    Vanilla custard donut ($5.50)
    Monica O.

The vanilla custard doughnut is not as good as I remember. Although I did get it at the end of the day, so I think the sugar dusted onto doughnut had melted into the donut itself and in general the donut was less fresh. If you wanna get a wide variety of flavors, I would definitely recommend going earlier in the day rather than at the end of the day where they typically run out of flavors. Their drinks are definitely average. I ordered a Matcha, both hot and cold, and they both were very underwhelming. The service is fine. There can be a line so you just have to wait. When I do order the drink, though I don't feel like I wait too long for my drink to be made. The inside is really nice because they're in the middle of the spheres, and the spheres is like an artsy greenhouse. And it's so bright and wide open, so I like coming here for the atmosphere. I would go back here for the donuts, but definitely not for the matcha.

Pretty pink pastels, Royal blue borders and a simple menu encapsulates General Porpoise's atmosphere and tone. The menu consists of a total of 5 donut flavors (in Spring 2023): blackberry jam, yogurt honey, vanilla, lemon curd and chocolate marshmallow. They also have the typical coffee menu with chai and matcha lattes as well. I recommend the vanilla donut for a go-to as it is very light (not like an eclair, nor was it frosting) it was a nice vanilla Chantilly flavor. I also got the blackberry jam (the seasonal) and would say that if you like something sharper that is perfect. Both have their time and strengths! The inside is also perfect for cafe working since it isn't noisy at all and they also have water cups. You do need to bus your own plates but I don't think that detracts from the experience at all. + for their paper straws for sustainability as well

Fridays are doughnut days here in the office and I love seeing the blue box because you know something special is going to be inside. Never have had a disappointing doughnut here. They always have a good variety pack and the fillings are so good, light and fresh. Get more than one. You can eat one there and save one for later because if you only get one you will be craving another one later so why not have it for later . Bring one home for the spouse....way better than flowers!

I actually really liked this flavor from @generalporpoisedoughnuts! The tartness of the huckleberry balanced out the sweetness of the fried donut pretty well. I did shook off the sugar sprinkled on top but that wasn't a big deal. The best part was to enjoy this nice treat in this very beautiful place @seattlespheres

I've seen General Porpoise's doughnuts on Yelp and Instagram, and I'm always down to satisfy my sweet tooth. Came in Friday morning for the first time with a coworker, and the staff were really helpful with any questions about the filling. I went with the vanilla custard, and it wasn't as strong of a flavor as I was expecting. It was so smooth, dangerously so now that I've tried the doughnut. I also went with an 8 oz Chai, my coworker went with the PB&J filling and an 8 oz mocha which all came out to about $20-ish. Yes, the doughnuts are pretty overpriced, but on the other hand you're paying for the filling and the experience that every bite gives you. I could be wrong, but I think the prices here are a bit more than their other locations? It's certainly a nice treat every now and then, especially when its nearby. I'll happily come back, and try their other offerings. This location is not open to the public, as its inside the Amazon Spheres, unless you manage to get on one of the weekend visits.

I had booked one of the free Saturday tours of the Amzn Spheres that are open to the public and had the chance to try General Porpoise located INSIDE. Luscious sugar-coated pillowy soft doughnuts oozing with filling like lemon curd. jams and vanilla custard. I got the Strawberry Rhubarb Doughnut that was flavorful, not overly filling and had the perfect amount of jam. At $4.75 for a doughnut (incl tax) it is expensive but totally worth it if you have a sweet tooth like me and feel the need to satisfy that craving. Prices do vary by location though. Tip: Entrance to the Spheres is free via the Public Tours that is available every 2nd Saturday. You don't need Amzn employees to accompany you for this.

General Porpoise is found INSIDE The Spheres. And entrance to The Spheres is entirely dependent on your Amazon-employee connection. General Popoise is convenient to Amazon workers and guests that are here to visit, have a meeting, work or just plain relax. Though they are the only cafe inside, they didn't skimp on the quality of their doughnuts and drinks. Their doughnuts are awesome because they are more brioche than bread and though they have tried and true flavors like the CHOCOLATE CREAM and LEMON CURD (the tartness of which was a great balance to all that sugar), their seasonal flavor at the time of our visit, DATES AND CARDAMOM was excellent and memorable. HOT CHOCOLATES are entirely rich and was a great hit among kids and adults alike. The MOCHA was very good as well. I admit it is very hard to drink something so hot in this tropical-weathered greenhouse, but they have plenty of iced water in a dispenser to wash the sweets down and cool you off.

