I frequent Tempo Cantina often, however, this was my first time visiting Tempo Geisha. I enjoyed the concept of Mexican with Asian fusion. Music was great. The happy hour menu offers $10 food and drinks. I ordered the Grilled Pineapple with Seafood from the Lent Menu. Diana was an excellent hostesses and Karla provided great service as well. They did an amazing job with the decor and the service was also great. However, we were a little disappointed with the food and drinks. Not everything on the menu hit the mark for us. The sushi and carnitas taco were bland and lacked flavor, and the taco shells were soggy, which took away from the overall experience. My friend also said her drink was too salty. Went to geisha tempo last September and it was amazing!! Apparently there is new management. The service, the food......in September when we sat down we were immediately greeted by our server who took our drink order and said he'd be back with the most amazing chips and salsa we've ever had, boy was he right! They were absolutely delicious. The night just went up from there the service the food are dessert. Everything was amazing. I bragged about it to my friends, and we finally all got together and went last Saturday night to Geisha, which was pretty much empty. We sat and patiently waited for these chips and salsa that I had bragged about, finally had to ask the waiter and he said they don't have those anymore, but he promised me something just as good what I was given was some chips that were not tortilla chips, thin and tasteless, some pico de gallo, Mexican crumbled cheese and guacamole I guess look like more like a smashed avocado it was just bad. The food was OK, I ordered steak tacos which I've had better street tacos and the salsa they serve with it is sooooo ridiculously hot you can't eat it!! The menu has definitely changed. The Sushi roll that I had last time was no longer on the menu and I was very disappointed dessert that three of us could barely finish in September has shrunk and was barely enough for four of us to share. We had been waiting for this spot to open since we heard it was connected to the other Tempo near Brea Mall. I'm pretty sure it is, but this one leans way more into sushi and seafood. Honestly, it feels like there's a little bit of everything here. Our family went all in and ordered cheeseburger fries, asada tacos, a sushi roll, plus a margarita and a lychee martini. Safe to say, everyone found something they liked. The vibe inside is fresh and lively. Everything looks new, clean, and thoughtfully put together. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and ordered the fixed 4-course menu to share. The food itself was truly excellent. My husband had the steak and scallops with cream sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it. The shrimp with butter and herbs paired with the soft bread was absolutely delicious. I loved the frisée salad with goat cheese, beets, and pear -- beautifully balanced and fresh. My entrée was the sushi roll, which was also fantastic. And the butter cake served with ice cream and berries for dessert... oh my goodness, it was incredible. The food easily deserved five stars. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the meal. Our waiter was not very attentive -- we weren't brought water, waited quite a while for a butter knife (and were given a cutting knife instead), and he didn't check on us until the very end of the meal. An automatic 18% gratuity was added, which felt disappointing given the level of service. My husband is a generous tipper, but we didn't feel much effort was made. Should read 3.5 stars Tempo Geisha is Tempo's new "upscale" restaurant, located in the building that used to be inhabited by Taps. It's vibey place with lots of stimuli (loud music, videos, vibrant murals, lots of colors etc.) and boasting a Mexican, Japanese & Western fusion of sorts. We came during their soft opening the other night and while I think this place has some refining to do, it's a good and different addition to the restaurants available in downtown Brea currently. The stars for this place are currently around 3.5 and that seems very right to me. I want to love it, but everything is just sort of hovering between "okay" and "good". The food was expensive and didn't justify the price. I'm happy to pay $25 for a sushi roll, but the Citrus roll was just alright. I'm also happy to pay $70 for a seafood tower but our aguachile was extremely acidic, sort of souring our taste buds for some of the things they did well on it, like the oysters and the ceviche. There also is no Kids menu which I sort of understand because I don't think they are really considering families their clientele. We did ask them to make our son an Avocado roll, which they did happily, but it was like $20. So what were the things that they did right? Our Server was fantastic. She told us we were her very first table and we loved her. Also, their ceviche needs tortilla chips or some sort of vehicle to get that to your mouth other than everyone at the