I was able to get a last minute appointment for basic mani/pedi. There wasn't much wait. The place is clean, quiet, and spacious. My pedicure was nice and relaxing. Getting the gel off was a bit sensitive but that just means my nails need a break. Nice people and great spot for service. read more

Nice salon but pricey. I didnt see a price listed for designs. I wanted gelx. Im used to paying $65 + $15 in another state. Here takedown is $15 + coffin nails $5 (already premade nail so idk why the extra charge). A design of multi color french tips was projected at $40 ekk. I dont really understand the concept if the price of gelx anyway lol because its literally an entire fake nail glued on in 10-20 seconds so why is the base price $65? Anyway, im not a monthly nail girly so feel free to ignore my review if you are but I just didnt find $100+ for "press on premade nails" worth it. I just got a take down of my old gelx at $15 and $5 for cutting my nails and buffing them (-_-). I'll leave my review at 4 stars as it wouldnt be right to take away stars when I didnt have a full service to review. read more

Booked an appointment for gel manicure & pedicure. Eric did a great job with with my manicure & pedicure. My hands and feet feel very smooth and I love my manicure design. It is simple but elegant perfect for any formal event. If you pay in cash ($30 or above) you get a free gift. The place is very relaxing. It's best to book an appointment a head of time as they do fill up fast. My partner and I noticed that my nails are slightly slanted so deducting a star for that. read more

Update: well, I decided to give these guys one more shot and boy am I sorry I did. Today, they decided that the hidden charge would be an extra $5 for almond shape nails instead of oval, despite the fact that my nails ARE ALREADY ALMOND SHAPED and that they never charged me this fee for almond before. The owner, presumably Mark, argued with me in the middle of his salon over and over, and even referenced my original review, I guess to shame me? Also, when I noted that they'd done absolutely nothing to address my or other reviewer's concerns about their shady pricing practices, he then accused me of trying to get a discount for a review (that was obviously not what I was trying to say.) Also, I had to point out to my tech, William (who did a pedicure and builder gel fill in under an hour, as if he were competing in a race ) to fix a nail that was pointing in the opposite direction of my finger. If you're charging extra for the 90 seconds you took to file my existing shape, shouldn't it be perfect? ADDITIONALLY, I've been home for 90 mins and my toes are ruined and still tacky! Maybe William should be less impatient and actually do a good job. What a joke for all this extra money. Needless to say, I won't be returning and my advice to others has gone from Beware to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Unless, of course, you love to be slapped with nonsensical hidden charges, and a rude owner whose attitude is exactly what you'd expect after reading through his responses to critical reviews. FWIW, I've lived in NYC for more than 8 years and because of all the nickel and diming, Empy is definitely more expensive than the average city salon. Original: While the quality of this salon is pretty good, I have to say that their pricing practices are unclear at best, and shady at worst. The first time I went, I was handed a laminated sheet for a pedicure that had only spa pedicures. Not realizing that there was a normal, and much cheaper option (because it isn't listed), I chose the cheapest option on the sheet (an up charge of $20.) At that appointment, I also got a powder manicure. After that service, the woman who handles the phone and register tells me that I should try builder gel next time, that it's better for my nails. Sounded like a good idea, so that's what I booked for appointment #2. At my second appointment, I was at least smarter about the pedicure but when selecting a color for my nails, I selected a cat eye option. The color books are not labeled in any way for potential up charges (as is VERY standard when special polish costs more) nor did the tech state a cost difference when I selected that polish. Turns out, that type of polish is $20 extra and they only told me this after several of my nails had been painted. To top it off, I was informed AT CHECKOUT that there is a $10 charge to remove my old powder dip. This is despite the fact that they did the powder manicure AND that they convinced me to try a different service the next time without making any mention of this extra cost. This charge makes ZERO sense because had I gotten dip again, they would have had to take it off anyway - and I confirmed that there wouldn't have been a take off charge if I had done dip again. Their pricing scheme is nonsensical (and you can see from other reviews that there are other even more egregious issues) and their lack of clarity for pricing is borderline fraudulent. I'm also strongly considering finding another salon after seeing some of the owner responses to their critical reviews. read more

