This small kiosk style coffee shop seems to change hands every few years. Since they're in my neighborhood, I like to support them. I was greeted warmly but had to wait a few minutes to order. That's ok, there was only one person working at the time and I was in no hurry. I decided on a Jalapeno Cheese Bagel, toasted with cream cheese "for here". I noticed their small selection of bagels were just sitting out in the open air, not covered up or in any sort of container. After a few minutes I was handed the bagel in a small bag, despite ordering in. I took a seat at one of their small patio tables. The bagel was very tasty with a pretty conservative spread of cream cheese. Not sure where they source their bagels from, but it had a nice chew and flavor, unfortunately not enough jalapeno. The outside seating area seemed rather unkempt. Several of the tables had ponding water pooled on the surface; some chairs as well. It was 10:00 am and they had been open for several hours but apparently don't take much care in maintaining the "gathering" area.

I'm not fluent in baking alchemy. I was raised on Costco pie (bleh). So, I thought this was going to be dry and overly sweet but much to my whole family's surprise, Ramona was the winner! My takeaway: Do not discriminate the chubby crust roll! Take it from me because I'm a savage that eats a pie right out of the fridge. The crust is like a shortbread cookie. It's almost on the Italian pastry spectrum. Very delicious. Very coffee friendly. The blueberry filling was also perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet and even with the crumble topping, I felt like I could eat it with yogurt in the morning and trick myself into calling it a wholesome breakfast.
