    Filet mignon

Still the best food in Orange County and the martini pours are to the rim! Every meal is deliciously prepared with incredible sauces and care. Chef Byron never disappoints. This last week I dined there three times having the filet mignon, Chilean sea bass and angel hair pasta with shrimp. Exceptional service too.

A super solid French restaurant. We keep coming back which is a solid endorsement. As a family our favorites are the holiday brunches with free flowing champagne! Servers are always friendly, the cooks are solid and consistent. Crepes yummy yummy, they are my default. I tried the Mo's crepe dessert, fantastic. We're planning on happy hour next visit. Oh yeah, they have a full bar and an incredible wine list. be ready for very cute French style restaurant at the harbor (but not on the water side).

Not our usual neighborhood- but when a trip to the outlets turns out to be a bust, we make up for it with an early-in-the-week date night. We got to see Dana Harbor with the Christmas decorations and lights and boy what a treat. We chose Gemmell's because of the decor and French-based menu. The restaurant was rather empty for being prime dinner time. It took a couple of minutes to get seated and overall I would say service was leisurely. We didn't care we were enjoying the evening. The steak was good, but meaculpa ordered medium. I believe in no steak beyond medium rare, but for some reason, I messed up today. The sauce was really tasty and the softened peppercorns gave a good bite. Wine, creme brule, smoked salmon, and espresso are all good, but the runaway star was the Chicken Elizabeth that Wifey ordered. The chicken was super tender and what made French cuisine was the sauces. Enjoyed ourselves and gave into the moment.

    Halibut Special, so good!

Had dinner here on 7/31/24 for the first time. We have been coming to Dana Point for years and never made it to this fabulous restaurant. Julian was our server and he is awesome. Very attentive and took care of us all night. Chef Byron came out to the table and greeted us, which was very nice of him. Dinner - Shrimp Scampi appetizer- cooked to perfection. So delish. I asked for more bread, just so I could dip in the sauce :-) Special of the night was Sauteed Halibut. Cooked to perfection. Served with rice and veggies. I believe the delicious sauce was Espagnole sauce. Chicken Piccata - on point, so good! Caesar Salad Thanks again to Julian and to Chef Byron Gemmell, we will be returning each and every time we are in Dana Point!

Great little French restaurant in the harbor. One of the better little places in the area. Lobster Bisque is excellent.

There is a reason , The ambience The service The food The decorations- dishes , tea cups , orange juice glasses all match their decor makes you feel like you took a trip to France ( down to their tooth picks in the sandwiches ) We ordered the little basket of mini warm baked goods -they were tiny and delicious $4.99 for four . You could buy a dozen . We split the Chicken Breast Les Champs sandwich on their baguettes which was absolutely DELICIOUS!! We both had a plate each with out one dill pickle spear I tell you it was the best flavored not too thick and not too thin chicken breast - it must have had 3 pieces total with tomato and we had mini chopped red onion on the side but on the sandwich would have been amazing . I would have taken my other half home if I ordered a whole to myself . I can still taste that sweet flavor and we both cannot wait to go back . Service was excellent so thank you to everyone as we were very happy and we told them that and wrote it on our receipt . If you haven't tried this adorable little place yet , btw they do allow dogs on the patio as they have dog water bowls there as well if dogs are behaved and kept on the ground as they should be and not on the chairs or tables ( I have seen this before ). There are lots of tables inside , but to eat outside even during the hot temps they keep it cool was awesome!!

On our first visit, we ordered the Crispy Pepperoni and the Sweet & Spicy Square. Both were excellent. This time around, we tried the Crispy Pepperoni with honey and the Supreme Square, and once again everything was phenomenal. The pizzas have the perfect combination of crispy edges, great texture, quality toppings, and incredible flavor. Definitely get the sesame crust. It takes an already great pizza to another level and has quickly become a must for us. What really made our second visit stand out, though, was Hailey. She was beyond classy and genuinely could not have been more hospitable. She was attentive, warm, polished, and made us feel incredibly welcome without ever being overbearing. That type of service makes a huge difference and deserves to be recognized. Between the food, atmosphere, and hospitality, Truly Pizza has very quickly earned a spot in our regular rotation. Going twice in one week should tell you how much we enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back.

The ambiance at Truly Pizza was great and the staff was super friendly. The open-air patio made us feel like we were in Europe. I'd heard reservations were needed, but we went without one and only waited five minutes to be seated. Our food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating with my two year old grandson. We also learned a bit of food history: although Caesar salad is often thought of as Italian, it was actually created in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1924 by Italian immigrant restaurateur Caesar Cardini. We ordered the pizza, choosing from three different crusts. I especially liked the square and sesame crusts. Our favorites were the sweet-and-spicy pizza and the Mike's Honey pizza, both had great flavor combinations. Dessert was a bit more hit-or-miss for me. I could have passed on the ice cream with olive oil. Something about the combination didn't quite work for me; it reminded me of eating a salad with ice cream. Overall, Truly Pizza was a fantastic experience, with a beautiful atmosphere, welcoming service, and excellent pizza. I'd definitely come back for the pizza and patio alone.

I've attended their trivia nights, and they were a blast--well organized, engaging, and a perfect activity for a group of friends. The drinks are fantastic. On my most recent visit, I had the opportunity to beta test one of their murder mystery events, and it was such a unique and entertaining experience. It added a whole new level of fun to the evening and made for a memorable night out. If they offer the murder mystery event again, I highly recommend checking it out.
