"The Night I Broke Keto... And I Regret Nothing " So my wife and I were sitting there trying to figure out where in the world we wanted to eat. Honestly, at that moment I could've gone for just about anything. We had managed to escape the kids for a little bit, and with our 15th anniversary tomorrow, we figured we deserved a little break from reality. Long story short... Then long again... BEHOLD... BONCHON. We walked in and immediately got that subtle, low-key "you just found a hidden gem" kind of vibe. Nothing overly flashy, just a nice, chill atmosphere that makes you feel like you discovered something the rest of the neighborhood hasn't figured out yet. We got seated and the service started off great. Everyone was nice, attentive, waters came out quickly, and then... THE REAL CHALLENGE BEGAN. What the heck are we gonna eat?! Everything on that menu looked and sounded . Now, for those who know me, I've been doing keto. I've been trying to stay disciplined and make better choices. But tonight? Not tonight. Tonight I was a FREE MAN. My wife ordered her food, looked over at me with that concerned wife look like, "Are you sure about this?" Ma'am... I had already made peace with my decisions. I added the wings and then ordered that big ol' Bap-something bowl with bulgogi -- and if I butchered the name, just know it was DELICIOUS. Then the food started arriving. And I gotta give them credit -- it wasn't a long wait at all. My wife's food came out first. Then... THE WINGS. And then came the main event. This bowl came out SIZZLING like it had been sitting over an open flame. TSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I think that's the correct spelling for the sound. The young man serving it said: "Be careful, it's extremely hot." Brother... I dove into that bowl like I had signed a waiver saying Bonchon was no longer responsible for what happened next. And let me tell you... IT WAS FIRE. Beef, spinach (I think ), carrots, mushrooms, eggs... ...and then... RIIIIIIICE. Oh, rice... HOW I MISSED YOU. It had been so long. I was scooping rice, grabbing a bite of beef, hitting a wing, back to the bowl, back to a wing... At this point I wasn't eating. I WAS MR. MCGRUBBIN. I absolutely demolished that bowl. But before I went completely crazy on the rest of those wings, I thought... "Wait a minute... where's the spice?" So I called over my guy and asked for some hot sauce. He hits me with: "Sriracha or our house spice?" I said, "How spicy is the house sauce?" This man gave me the face... Immediately I said: "Bring it." I dipped my pinky in that sauce like I was a detective conducting a highly classified investigation. One taste. PURE. I poured that sauce over the rest of my food and immediately learned an important lesson: DO NOT INHALE WHILE EATING THAT SAUCE. That pepper will reach down into your throat and remind you that actions have consequences. I gave my guy the like: "You've done well, young Samurai." I told him the sauce was fire and jokingly said: "Man, this is like water." Meanwhile, my mouth was fighting for its life. But did I let them see me struggle? Absolutely not. I maintained my composure like a warrior. I couldn't finish all the wings, so of course I took the hot sauce to-go because apparently I had decided that tomorrow's battle was already scheduled. Overall, Bonchon was a great little anniversary-eve discovery. Good food, friendly service, attentive staff, reasonable wait, and flavors that definitely woke me up. And yes... I broke keto. But listen... It's our 15th anniversary. Sometimes you gotta put the chicken breast down, pick the rice back up, and just LIVE A LITTLE. Bonchon -- you got me tonight. And that house sauce? Bonchon absolutely understood the assignment. Sean and I came here for dinner during our anniversary getaway, and this was our first real break from the kids in a while. We got ourselves a hotel room, dressed up, went out to dinner, and were just genuinely excited to sit down and eat some good food without somebody needing something every five minutes. I got the Bulgogi Bento, which came with the beef over rice, and I added a side of teriyaki sauce because I wanted a little extra flavor with it. The beef and rice were exactly what I was craving. I had originally been thinking about sushi, but honestly? That bowl of beef and rice was exactly what I needed. We also got the 10-piece Korean fried chicken wings, and those were SO good. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely worth getting. Sean got one of the dishes served in a sizzling hot bowl, and I thought that was so cool. The bowl stayed sizzling at the table, almost like the bowl itself was the hot plate. His came with one of their really spicy sauces, and he loved it. It looked and smelled incredible. But honestly, one of my favorite parts of the whole dinner was what happened after the food came. We were sitting there talking about how good everything was, and then we just... stopped talking. We were both quietly eating, looking at each other every now and then like, "Hell yeah. This is good." The staff kept coming by asking if we were okay because apparently we looked suspiciously quiet. And we were like, "YES! We promise! We're good!" We were just two parents who finally got a break, dressed up for our anniversary, sitting in