This was the worst manicure I've ever received. Within the day, my nails started chipping and peeling. Two days later and my one nail is bubbling and peeling, with the second layer still wet underneath. I was in and out within 15 minutes. It was rushed, sloppy, and unprofessional. I don't have the time to come in to have them fix it-- as they promise to offer if anyone is unhappy with their services-- nor should that be necessary. read more

Went here a few days ago with my friend. I got a dip manicure and my friend got just a normal manicure with regular polish. We were very grateful for them to squeeze us in without an appointment. However, my friend was asked to pay and tip before her service started which is very odd and made her uncomfortable but she did it anyway. They also up-charged her for "nail shape". She got a simple square shape and has short nails. Her nails are already chipping. My nails are very thick and do not look like a normal dip manicure. All my nails were made to be different lengths and were shaped weirdly. I had dip on right before so not a lot of work needed to be done as far as the shape. The nail's themselves are textured, bulky and uneven. Everyone was very nice and the place did have a good atmosphere. read more

I so love their service! I'm pretty impressed and very relaxing there! The workers are so friendly and very respectful. They were very gentle with me especially I had a surgery a month ago. They make sure I feel comfortable and avoid any chance of feeling uncomfortable when they do my peds spa. I'm grateful for their gentleness! They did a fantastic job with my nails. So gorgeous!!!! I've been long overdue for a pedicure and decided to check this spot out. Thanks Jenny for the 411! I used Facebook messenger to request an appointment which was quick and easy. Parking is off street in a shared lot. There was no wait when I got there. Typical thing. I picked a color and looked over the pedicure choices. I opted for the Deluxe which included a foot jelly soak which was slightly weird but I enjoyed it! The massage hammers were fun too! The Salon is brand new. It's spacious and well lit. They accept cash, credit, Apple Pay. They have plenty of manicure options as well. I'll definitely be back! And my feet and legs feel baby soft! read more

I was in the area and needed a pedicure. They're new, and I'd been meaning to try them. They're open til 7:30, but I wasn't sure if they'd be able to take me when I called at 6:30, knowing I couldn't get there til 6:45. They did! I have come here three times. The second time was not good and I should have spoke up but.. whatever too late now. I had a good experience this time and luckily the person who did my pedicure took it easy as I had requested. They do a good job and I've never been here for my manicure as I go elsewhere. Since moving up here I was trying to find someone as good as my place home so I was rotating through people here for builder gel. Didn't hate their work, and didn't love. The couple girls I had did a pretty good job, came out a little thicker than I like. But the 2 men I had I did not enjoy. The last one I had was so incredibly rude to me. It started as a simple language misunderstanding, which I can understand, but the attitude continued throughout the entire appointment where I was essentially being yelled at. Most awkward nail appointment I've ever had and I think he over charged me after considering the full price was more than it was the previous times. If you're gonna go, try and get one of the girl nail techs. read more

I came here on a whim when I was back in ROC for a wedding and let me tell you... I wish I had found them before I moved to NC- I would've been coming here all along. The staff was so kind and accommodating. The place is clean, bright, and welcoming. I had a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was phenomenal- it wasn't rushed. The girl took a lot of time to do various elements of the service and I loved the hot stones at the end. Gel manicure was quick, well done and has lasted me 2+ weeks at this point. I've tried out several nail salons in ROC when I lived here and just always used to go to the same old one out of convenience- they were not even a fraction as great or reasonably priced as Empy Nails. Highly highly recommend- I will be popping in any time I'm back in ROC. read more

Had an incredible first experience here. Very clean and relaxing facility, convenient location. Was really grateful to the person at the front desk who was kind and helped me work around some of my scheduling challenges that day. Vic did my nails and he was phenomenal, haven't had nails I like this much in a while. He perfectly captured the photo I showed him and even made it better than I expected!! Really great nail salon! Mark, Peggy & Eric all do a fantastic job. Eric did my nails today. He has great attention to detail, easy to communicate with, and is very welcoming. Do not go here!! Unsanitary practices!!! I literally got a fungal infection on my toe nail from this place. I now have to get my toe nail removed. They are way too rough with the pedicure. Don't let this place fool you. Unhygienic. read more