This is a fairly pricy, average spot located in the Amazon Spheres. I'm honestly not sure I'll ever find a basic donut like the ones sold here worth $5 and, after visiting, I'm certainly still not hopeful in that search. The best thing about this spot is the location in the tropical oasis that is the Spheres. Honestly the location is the only great thing about it. That said, for the general public it's only (currently) accessible via reservations to the Spheres on the first and third Saturday of every month (which are free and can be made up to 15 days in advance online).

Staff was great! The donuts were sooo fluffy and textured combined that made it not flat, not full! Instead they were flavorful, not over filling and perfect amount of cream for my creme brûlée, delicious! Can't wait to taste that pink one I keep seeing in photos! Cookies and cream, maybe they should make one of these! I think the one I keep seeing is strawberries and cream, ahhhhh sooo good can't wait! I also got the cold brew and it was delightful with the brown sugar syrup as well! Loved it! Tasty

If you want something SWEET this is the place. The dough reminds me of the Chinese donut dough you get at the buffets, which I love... Either way these doughnuts are so good. The donut itself is fairly basic, but the filling is what makes the donut. It's not too sweet and they have a couple different flavors; all of which are great. They also have an excellent selection of coffee. The lemon-curd filling has the perfect tartness to offset the sweetness of the doughnut and its sugar coating. The Italian Plum Jam are delicious, too. General Porpoise is already as popular as you would expect from one of Seattle's favorite restaurateurs.

Frankly I don't get why there's been such a hype over these donuts lately. For a $4.25 donut, it tasted fine but I wasn't impressed. Even high quality ones with far superior taste at Blue Star Donuts cost less than that (plus no tax in Portland to boot!). These were the available flavors when I visited: - Classic Flavors: Vanilla Custard, Chocolate Marshmallow, Lemon Curd - Seasonal Flavors: Italian Plum Jam, Tiramisu Cream I tried the Tiramisu Cream, which was surprisingly a little bitter and not that sweet. The filling was airy and light. The dough wasn't as chewy as I would have liked though. Be advised that this particular location is inside the Amazon Spheres on the second level, so the business is only accessible to the public via reservation starting at 10 AM.

I think the donuts here have gotten worse over time. The sugar as the topping is unevenly distributed and the donut is a bit soggy. It doesn't have the nice crisp outside it used to have. I was a bit disappointed this time given that it's also not cheap. The rose donut was interesting, I think I prefer the vanilla custard filling over it. It looks nice but doesn't taste all that great.

    Tori Z.

Very good filled donuts! I've had the lemon curd and vanilla cream. The lemon curd was sweet and delicious and the vanilla cream was surprisingly light and tasty (with real vanilla bean - not at all like a typical Boston cream to my delight). However, they are a bit over priced and hipster pretentious like most of Renee Erickson's restaurants.

I had to try it…read more I saw this cute spot on inKind after walking by it during several Seattle visits and finally decided to stop in after reading another review that mentioned that they are nut-free. Spoiler: Absolutely no regrets, I wish I had visited earlier! I ordered a six pack with a variety of their donuts and shared them with four friends, having a bit of each. I'm glad we did it this way because I don't think I could have finished some of these donuts solo. I also had a seasonal rose latte at half sweetness which was decent, but very wholesomely came with a little donut hole that was pretty good. I will say, they nailed all the flavors. If you like the flavor, probably a 4/5 donut overall. They just weren't always my cup of tea. So the scores here are for personal enjoyment more than anything - like I said, they're solid donuts. Sour Watermelon (2/5): Holy smokes, this one felt like it was punching your taste buds. It's almost confusing on how this is in a donut form. It's more like a sour patch kid. It's intense. I don't think I could solo one. Mango Tajin (3/5): Similar to the sour Watermelon, it's perplexing how this is a donut. It was a bit spicy and tangy, just as the flavor implied. Cookies & Cream (3.5/5): Get ready to get messy. It's crumbly. It's sweet. It's more like a normal donut. Matcha Strawberry (4.5/5): My favorite of the weird flavors of donuts. They really aced the matcha flavor and it's well balanced for a donut. Blueberry Fritter (2.5/5): This was pretty hyped up, but honestly I felt like the blueberry flavor was overpowered just by the sheer amount of sugar. Texture was good, it just felt so sweet. Overall, I'd definitely recommend for a fun experience. Share some different flavors! Paid via inKind with no issues.

We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat.

I guess it was my utmost faith in you, and your product. The thing was, at almost closing there were over 20 cupcakes. No more. You lost me. You lost my business. Sad. Trophy, here I come!
