History

Established in 2014.

Gearheads is a new business in Texas opened by Kevin Carr and his son Cory in 2014. Kevin Carr has over 30 years experience building custom cars from Street cars to SEMA show cars. Kevin was involved in the building of the orange Toyota Supra and the blue Nissan Maxima than were the main characters in the original Fast and Furious movie. Kevin started in High School where he learned welding,automotive mechanics and paint & body back in 1980. In 1981 his friends were amazed when he preformed his first chop-top on his own 1972 Ford courier at the age of 16. The courier later received a V8 engine swap with a four speed transmission that would be frequently seen at the Orange County International Raceway drag racing on grunge nights. Working here in Rockwall Texas with his son Cory, Gearheads will be the Custom car shop to keep your eyes on. Meet the Business Owner: Kevin C.

My story is simple: like many people, I liked welding. After years of training, I got good at it...really good at it. So much so that I began to take on more complicated projects, many requiring serious fabrication and engineering skills. Through further training under the tutelage of some amazing mentors, I felt confident enough to open a small, but successful, business in Southern California's prestigious Orange County area. Whether it's diesel performance, late model muscle, hot rods, or anything in between, my skills are being put to good use. Now happily settled here in the great State of Texas, my new shop allows me to focus on doing custom work for any budget, knowing full well that my knowledge, skill and craftsmanship will help me earn your business for life.
