OUTSTANDING! It took me almost 2 years, but I finally located my high school dream car. A 1986 Camaro IROC Z28. The only problem... finding someone with the knowledge and skill set to work on her. I called 2 shops and visited 1 more in the area and all three said you need to take it to "Rich Performance Muffler"! I'm so glad I did. Not only does Rich know his stuff, but he is also not out to make a fast buck. I had a list of things I thought I needed to address but wasn't sure to start. He suggested he address my current request (Returning my exhaust to the original factory look), and I drive it for a while and keep track of any issues that may arise. This way he isn't undoing something he did early to address a different issue. I've done that and since them he has addressed my A/C, an Antifreeze Leak and Manifold Gasket. (Disclaimer: I AM one to usually keep things on the "cheap," but in this instance I decided that I'd better shoot for quality over well... being a cheapskate!) So, after reading some fellow Yelp*er's reviews, I decided to give Rich's Performance Muffler (RPM) a chance. I dropped-in after calling ahead to check on a time slot availability for having a set of chrome exhaust tips put on my F150. Rich was kind enough to break away from his work to take my call (Thanks, Rich!), and let me know that he would take a look at my job, when I arrived. Within minutes of my arrival, Rich quickly evaluated my job, which I knew might require a bit of custom fabrication work. After checking for the necessary custom fab part, Rich gave me the cost and time estimate. I was waiting for the job, so my truck went pretty much straight away into the shop, and after verifying my preferences on placement of where the tips would be in relation to the bottom of the quarter panel on my truck, work began. The work was not cheap, but it was completed faster than promised, was done professionally, and looks awesome; giving me the confidence that it was done right! As I mentioned, I would normally search for the cheapest price, but I wanted this work done perfectly, without questioning whether or not I made the right decision. I am COMPLETELY satisfied with RPM and the work done! But, here's the "Bottom Line..." If you've got a job you want done right and with the utmost quality, and are of a mind that, "you get what you pay for..." Then, RPM is the shop for you! On the other hand, if you're only concerned with getting something done on the cheap, you might shop elsewhere. And, there ARE two more aspects to this type of "shopping:" And that is, 1) that time is money, and RPM was a conveniently located solution for me. I had an expensive repair so I trusted the dealership to do my transmission repairs and after which, my car was making an awful racket, like a jet engine. I thought it sounded normal because the repairs took so long I didn't remember if it was normal, but my boyfriend told me how loud it was and recommended this place. After I got it repaired here (a few months ago) its been quiet as a mouse. Also the dealership only replaced half the brakes parts so he told me about that and I had them redone as well. read more

Went here to get my front calipers and brake fluid replaced. Brake fluid was filled past the max line, a bolt was missing from an air intake part of the engine so it was excessively shaking when I turn engine on, that same part had an air hose completely disconnected with some kind of fluid spilled all over the connections, not sure if they detached that component or not so I don't know if this mechanic left it like that or the last mechanic I went to. I live too far from here to wanna go back and correct it or get the missing bolt. Still gave three stars just because the new calipers are working fine. read more

When I walked in Rich asked what I needed, he gave me a price, took in my truck and got it done; this man doesn't play and does increíble work. I had asked about some additional work I might consider when he was done with my muffler but when he bought my truck out the additional work was already done (no charge)...who does this​​. I had what I thought was going to be a simple DIY muffler swap, which ended up spiraling into a mod nightmare! I ended up contacting Rich's Performance Muffler and asking if they could help out with some alterations to the exhaust components. I already pulled the parts off the car, so I wasn't able to bring the car to his shop. I brought the parts to Rich and he worked with me to make all of the fittings and cutting work. He brought me into the shop and we discussed the problem and worked out a solution together which was absolutely awesome, and a rare find! It's nice to know that even though my need wasn't a major fabrication request, that I was able to still get such great service from a highly skilled fabricator like Rich. My classic '68 New Yorker had a collapsed exhaust system. Rich and his team created an exact replica of the factory system. I couldn't be more pleased! The work is beautiful, the car runs fantastic now, and here's what else: the bill came in at just about half what I was quoted. I had approved the higher amount, too. But, Rich didn't charge me more than he had to. I'm SOLD. Wylie is quite a drive for me from Irving; but, if I have exhaust system needs in the future, Rich's will be where I head to. Rich is the real deal when it comes to mechanics. If you have ever actually turned a wrench then you know good work. He is never a liar or a cheat period. The negative complaint is gotta be someone that doesn't know a mechanic from his Maltese. I have had several vehicles worked on and consider Rich and his team friends. I went in needing a flange re welded and adjusted for a TRD axel back and rich walked me into the garage to show me exactly what he was doing and was very straight forward on what he was doing to my car before he did it, i had to come back for an unrelated note after about 20 minutes of driving, he fixed an issue i had with my exhaust hitting my sway bar and squeaking. I have been using Rich for years for my automobile mechanic needs. He does quality work for a fair price and is transparent with everything he does. He's very capable across the entire spectrum of car and truck brands and models, both domestic and foreign. He is a liar and thief! Took my car for alignment. Told me i needed new bearings and ti rod ends over 1000 to repair before he would do alignment. I'm not stupid and have a trusted reliable mechanic Baileys Automotive, they just dont do alignments. HE charged me $50 for putting it on the rack. I took directly to my mechanic and there is nothing wrong with my car. There is a special place for people that try to take advantage of people who are too trusting! BEWARE!! Rich is a LIAR and a CHEAT. Overpriced and overcharged for repair. Will not honor warranty!! Check engine light on = cat convert. Went in for a cat converter, hard sell on his high dollar model!! HE LIED about O2 sensor needed replacement, but really his mechanic couldn't remove it from the cat convert so he way overcharged for this item. LIAR!! The check engine light comes on again, and this converter crapped out within 12 month warranty. Went back for warranty, told me no...He sold me another cat converter, it failed within 90 days!!! I came back within 1 year warranty and he refused to replace it. He had a ton of excuses for NOT taking taking care of his customer.. BEWARE!! LIAR and a CHEAT!! read more

Rich's Performance Muffler is excellent value, not cheap, but excellent value, Rich offered options, we decided on what was needed and what I wanted and he made it happen, just as we agreed, he also welded on the O2 bung so I could install the EFI unit, I am sure the street guys appreciate Rich, but I have a 1984 Bronco with 6" of lift, a tweaked EFI 351 and a lead foot, after trips to Colorado and Big Bend (no trailer involved) and a shredded transfer case the exhaust system is just like RIch installed it, he understands 4x4, tucked everything in nice and tight, well constructed, love the sound of the Gibson headers and Flowmasters, i highly recomend Rich's Performance Muffler read more
