing to do with the delicious food, service and pricing. I'll definitely be returning. read more

This is a hidden gem for lunch and fresh pressed juices. Friendly service, great prices and plenty of parking. I haven't had a sandwich yet that wasn't exemplary. Soft bread, crisp veggies, quality meat and cheese. Roast beef and Swiss is my favorite. I stop by often for a juice after dropping kiddo at Marina HS. They have pre-set combinations, but you can always choose your own. I love the cucumber, celery, green apple, pineapple, ginger combo. Better prices than anywhere i have found nearby. read more

Loved this place at one point but they are scammers. This donut shop was a part of our everyday routine. I'd get juice while one of my sons would get donuts and the other got a ham and cheese croissant. After a while I noticed their prices would jump daily especially after tipping consistently. Their juices are advertised as 6.50. It doesn't say 6.50+ or more for substitutions per drink. There's A1-4 but they have different options and combinations on their wall. They offered me an alternative for A1 because I have a carrot sensitivity. Initially it was regular priced but after some time depending on who I'd order it with the price would fluctuate .50-$1. I ordered 3 drinks today. Went in with $27 with the intention to tip. That lady charged me 25.50. A whole 2 dollars more per drink than advertised & .50 less than ordering 4 drinks. She did not inform me of a price difference or anything just took the initiative to choose what I'd spend. NEVER WILL THEY SEE ANOTHER DOLLAR FROM ME & at this point I declare and decree their business see no more money PERIOD. After reflecting this last 90 mins I realized they asked lots of personal questions and because I live in the neighborhood I candidly shared but now I see it was about counting my pockets trying to figure out how I could afford to spend money there regularly. Probably assumed illegal activity because how could you ever think it would be okay to charge me more because I'm a young woman FULL of MELANIN. There were a few times I'd be waiting on my juice to be made & others would come in yet I paid more for the same thing but because I intended to spend a specific amount I didn't care because in my mind that's on them no sweat off my back. But today? I realized it for what it was. I legit tipped EVERY TIME. You clearly hate your business. Luckily I've grown otherwise I'd file a discrimination complaint & suit. UNLESS you can show me people without melanin with trumped up charges every visit but either way their behavior is illegal. I saw another review as I came to make mine saying how expensive their donuts are now. I purposely used cards because I wanted to understand what I was being charged for. I hope their poor behavior is worth what comes with it. I fully intended to spend that whole $27 regardless but her forcing extra funds lost them business and will in FACT continue to do so. I should've stopped going when they juiced spoiled fruit that had me sick for 2 weeks last year. Stay FAR FAR away from this place! I had the worst experience this morning. I got one donut with sprinkles and a dozen donut holes. The lady at the counter kept giving me a dirty look and didn't smile the entire time. It was $3.00 for a dozen donut holes! I've never seen this high a price for donut holes at any donut shop in Orange County. It's usually $1.00 or $1.50 max at other places. Anyway, I paid $5.00 cash and the lady gave me another dirty angry scowl as she grabbed my money and threw the change at me. Honestly, super rude behavior and I would have said something but it was early morning and I had a bunch of other errands to run. I will NEVER return to this donut shop ever again (there are so many other good donut shops in this city that are cheaper and actually treat you like they want your business). Walked in here for the first time and I'm literally feeling stressed!!! They attack you AS IF you know exactly what you want BEFORE even get a chance to look around!!! There's a donut store on every corner, but I only stopped in here because I was in the area. Could easily make this a regular stop as my nail shop just moved... but I think not. Oh, the food you ask??? Just "meh". I did my normal thing to try a plain glazed to see if they could do that... and it was very dense. Not a great glazed at all, if you ask me. The best "neighborhood" donuts with the pink box. Everything plus more of a shop you'd want. Fresh variety of donuts but can't go wrong with the classics. The most notable for our gang is the fresh orange juice and green pressed juice -can't beat the price and convenience. Not to mention the aunties are part of my son's Saturday morning routine, 'donut holes and a chocolate sprinkle, two ham and cheese croissants, one with a green juice for my mom and 2 orange juices for me and dada pwease.' At least once a week I take my girls after school to get donuts for the past 2months and every single time the ladies that work there are so rude. One time one of them was speaking Spanish to a Spanish speaking customer and made a joke about iced coffee that he ordered I guess because she assumed he wanted hot coffee and when he corrected her she didnt like it. Today one of the ladies gave us 11 instead of 12 dozen and even told us she gave us a good deal when all we could choose from was the sprinkled donuts and cake donuts. I ordered a pastrami sandwich. The sandwich had the SMALLEST piece of pastrami. Sandwiches are priced at $7.99 so I was expecting a normal amount of pastrami for the price but was disappointed to get cheated out. The sandwich had plenty of lettuce and other veggies and the bread was nicely toasted. My gripe is getting cheated out of pastrami. I wanted Celery Juice that was open at 8am and it was Gavin's Donuts or the chain stores such as Whole Foods. I wanted to try Gavin's since it is an individually owned family business and wow! I'm glad I stopped it. It's a nicely kept donut shop with breakfast sandwich options and freshly made juices. They made the celery juice right in front of me and for a large cup, the price was superb. I also tried the blueberry glazed donut + cronut glazed donut. Wow wow wow.