table using their forks to scoop up ceviche, put in their mouth and then do a "double dip". When we presented this challenge to the server, she brought a side of tostadas. This worked great! And finally, the restaurant has a lot of life to it. There is much action for all of your senses if that is what you're into. Bright colors, videos, music, sexy cocktails, servers dressed up but with cowboy hats...it's a lot to take in and definitely different than a typical Brea restaurant. We will give this a couple months and then maybe try it again. I hope for an expanded menu that will draw me back. At their regular Tempo restaurant, they used to have this Surf and Turf burrito that was the most delicious steak and lobster combination...I need something like that which will make me want to visit again and again. read more

I love how the inside is decorated, there are large custom murals with the fusion concept which look so good in the space! I wish I would have known the panela asada was a cold appetizer before ordering. The fajitas were also a pretty small portion for the price. Went to tempo geisha tonight, first they changed the menu in the past couple months so the reason I came and what I wanted on the menu was no longer available then moved us from the dining area to the bar booths. They told us that they would give us dessert on them for the inconvenience. We ordered ONE carne asada plate that took more than 30 min to arrive and when we wanted to ask our server about our order she was no where to be found. Our service was so bad we didn't even get to order the free dessert we just wanted to get out of thee. We had a reservation and was promptly walked out table. We let the hostess know that we were surprising a guest. So they sat us right away before they arrived. My family and I have wanted to try Tempo Geisha, so we reserved a table on the patio via OpenTable for my mother's birthday. It was a beautiful day and my mother loves dining outdoors, loves seafood, and loves a chill environment. We were looking forward to a nice meal. When we arrived at the front desk, we found out the patio was not yet fully open due construction. We stepped aside to discuss our options and began researching restaurants with outdoor seating nearby when Ava (the host/front desk) came out and kindly let us know that the manager was getting a space cleared out for us on the patio. We were not expecting that at all (we had not asked for that!), and we were so surprised and relieved at their offer. Thank you, Ava, for taking the initiative to let your manager know and thank you, Diego, for really going above and beyond for us. The staff's thoughtfulness was enough to win me over, but the food also delivered. We ordered family style and despite ordering a TON of food, we finished a good deal of it! We ordered drinks (they have a great cocktail and drink selection) and the Seafood tower #3 to start. This might have been enough food for the 5 of us but we also had ordered the Ribeye (buttery and perfectly cooked), the whole garlic branzino (this was my mom's fav and mine as well-- it comes with pico, tortillas, guac and chiles), crispy salmon (beautifully plated and very tasty), as well as fries, creamed spinach and mushrooms, and elote. We loved dessert--the butter cake and cheesecake were a great end to the meal. Everything was terrific and Diego, the manager was wonderful. Oh no don't try this place ... I have been to there location in downy and the old one in brea , there food is amazing and there drinks .... But not this place it was horrible . They took 30 minutes to bring are drinks and let me tell you it was a Sunday at 11:00 and there was only one other table besides us in the whole restaurant. The drinks was not good and to top it off the food was horrible no flavor on any of the 8 different plates we ordered. If you see on the picture they just dumped a whole bottle of sour cream on my chili reyeno it was the worse food I have ever had . I would say they need to work on this place and maybe have the cooks and bartender go try the food and drinks from their other location . The prices are high so I would think you should get good quality. I don't get why everyone is hyping up this restaurant so much when it's not maybe they don't know what good food is. read more