peace and absolutely enjoying our food. It was actually kind of funny because we probably looked way fancier than we felt. Underneath the nice clothes, we were still just two tired parents thinking, "Nobody needs anything from us right now. Let us eat." The food was excellent, the presentation was fun, and the whole experience made our anniversary dinner feel special without needing to be overly fancy. Five stars from me. Friendly Staff & Fast Service. The Bulgogi Korean Tacos are huge and filling. The Sotteok Sotteok was a great treat to try for the first time. The texture of the rice cakes are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sauce is tangy, sweet and spicy. The Bulgogi Fries are one of our favorites. The fries have this amazing crispy crunch to them. We tried the Golden Dusted Boneless Fried Chicken for the first time. Nice crispy, well seasoned, crunchy little nuggets of chicken. Had lunch today with my son and he picked Bonchon. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. Service was awesome, waitress was very attentive. We had a couple of appetizers.. I wanted to try their Korean street corn and it was pretty good! The spicy potstickers were delicious! I love spicy and their sauce has a really good kick! We also had the regular fries and those were so crispy! One of the best fries out there. The chicken here is so good. I've had the wings a few times but I think I prefer the chicken sandwich. The bulgogi fried rice is pretty stellar as well. The prices are pretty good,especially if you look for their specials. The staff here are always very friendly. The place is generally very quiet and everyone kind of just keeps to themselves. The craving for crispy chicken was hitting so to Bonchon we went! We arrived around dinner time on Mother's Day so the staff was limited and we could tell they really had their hands full so service was a bit slow. We started with the new appetizer sotteok sotteok. A little too sweet for me but the sausage and rice cake were cooked perfectly. My husband really enjoyed this one. The 10pc wings with half yangneom and half soy garlic. Even though these wings were sauced they were still so crispy! We expected them to be all flats but it arrived mixed - so if you were expecting the same be sure to specify. Just to preface, this spot location has a special spot in my heart. I've been coming here for years, so writing an unbiased review would be impossible. It also doesn't take much to please me so I'm pretty generous with my reviews. Anyways you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu, especially the chicken. Although I've heard that the soy garlic recipe has changed to be a bit more salty. Which I can't really confirm or deny since it has been a minute, but I think it did lean a bit more salty than memory serves. The seasoned fries are still as solid as I remember for sure. We also got the chicken katsu which was very generously portioned, just forgot to take a pic. Overall this place is a really great spot that I used to frequent, and it was great coming back. I only really stopped going because of fatigue from coming here so often in the past, but the food is still a solid as ever. read more

Ordered take out. Really wanted chicken wings. Came upon this establishment via DoorDash. Sounds interesting - the idea of a fusion Asian Korean, Chinese and Mex approach. Ordered tacos, sandwich or Chinese bun, and chicken drum sticks. You select the type of sauce you want. I chose garlic and Korean. The drum sticks were huge and crispy and glazed in Korean BBQ sauce. Really hooked on the taste and texture. The tacos were a bit salty but flavorful and in generous portions. The buns were stuffed with BBQ beef and seasoned just right. We made a visit for a late lunch on a Friday while out & about. The decor is minimal & modern with black tables, black wooden benches, & metal chairs. There is a bar area with sports on the TVs. It was roomy & clean. Fun pop music played in the background. The staff was friendly & helpful. We were seated, served water, & able to order quickly. We were checked in on multiple times, but even when we were obviously done, we still had to call attention to get our check. Though it got busier, we were acknowledged when we left. I got the YumDrum Trio with Soy Garlic and seasoned fries and a donut, the MoPo Corndog, the Classic Crunch Wings and regular fries. The Classic Crunch Wings were really good, and the Drumsticks were really juicy. I liked the seasoned fries more than the regular, but for the price difference I might skip on the seasoned fries. The MoPo corndog had soy garlic and next time I will try the cinnamon sugar but I was not super impressed. The donut was really soft and sweet and the dipping sauce was great. The staff was super patient with us since we were having issues figuring out what we wanted. We got a corn dog (not pictured) were so delicious and flavorful and probably the best Korean hot dog I've had. The Tteokbokki was really good as well! Pretty large portion too. We ended up sharing a sampler and I was shocked at how much food we got. Chicken was nice and flavorful and juicy, and the fries were AMAZING!!! Seriously so much flavor. I purchased a mixed nine piece chicken order which stated I would receive three drumsticks and six