I did a takeout order of the lunch special, 4 wings and 2 legs (crunchy), with a side of fries (0.79 extra), and cucumber salad. The wings were really good. I'm not really an leg person, but they had good flavor, as well as the fries and salad. Counter service was quick, I pre-ordered, so my food was ready when I got there. The restaurant looked nice! The craving for crispy chicken was hitting so to Bonchon we went! We arrived around dinner time on Mother's Day so the staff was limited and we could tell they really had their hands full so service was a bit slow. We started with the new appetizer sotteok sotteok. A little too sweet for me but the sausage and rice cake were cooked perfectly. My husband really enjoyed this one. The 10pc wings with half yangneom and half soy garlic. Even though these wings were sauced they were still so crispy! We expected them to be all flats but it arrived mixed - so if you were expecting the same be sure to specify. My son and I stopped by Bonchon on the way back from camping at Collins Lake. We got takeout of 30 wings with 2 flavors: soy garlic and Korean BBQ flavors, and we got 2 orders of pork belly bao buns. These 2 of are our favorite dishes here. They just opened, so it was not busy yet. Service as quick and we got our food within 10 or so minutes. We made a visit for a late lunch on a Friday while out & about. The decor is minimal & modern with black tables, black wooden benches, & metal chairs. There is a bar area with sports on the TVs. It was roomy & clean. Fun pop music played in the background. The staff was friendly & helpful. We were seated, served water, & able to order quickly. We were checked in on multiple times, but even when we were obviously done, we still had to call attention to get our check. Though it got busier, we were acknowledged when we left. Our order-- Chicken Sandwich with Yangnyeom Sauce--tender chicken, crunchy exterior, slaw was tangy, sauce was sweet & spicy Side of Seasoned Fries--great texture, good taste, a lot of dry seasoning was in the bottom of the bowl that didn't stick onto the fries, served with ketchup Pork Belly Bao Buns--soft pillowy buns were warm on arrival, pork belly was meaty & tender (but amount in each bun wasn't consistent), tasty sauces, crunchy veggies, all around yummy little nibbles Overall, a good spot to grab a tasty bite. read more

Ordered mixed wings to go with half spicy, half yangnyeom. The spicy were super spicy like habanero or slightly hotter but I liked the yangnyeom flavor a lot. Wings were also crispy like advertised. I was hungry so I decided to eat a couple wings before departing the restaurant. Good thing I did bc the first wing I took out had a huge hair on it! Took my order back to the kitchen and they made me a new batch. I ended up staying at the restaurant longer than I hoped bc of this incident. I got the YumDrum Trio with Soy Garlic and seasoned fries and a donut, the MoPo Corndog, the Classic Crunch Wings and regular fries. The Classic Crunch Wings were really good, and the Drumsticks were really juicy. I liked the seasoned fries more than the regular, but for the price difference I might skip on the seasoned fries. The MoPo corndog had soy garlic and next time I will try the cinnamon sugar but I was not super impressed. The donut was really soft and sweet and the dipping sauce was great. The staff was super patient with us since we were having issues figuring out what we wanted. We got a corn dog (not pictured) were so delicious and flavorful and probably the best Korean hot dog I've had. The Tteokbokki was really good as well! Pretty large portion too. Securely packaged and ready on time, we got a pricey selection of saucy wings, giant drumsticks, sides and delicious japchae. With tip/tax/fee our total was $85 feeding three people and we had leftovers. All the chicken were very crispy and covered in a sweet K-BBQ sauce or the savory soy garlic. The meal deal contained 10 wings, 4 drums, 2 sides for $40. Sides were Korean street corn and coleslaw (tasted like kfc.) I also ordered the fried zucchini coins with cucumber-wasabi dip which I did not like as it tasted like refrigerator burn. Not hot, but mildly sweet, but with Johnny's-like seasoning and maybe mirin. The crunch wasn't there. It appeared to be dusted with either corn or rice flour plus the usual coating. Rice goes well with this. My husband enjoyed the cole slaw. Fries looked to be too much but were tempting. Since the chicken was available in 10 or 20 pieces, plus a larger family size, the two of us wondered if we should get 10 or 20. The menu suggested 10 for one person, and we wanted leftovers so we got 20 - they gave us 25! For me, 5 or 6 is a filling meal, coupled with a side. Hubby ate 7. Too bad they didn't have a 14-size as that would feed two normal hungry adults or make a snack for 3 or 4 ! I haven't been inside, but my husband says it's a good place for casual dine-in or to-go. I downloaded yelp just to leave this review. I visited this restaurant recently and noticed a few things that made my wife and I uncomfortable. As I walked to the bathroom I saw an employee vaping in the kitchen area around the food, and there also seemed to be a gnat problem around the bar area because I saw a swarm of them near the beers. My wife also overheard an employee making an inappropriate joke in Vietnamese about a customers, which was disappointing to hear in a professional setting. I hope these issues are resolved because the food itself was good, but the hygiene and professionalism definitely need improvement. read more

We have been ordering for delivery from this location for a while now. Our usual order is the 9 piece mixed chicken wings and drums. We've also had it so many different ways - half spicy half soy garlic or sometimes half classic/plain. The sides that come with order are either coleslaw or daikon/radish. The family favorites are the spicy, soy garlic, and the daikon side. We've never had problems with our orders, it's always right. Visited the restaurant a few times and it's nice and clean. In the mood for chicken, we checked out Bonchon for the first time today. It's about time since we've been to just about every other restaurant around it. The inside was pretty big with a few TVs and it was also very clean. The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly and piping hot! We ordered the Korean BBQ Wings, Soy Ginger Drumsticks, Regular Fries and Bulgogi Fries. Everything had great flavor and tasted fresh. The chicken was super crunchy, but still juicy! From what I can remember, they only sell beer, wine and Soju. My husband ordered a Track 7 and he said it tasted really fresh. The food is always good, but it's very noticeable when they give certain people old coleslaw or bad rice. There has been a couple of times that I have had to maybe try my best to ask for fresh food, which is always awkward to do because you would expect that but anyway love the chicken and the other foods will recommend this place too, but make sure to ask for the glaze for your doughnut and fresh rice and fresh coleslaw maybe it's because they're busy. I live in Natomas and hardly venture this way but we were shopping in the area and wanted to try something new. Hubs was craving wings and they had some. They are Korean based and reminded me very much of Vons Chicken. They also serve a few other Korean dishes like Bulgogi. We ordered 20 wings in Yumyang sauce with an order of seasoned fries to go. It came to $35 and I was not planning on spending that much for lunch but it is on par with eating out these days. We got home and it was still hot in the bag. The wings were much bigger than anticipated and full of flavor! If I had known, we could have gotten away with a smaller order. The fries were one of the best I have had.