We've been waiting for this location to open and we're excited to visit their 3rd day opening. Just to be clear, this is still considered a "soft opening" of sorts as their menu is still small but don't worry, their drink menu is extensive! I had try their Sirena Martini and it was as delicious as it was described. We started with their Wonton Tacos app... they were sooo delicious! Next time we're ordering 2 plates so we can have more! For our entrees we had their Crispy Salmon and Crispy Chicken. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the skin was perfectly crispy but not burned. I loved the side it was served with, a combo of peas, blueberries and red raspberries so it added a nice sweetness to the dish. I had never tried something like this but made perfect sense going into my mouth. My hubby loved his Crispy Chicken too along with a side of mashed potatoes. The chicken was very juicy and tasty. Of course we had to stay for dessert and at this time they only have one, their Butter Cake. It was really yummy with fresh sliced strawberries and strawberry compote topped with vanilla ice cream. Our server was Scarlet and she was friendly and helpful with any questions. She aways checked in but in between other servers stopped by too. The manager David made a point to stop at tables and welcomed everyone and got feedback on their food. He stopped at our table and he gave us the history of their other Tempo restaurant not far from this one and he told us how this one will be adding more food as time goes by. The ambiance was so gorgeous too! I couldn't help but take plenty of photos of all their decor. I even visited their ladies room and although not painted in theme like the rest of the restaurant, it was nice and clean. We tried: Queso Fondido, Aguachiles, Enchilada Trio, King Roll, elote side, and ribeye tacos. All great tasting and good portion quality overall! Roxy was our server she was very nice and attentive. They did a nice job on the inside of restaurant, nice decor and good music playing but not overbearing loud like at their other locations. I will give a soft recap All the drinks we ordered 10/10 The drinks ordered: Margarita De La Sierra Elise's margarita El Peligroso Smokey Margarita Geisha Margarita The menu definitely wasn't what we expected BUT after we talked to our server and he said it was their soft opening it made more sense. Surf and Turf Tacos: 5 out of 5 stars Tacos were delicious AND THE BONE MARROW FOR THAT PRICE POINT AMAZING. The shrimp, asada, grilled cheese and sauce were great. Citrus Roll: 4 out of 5 stars delicious but nothing crazy or out of the ordinary Spicy garlic edamame: 0 out 5 stars. If this was advertise as spicy citrus edamame I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Not much garlic and a different taste. Gave me a cocktail sauce with edamame vibe. We came twice in a day, once at 4:15 PM and let me say we weren't expecting it to be that empty. We sat at the dining side and our server Jesse was great. It was much more mellow than we expected compared to their original location on imperial and brea. I'm telling you right now if you think it's going too busy, take that mentality, forget about it and just come. We came back again around 9ish and still pretty slow compared to what we expected but again drinks and service were 10/10 Roxy and Caitlin were amazing. We went here last night. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The service was poor, and while the food was just okay, the staff clearly need more training. We requested water, and instead of bringing fresh glasses, they gave us water from another table. The server never checked if we needed drink refills. An even more disturbing incident occurred when I was in the restroom--while I was in a stall, a male employee entered without any announcement. I was shocked and uncomfortable; this was completely unacceptable. Despite raising these concerns, management did nothing to address them or offer any compensation. When it came time to pay, they even mixed up our bill. Upon leaving, not one of the seven employees at the entrance thanked us for coming. Completely unacceptable. We will not be returning. Side note, we went to the Yard House for dessert and the service from the moment we entered was excellent, friendly and attentive. Dessert was delicious! We were at this place at 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm First off no waters, no silverware on the table (no big deal). Service: Waitress was not good, she only checked on the table twice, manager was no help as well (this will get into later). My wife and her friends went to use the woman's restroom and one of the workers who was a male just walked in on them. My wife was washing her hand and her friends were in the stalls. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience. We were initially told the wait time would be 15-20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes. After being seated, it took another 20 minutes before our waitress came to our table. We also weren't informed about the Valentine's Day menu until then, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time, but since we had already waited, we decided to stay and order. After placing our order, it took about an hour for our food to arrive, which made no sense considering the menu was limited for Valentine's Day. You would think that with only selected food items available, orders would come out within a reasonable amount of time. Throughout the evening, we would ask for items and our waitress, Paola, would forget, and we often had to ask more than once. We noticed the same thing happening at surrounding tables as well. The food itself was okay, but not worth the $150 price point, especially considering the long wait times and overall experience.
