I stopped in to get my old gel nails cut down and re-done. I was taken in immediately and the gentleman was courteous. I wanted new builder gel and my nails to be square at fingertip length. I was told 10% do builder gel and everyone else wants acrylic. He painted the builder gel on-2 layers. Made me cure both layers. Nothing like what I had done with gel before. Once he e-filed down, my nails were very thin and bending along a few edges. The sidewalls of my nails were angled in. Several nails are varying shapes. My thumb is separating from the gels already/lifting. The nail (gel) polish application is lumpy and you can see the uneven painting. Just not a great experience or presentation. I can do better myself-and will probably start doing so. read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I got a mani pedi the other day, while I was sitting in the chair getting my pedicure done, one of the workers (not sure of his name- he has tattoos on his arms) began cutting and filing my nails down. They are SO short, while he was filing it started hurting so bad because they were just way too short. Then he started filing MY SKIN. He was trying to file I believe the top of my nails to smooth them out but was literally shaving my skin away to the point where my toe is swollen and red now. It hurts so bad and I was concerned it would get infected since they were putting chemicals all over it and it was an open wound. One of the workers handed me a calendar, a pen and a $5 gem nails certificate as if I was going back let alone the fact that my nails look terrible and I paid $90 for this experience.. maybe they were having a bad day? I had my first visit to Gem Nails around Halloween. Two weeks later and they're still holding up great! I saw Cindy. Her work is thorough - I haven't had any peeling or cracking. I got the gel powder nails and I do wish they were "smoother" but they have held up so great I think I'll continue getting them. The color selection is good, too. The prices here are fair. It's a bit tucked back in the plaza off of Winton Rd. so definitely follow your GPS on your first visit (Google Maps was accurate). I also got a pedicure from Tony which felt awesome! read more

When you come to Gem Nails, it's like coming home. The employees are so friendly and after seeing me with my mom a few times , would always ask about her if I came alone. My friend and I went in to get a colorful set of acrylics done by the people who worked at Gem nails in Henrietta. We usually get out nails done at another salon but we decided to try something new. What my friend had gotten in the hour and a half visit was beyond terrible. Her nails weren't filled properly at all and made her nails yellow underneath 2 days later. I went in and got an acyclic set and the woman that did my nails was rude. She had me hold me arm in an awkward position in the air so I couldn't relax and enjoy getting my nails done. I was also getting my nails done with a friend and the man that she had doing her nails was so friendly and her nails came out nice. My nails were not done well, they look very sloppy. This is the worse set of acyclic nails I've ever gotten. I will probably never come back to this place. read more
