Came in Sunday for their 20th anniversary celebration $18.98/pp AYCE. It was a super hot day over 100° but had to stop in for their special promo. We made reservations for 3p for a group 8 and didn't wait too long when we arrived. It was busy! We were seated towards the back where there was 2 big tables with 3 hot pots. The hot pots are split & sectioned so you can pick 2 broths for each hot pot. This was my first time here. I opted for the mushroom broth. They have a decent selection. They also have some cooked food. Like fried rice chow mein chicken wings,. For my pot, I tried their noodles-ramen & the wide noodle, fish, shrimp, octopus, tofu, fried bean curd & veggies. I tried their sauces and I love sesame sauce but this was just ok. The fried bun wasn't bad & their sesame balls were really good. Staff were friendly. It was so hot eating here because it was super busy. And on top of it being over 100+ didn't help. Overall it was a good experience. so glad I had the chance to take advantage of their 20th anniversary promo.

It's been a while since I've been to Happy Lamb and they now have new menus. There are more items added to each tier they previously had, and they've also added the $19.99 special (Monday-Friday Dinners) permanently. Happy Lamb is my favorite hot pot in the Sacramento area because of their Original Marrow Broth. It's so delicious and flavorful, and you cannot find it anywhere else. They also have a new drink menu and a a rewards club. You just need to sign up at the end of your meal with your phone number and name. Servers were friendly as always, I've never had bad services here.

This is the best spot for hot pot. One, they don't serve pork in their broth, and two the concept of the place is functional and fulfills your AYCE craving for soup. The service is on top of it was great. They checked in despite it being a busy time after work hours. I would most def come back. One of the best hot pot in Sacramento

Super professional and the interior is very spacious and clean. Servers were super attentive and kind, more so than in regular restaurants. Dessert, snacks, and, fruits were good, ready made food was great, the hotpots were perfect. The meats were all good and portions were great in terms of timing. The fact that other food was self-serve was also really good to get more of what you like. Has a sauce bar. The layout of drinks and sauce bar is a little weird but totally fine. One complaint comparing it to other ayce places is that their drinks are not free and self-serve water on top of that.

One thing I really liked is that you can select your own hot pot broth, which makes the experience more customizable and fun. It's great being able to choose flavors based on what you're in the mood for. I also tried their $19.99 offer, which felt like a really good deal for the quality and portion you get. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and the flavors were satisfying without being too heavy. Overall, it's a nice spot if you're looking for something comforting, affordable, and customizable. I'd definitely come back again.

Came here because they have a $19.99 acye option on weekdays, for both lunch and dinner. I like that they have a pretty big variety of options for the sauce bar. I was sad that there was no lamb for the meat options for the $19.99 tier. The beef ones were too fatty for me and didn't taste great, so my favorite turned out to be the pork one even though I would normally never order pork at an ayce spot. I ended up eating more veggies and other buffet items instead. The broth itself was good, it was rich and tasty. They noticed we kept getting splattered by the soup so they gave us an apron/bib, this was cute and good quality!

I went here to celebrate my husbands birthday with my parents and they just recently changed their lunch special to only $19.99 for their weekday lunch. It comes with beef short plate or angus beef, garlic beef, chicken or pork slices. You have access to the entire buffet with veggies, noodles and a few appetizers. You can pay an extra 99 cents per person to have access to their sauce bar and also unlimited soft drinks. We decided to get the original marrow broth and we had it watered down a bit with water to make the broth lighter. Veggies and buffet items were fresh and the meat was good quality especially for the price. My husband also got his meal free for his birthday which is such a great deal but you need to have at least 4 people in your party and show ID to prove your birthday is within one day of your actual birthdate. I would definitely come back here again and next time I'll have to try their other menu options.

Sacramento's hot pot scene has been exploding lately; despite all the delicious options now in our backyard, I always find myself coming back to Happy Lamb. Service is fast, friendly, and checked on us often to re-up our meats. On weekends and holidays like Valentines Day, expect a wait - it generally moves quicker than the expected wait time. Happy Lamb offers my favorite sauce bar as well as my favorite self-serve ingredient bar. Their meat options are the highest quality in the area (imho) with the Deluxe menu offering three different cuts of wagyu. Highly recommend checking them out.