I really like this clean new nail salon that opened up in Monroe. They are professional and hospitable. At first they wanted to take of my acrylics by trying to pull them off, and I politely declined and said I prefer a soak off because pulling it really hurts. I am glad they accommodated me without an appointment because there were a handful of walk-ins that wanted service. I will say my nail tech didn't really acknowledge me or ask me even for my name or introduce herself. But I think it may be because of a language barrier. I am looking forward to coming back and trying out their acrylic service. The only reason I gave a 4 star was my nail already started to chip. Because I already flew out I can't get it fixed. For a gel service I was hoping for a longer wear. But overall my experience was pretty positive. read more

Had a gel mani & pedi done by Mia. I get that it's a busy place but she acted very rushed and my nails definitely didn't turn out how I had hoped. The cuticles were left all uneven which then made the polish look the same...at least 3 nails were bright red around the edges with blood because she was so rushed with the tools. On a very busy Friday for Empy, I was able to get right in within 15 minutes of calling and accommodated for a pedicure almost right away. The nail salon is clean, relaxing and welcoming. Spa pedicure options and the most basic one even still includes a lot of care. With the soft music playing and the peace inside I almost fell asleep. Very much enjoyed my pedicure and will make the trip from Greece to come back! read more

After they finished using it the tools on me they just put it back in the drawer without washing them. The prices are cheap, but I think they are violating health codes. The nail tech filed my nails so hard my skin below my cuticle started bleeding. Ouch! The prices are cheap but it's no worth it.

I was welcomed right in and asked to pick a color and waited only about 2 minutes on a busy day. I asked them for a simple design they did very well on. They offer acrylic nails (hard to find these days) and do an amazing job as my nails I've gotten done there twice now have lasted longer than 3 weeks. What I really like about them though is they are very American/English friendly - super knowledgeable - and quick. Lastly, I've also gotten a pedicure they did a great job on too.

Yes, I could order online or…read morego to Sephora, but Waterlily and Sepora are worlds apart--and why not when we can support local--AND it's actually better?! First of all, the vibe is completely different. Waterlily is an old house that feels cozy and warm. All of their employees are so elegant and classy and have the utmost customer service at heart. They offer spa services, skin products from certain lines (can't say much about them as I haven't explored them really), and only Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier make up. However, I love Laura Mercier, and a few Trish McEvoy items (on their suggestion) have become staples for me. I won't use this forum to talk about Laura Mercier, but it really is an excellent make up line. For me, I always like to try on new products or just test out some make up for fun when I go in to stock up on something I have run out of, and they are always happy to put something on me. Plus, every time I go, I learn a new technique of some sort. These ladies really know their stuff. It isn't like at Sephora where you get some high school girl who has only been using make up herself for like 2 years and may have managed to memorize a few key facts about the entire store since she's overwhelmed by the surplus of product lines and hasn't been around long enough to try 1/100 of them. The ladies that work at Waterlily are skilled make up artists and fans of make up. They have a strong knowledge of what works given your face structure, strengths and weaknesses, and how to apply the lines they sell. And they often have national make up artists come in. Oh, and also they keep a file on which products you ordered so if you wonder if this new shade will go with anything you have, they can just look it up and say "Yes, this will go perfectly with that cream shadow in x shade you bought" or if you come in for more concealer, but can't remember what color you are, they know. Very helpful! And some of them even remember my name! What store does that?? Recently, I've had a few issues with a certain product line and they are always good about returning or exchanging. However, know that they only offer store credit, not full returns, which is the only drawback of this store.

Clearly, the people at TC NAIL BAR have either mistaken their business for an ACTUAL BAR, or should…read morenot be licensed to operate. DO NOT GO HERE!...not only were three of my fingers bleeding, the nails on my hands were totally different lengths, my cuticles were ripped and raw, and two of the nails were completely crooked. I knew they were rushing as they were doing it, and when I politely asked for them to fix them after or at least get my money back, they said no refunds. It's too bad for them because I get my nails done monthly and I would've been a very loyal customer to somebody who could get it right. Now I am out $80 dollars, my hands look horrible, and I have to soak these off at home. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR NAILS!