wings. I thought perfect but instead I received three regular size drumsticks and six drumettes covered heavily in three different sauces that I thought would come on the side. So I returned inside to let them know the problem I had with this portion of my order. So the server decided to argue me down about semantics of what pieces constitute wings stating that drumettes are a part of a wing. She told me I didn't specify I wanted all flats as the parts of the wing. So I said okay then I want all flats after so much banter going back and forth that I didn't want to continue but she insisted on giving me a loud lesson about the parts of a wing and said to me over and over and over I should have said all flats. So I say okay okay I want all flats along with the three drumsticks just like your menu says. So she brings me back the exact same thing with the sauce on the side. Again no flats. She argues with me some more and finally takes this box back and returns with six flats only and states to me we've decided we're not going to give you the three drums. The owner comes over and surprisingly supports her. He only offered to take the entire box back again and give me the six flats and the three drums but with the sauce heavily splattered over all of it Because we don't do sauce on the side he says. I decided to take the six flats and leave and by the way I tossed them and the rest of the $80 worth of food that I ordered because by the time I left this place I was sick. I have never been treated so disgustingly in my life and the server who argued me left right and sideways over such a silly thing should be fired but I don't think that the owner who was happy to support her will indulge my recommendation. Securely packaged and ready on time, we got a pricey selection of saucy wings, giant drumsticks, sides and delicious japchae. With tip/tax/fee our total was $85 feeding three people and we had leftovers. All the chicken were very crispy and covered in a sweet K-BBQ sauce or the savory soy garlic. The meal deal contained 10 wings, 4 drums, 2 sides for $40. Sides were Korean street corn and coleslaw (tasted like kfc.) I also ordered the fried zucchini coins with cucumber-wasabi dip which I did not like as it tasted like refrigerator burn. The generous serving of japchae will last my mom about three meals so that made her very happy. The bartenders weren't as attentive as the waitstaff in the dining area, which was a shame because sports people like us expect service. The inside was pretty big with a few TVs and it was also very clean. The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly and piping hot! We ordered the Korean BBQ Wings, Soy Ginger Drumsticks, Regular Fries and Bulgogi Fries. Everything had great flavor and tasted fresh. The chicken was super crunchy, but still juicy! From what I can remember, they only sell beer, wine and Soju. My husband ordered a Track 7 and he said it tasted really fresh. The service was so bad and there was only one other table in the restaurant while multiple workers stood by the computer watching videos on their phones and having loud conversations completely ignoring the guests in the restaurant) So let's get to the food! I came in during lunch and ordered the 6 piece wings (1/2 Korean bbq & 1/2 spicy) with the upgraded seasoned fries and the Spicy Chicken Korean Tacos. As you can see in the photo, we didn't get only wings, our server decided to give us the mix of drums and wings. The flavors were both extremely delicious and it reminds me of Fire Wings, but with less breading which is nice! The only let down was the fries. I don't think it was worth an upgrade because they were very bland and I had to douse it in ranch to get some enjoyment out of eating them. I don't know where to begin with the Korean tacos.. they were absolutely amazing! Every bite was full of flavor and the perfect amount of spice. It did get a little messy because there's a lot of sauce on it (which was so yummy!) but it was worth it! If you're wanting to give this place a try, come in during lunch. I downloaded yelp just to leave this review. I visited this restaurant recently and noticed a few things that made my wife and I uncomfortable. As I walked to the bathroom I saw an employee vaping in the kitchen area around the food, and there also seemed to be a gnat problem around the bar area because I saw a swarm of them near the beers. My wife also overheard an employee making an inappropriate joke in Vietnamese about a customers, which was disappointing to hear in a professional setting. I hope these issues are resolved because the food itself was good, but the hygiene and professionalism definitely need improvement. read more

We have been ordering for delivery from this location for a while now. Our usual order is the 9 piece mixed chicken wings and drums. We've also had it so many different ways - half spicy half soy garlic or sometimes half classic/plain. The sides that come with order are either coleslaw or daikon/radish. The family favorites are the spicy, soy garlic, and the daikon side. We've never had problems with our orders, it's always right. Visited the restaurant a few times and it's nice and clean. I normally seat outside though at area shared by the other restaurants. Will continue to support them. read more
