Service was excellent even on a busy night with our server taking care of multiple large parties. The cocktails at these concepts are truly next level and worth the higher price point. Every drink is well balanced, even the complex cocktails. Undertow just does not miss!

I kicked off our 90-minute experience with the Blackberry Yuzu Margarita, and it was the perfect balance of crisp, sweet, and tart. I wrapped things up with the Macadamia Nut Piña Colada which, fittingly for being "aboard" a pirate ship, was delightfully rum-forward without being overly sweet. In between cocktails, we shared a couple of snacks that were such a welcome addition -- something you sadly don't always find at local speakeasies! The service was top-notch thanks to our bartender Rocco, whose knowledge and attention to detail made the experience even more fun. Between the creative cocktails, immersive vibe, and fantastic hospitality, Undertow is easily one of the coolest spots around!

This restaurant is legitimately fantastic and deserves to be discovered by more people. My husband and I went on a Friday night, and the place was absolutely poppin with a great, lively atmosphere. We split the Ammo Burger with onion rings and the Philly cheesesteak (we added jalapeños, of course!) with fries. Everything was phenomenal. The burger was delicious, the Philly cheesesteak was fantastic, and the fries deserve their own shout-out. They're cooked in beef tallow, and the crisp on them was absolutely perfect. The onion rings were also delicious! They had an amazing beer special while we were there, buy one, get one for $1, which I believe may have been a Labor Day special, so definitely check before you go. But we were more than happy to take advantage of it! One thing I really loved was seeing the chef come out and make his way around the restaurant to say hello and check in with everyone. That always creates such a welcoming, personal vibe and says a lot about a place. Seriously, if you haven't discovered Smoke & Grain yet, put it on your list. Great food, great atmosphere, cold beer, and an all-around fun night out. We will definitely be back!

There was tons of seating & even bar top seating. I opted for the bar & was helped out by the lovely MJ who was highly attentive and super personable! I ordered a church music, water & I went for the Western Bacon Bbq Burger + Fries They have tons of side options to choose from & lemme just say the burger was one of the best I've had in a long while esp with a side of ranch. I love that it comes with cheddar & pepper jack cheese I asked for it to be well done as well, it was crispy yet juicy! I'll def be back to try other options!

Sometimes seating is difficult with a larger party, as the tables and seating seem a little compact. There are tons of drinks in their menu to choose from. For a speakeasy, I think their pricing is very comparable, and really did not feel as if it was overpriced. The first time I came here I ordered a bees knees cocktail, and last time I enjoyed a generously poured glass of prosecco. I love the atmosphere, location, pricing, and service at this speakeasy. Can't wait to come back.

I did appreciate that the speakeasy was below ground and required a password. I do think it's odd that when making a reservation online, you are not prompted on how to retrieve the password. Thank goodness my friend receives the emails and let me know ahead of time what to say. You enter down a long hallway and wait at a bookcase that opens. It kind of feels like forever because there's nowhere to go and could create a little bit of potential claustrophobia/panic for people who may be sensitive to those types of environments. The drink menu was good but I really wasn't wowed. They did offer three mocktails which wasn't really impressive and the cocktails did include a variety of liquors and flavor profiles but again, wasn't as extensive or interesting as some other speakeasies around town. The food menu was very disappointing - a lot of dairy and bread - pretzels with cheese, flatbread, queso with chips, and "rabbit food" - hummus with bread and vegetables. We asked to have all vegetables instead of bread and they did accommodate with a generous helping of full-size rainbow carrots and cherry tomatoes. We actually ran out of hummus before we could finish the vegetables. I understand elevated pricing for the aesthetic/experience but I did think the pricing here was a little bit high for what was received.

I love the pistachio shaken cold brew but I sub the strawberry cold foam with pistachio cold foam- it's AMAZING!! I love my IPAs.. so it's nice to have a place to experiment different craft IPAs. We love the events they offer and will take advantage of them as they suit my husband and I having little ones. Love the games and most importantly the BOOKS!! Thank you for offering books! We are a family of bookworms and more places need to offer this for the littles! As for food... it's more of a quick grab with a long wait. Meaning the quality isn't why we come lol. I got my son a cupcake and it was so dry and hard when I went to break it apart for him... definitely didn't cash in the Mom tax. We've had the wings and pretzel bites and it was so-so... not something to rave about. This is the spot to come when your kiddo is in dance class and you need downtime to work on the laptop or make it a full family thing with games and book-it-up to graze. I love this concept and I appreciate it being so close to home and not having to drive to Chandler or Mesa for nice vibes.