Flavorful, fresh, and terrific service! I come here every so often for my hot pot cravings. They have a smaller selection of hot pot meats, but the menu is really simple and easy to navigate. I always get the "Best of Both Worlds" broth options: Herbal and Spicy. Their angus beef is one of the choices we get every round. Although, I wasn't a huge fan of their garlic beef. It was a bit too weird in texture to me. Veggies, noodles, fish balls, etc., are all buffet style. You just go up and grab what you need. It's organized, and fresh, and nicely presented. Also, I didn't know they started serving fried mantou! I couldn't stop eating it for dessert LOL Anyway, our servers were nice, and kept coming back to take our orders. Bussers were fast and prebussed tables quickly.

The menu definitely changed a lot since the last time I went, but it still so good! Our server was really nice and she was really attentive she always came back to check on us to order more meat and sides ! She was so quick and efficient. They changed the policy now so now the sauce is included and the soda is .99 cents each which is still really good in my opinion. I remember when I went it was .99 cents for sauce and soda. We got the classic all you can eat and we still love it ! My dad was very satisfied and him and my brother loved the lamb spine. I loved the meat and the food from the food bar. I just wished some of the food from the food bar was a bit hotter, because the fries were just warm and not that hot. But overall a great experience !

First time experiencing the menu outside of Dim Sum. Here are my notes:…read more Special Fried Rice in Claypot - Refreshing fried rice due to the addition of the cilantro. You can taste the umami from the roe and other ingredients that I am not entirely sure are but taste familiar. I enjoyed and loved it. Mapo Tofu - Firm Tofu and good sauce. Although I do enjoy more of a Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu (with the very numbing taste), I still found this mapo tofu delicious as you can taste the flavor of the pork and sauce coating the tofu. 2 Entree BBQ Platter: Roast Duck and Empress chicken - I'm biased towards roast duck. I love roast duck so any roast duck is good to me. Not a lot of comment on the duck. However, the Empress Chicken is nicely seasoned with the whatever broth they cooked it in. One of the few Empress Chickens where I can enjoy it without the scallion-ginger oil, but the scallion-ginger oil still elevates this Chicken to a higher level. Congee with Pork and Preserved Egg - Comforting and triggers a lot of nostalgic feelings for me. I didn't have to add too much additional soy sauce or chili sauce because the congee has a great base flavor. Preserved egg and pork weren't too chunky, rice was not too "mushy", and the overall congee was in a good thickness to create a nice mouth feel for each bite. Will visit again to try the other dishes.

Drinks aren't rated, as they don't sell house cocktails (though they sell a small selection of beers and wines). All-in-all a solid menu. The dilemma is that we generally felt unwelcome. We came by on a Sunday evening at 6:30 pm (and paid and left by 8:20 pm which is 10 minutes before closing). We were a party of 8 with diverse backgrounds, and with exception to one server (a woman wearing red who was maybe a manager), the staff just weren't friendly toward us. I will say that one woman in red was so kind. She made sure to say "bye" as we left. I will add one of my friends mistakenly tried to take a pair of chopsticks (as they are set on the table in a paper slip). She didn't realize they were store owned/reusable vs throwaway. She quickly apologized, but that became the final straw of awkwardness with the staff. The food was genuinely great with appropriate prices, so I may give it another shot down the road as a date night option.

That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

I saw a couple of other Elites dining in when I was ordering, but it was so busy I couldn't properly say hi, so "HI DAVID AND EVA!" I'll have to keep an eye out for their next review, because whatever they had looked delish! I waited in the car for a bit and then when the order still needed a few more minutes I popped into the dollar store next door to kill a bit more time. Before I knew it my order was ready to go. They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

The combo comes with chow mein and fried rice and an egg roll for $13.99 but I asked for steam rice instead of fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't check my plate before leaving the restaurant because they gave me all steam rice and no chow mein. Despite the error, their chicken wings are still the best, and the chicken with black bean sauce was very good. I would've like to have tried the chow mein.
